  1. sounds nice, but if it can be heard from that far away then I agree, something needs to be done, I'm not a fan of overly loud exhausts... even if they are V8's
  2. Do I just remove the two screws on the outside of the car that appear to be holding the unit in place, then pull it out? Or do I need to get to it from the inside.. Any tricks to it? Cheers again guys
  3. well I can't believe i failed to find it first time on the parts diagram, in case anyone is interested it's part #10 on here http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mo...hg=51&fg=15 cheers for the help sydwayz
  4. Thanks, I really need a part number so i can source a replacement, I can't identify it on realoem.com, not sure which diagram to look at
  5. If someone could identify what this part is, its part number, and where I can find it on realoem.com that would be appreciated, so I can get it replaced! Cheers guys
  6. haha yep that'll be the one! I would have walked past your place on the way back from town, nice car I actually stopped briefly to check it out, and crazy coincidence
  7. which model of BBS are they? and what size, 17x8's?
  8. nice car, you're not somewhere near buccleugh st by any chance are you? I was down in dunedin over the weekend and your car looks strangely familiar... I'm sure I walked past it on the way to my friends place
  9. Don't mean to hijack your thread... well actually I sort of do... Can anyone guestimate what a NZ new 1994 540i would go for?... 2 owners, 145,000km, full service history @ chch bmw, completely factory, paint in good-excellent cond, sunroof, electric seats etc, only thing wrong as far as I can tell is the electric headrests don't adjust, sounds like the gearbox for them is shot (both passenger and driver side).. First reg'd in 95 And no I'm not thinking of selling

    Various parts...

No one ? All i've found so far is the tow hook... Ray did you get my text?
  15. Chch unfortunately, would be useful to be in auckland so I could take my car to you
  16. Thanks for the quick reply, so in your opinion should I just bite the bullet and get them both replaced?edit: i should mention those prices are labour inclusive
  17. 1. Emergency triangle, tow hook, any other tools that are missing from the tool kit (see attached image) 2. drivers side floor mat, must be matching colour / shape (see attached image) 3. floor mat clips, must be matching colour (see attached image) 4. Auto shift lever, must be matching trim, and can anyone advise on how easy / hard they are to replace? (see attached image) 5. 17x8 et20 and 17x9 et22 wheels, two of each, 120x5 stud pattern If there is someone that has all the interior stuff that would be great, easier to ship etc
  18. Apparently the passengers side windscreen wiper arm is bent, so I had a look at it.. looked straight to me... except it doesn't look very genuine bmw... can anyone confirm (see attached picture)? Quoted about $250 to replace The heated water jets aren't spraying with much pressure, from what I understand the jet units themselves need to be replaced, about $300 incl labour. Is it worth getting these parts second hand and saving some $? Cheers guys
  19. Were those the factory wheels that came with the car? I was the one that asked in the auction if you were interested in selling the wheels separately. Good luck with the sale
  20. Where did you take your car? I'm about to get the bumper on my 540i resprayed... would be very interested to know where to avoid at least. Cheers
  21. wow I didn't realise there were so many e34 540i's around, awesome
  22. Right so I finally figured out what I want, now I just need to find them (which I think is going to be impossible for the rears...) front: 17x8 et20 running 235/45 rear: 17x9 et22 running 255/40 I'll send mag and turbo and mag and tyre direct an email... but i don't like my chances of finding the 17x9's with a 22 offset. Thanks for the help guys, if anyone knows where I can find what I'm after, I'd be very grateful
  23. Thanks... the guys at a tyre store in central chch told me that et38 17x8's will fit fine, is this not the case?
