Hi Y'all, on behalf of my daughters 320 1989 e30... The windsreen washers are blocked up, so I've attacked them with a fine wire & got one side going okay. But under the bonnet in the centre is the T joiner. is it normal for the washer fluid to squirt out the 2 holes? Is there sum kind of valve there or is it just shot? Cheers (Y'all)

To answer my own question; e53 rims will fit with 28mm spacers up front & 22mm on back, so long as I'm only running 235's which I am.style 58 offset 48mm e34 offset 15-26. EH2 is the runflat tyre rims, but still good to go! God helps those who help themselves, God help you if I find you helping yourself!

Hi Y'all, My springs turned up from usa today, there was a catalogue in it with spacers, up to 90 mm wide. Does anybody ever tred running 8.5 (not 9.5 as previously reported) x18's on an e34? I'd need about 70-80mm space, but will the wheels still turn inside the guards? Any advice is appreciated, it's an expensive exercise buying spacers , fitting tyres etc... At the moment I've got the rims advertised on ebay then I've got a set of 18x45's to pawn as well... If it works I'll cancel the bid & fit them, any idea the dollars on spacers? Cheers.
-
Thanks for that. anyone wanna set of 18 X9.5" rims? Helps if your in WA! Had to buy a new set of tyres anyway, & new con trol arms, with new bushings, and bilstein sports shocks & H&r springs, anything to get rid of that 95km/h shudder....

They're 9 1/2 " wide! 240cm. about 2" too wide for my car. Bought 235X40 for them, they probably too skinny, should be like 265's... I saw them on ebay a while back & the friendly people assured me they'd fit the e dirty 4. Got them for $400 freight included, to W.A which is a long way from anywhere. Can anyone say for sure what they'll fit, must be able to break even on them, got centre caps for them now too. I've got a spare e28 in NZ still if anyone wants it, in Invercargill, new motor, I left town 5 years ago, to come over here for 6 months, left an e34 with my mate too..... But sold that.

Hiya'll, I got some ebay speciasls a while back, yeah yeah they'll fit an e34, offset's 20/22... I've had them sitting in the garage for a bit, got tyres on order, thought I'd see what they fit like as is... Yup, they're about 70mm too wide, on the strut... So what will they fit? it looks like I'll be selling them on... Could anybody tell me what BMW's they will fit please, and any guesstimates on how much they're likely to sell for. I'll see if I can trade thee tyres back to 17's. Chers Please resize your picture to 800 X 600 and repost

Latest Ministry of Transport Proposals
BlowMyWhistle replied to GreyE34's topic in General Discussion
Since when have they been so concerned with my personal well being? Is it my safety? or is it the chance to steal a few dollars off of us? easy to say a financial sanction is for our own good, so why don't they get down to the real issues that are killing people? the roads, innattention & sleepiness. Because they can't police these things! Sure I'm living in Oz, but we get the same s*it here, Got my foto taken last week 11k's over. That's walking speed over the limit! It's a crock, just a tax in disguise, after all who can argue against road safety? gawd when I was young we used to drive drunk til we couldn't see anymore! I never got caught, it was just the way back then, seen quite a few people get killed though! And that was really drunk, not a few sips over... I think most would agree we obey these laws for fear of sanction, rather than for any inherent risk! Grr. -
Hi'yall. Got for sale an e28 520i. It has a new head on it & has never been run since then. The motor's been sitting on a bench the last few years & the complete car's sitting in a sea container, out of that nasty polar weather. There's no radiator but otherwise complete. Put a rad in it & a battery & it will go! The body is tidy with no rust, it's an auto. Has factory mags with 70 profile tyres. It's got M badges on it, & on the rego papers. (hasn't been rego'd for a few years) But obviously a 2l auto... It's got the same options as a 535, spotlights sunroof spoiler... There's some pic's attached I've spent over $3k fixing this. I was gonna kep it for when my daughter was old enough to drive, legally... But we all moved to ozzy. i'd like to get $1000 for it. I gotta mate in Invers still who has the key for the container. This car would make a good project, they're not making these anymore... or a parts car.

Bilsteins into e34 M60
BlowMyWhistle replied to BlowMyWhistle's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Thanks! From my 'guy' V8's don't fit 6's & V.V I don't have a full item description, but think I'm buying just the struts, X springs. Brand new Bilsteins HD $450 U.S $130 delivery. Whats agood brand for springs, avoiding munroe, local brands etc. My daughter works for Super Cheap so I can get a 25% discount if the ebay sale falls thru! Chers -
Yeah, my bro's got a 88-89 318i. It's cutting out as the temp gets up to operating temp. Sparkie have told him it's the temp gauge inn the actual cluster, someone else suggests it's the sender, (in the side of the block??) Sorry I'm a bit low on details. curiosity really, the chance to discober something new etc, cos it's not like it's happenningto me! Another funny e30 moment: my daughters 320i, was cutting oput, just put a new fuel pump in it, after market... Turns out they dint wire the gauge right, cost her $200 callout for someone to tell her it was out of gas!!

Hi Y'all, I've posted this on general discussion, without much interest. Perhaps it's ma dumb question? So here goes again, let's just accept i'm dumb aye! I've got a ebay listing for a set of bilstein struts & springs from U.S. They just say e34, I'd need heavier springs on account mine's a V8 wooden eye? I can get them delivered to my door for about $700 aussie $ Mine are like 15 years old & are soft as... They dive under braking hard & clunk from the rear. I've also experienced the shimmy at 100k, I've replaced the large control arm bushing, but the little one at the front must be trashed cos it's rattling. I've got some 18" mags from an X5, another ebay bargain. The friendly peoples I bought them from say I need to machine them for the right offset, but they are fairly deep dish, look to me like they need to go the other way & fit spacers... Anyway, som POV's on the V8/6cylinder springs thing would be appreciated, i'm keen to get them asap, but obviously being on ebay I want to get it right! Cheer. It's a '94 e34 530i 234k's on the clock.

Hi Y'all, Time to spend a bit of money, e34 530, my shocks are knackered... I've also managed to get my filthy hands on a set of 18" rims X X5. I've been hunting down a few prices, best option to date is US direct, can have them here for about $700 aus. BBBut, does the 530/540 have heavier springs/shocks than a 6? Can I go to M S&S, dropping the old girl a couple of inches? I'd like to know before I commit to buying from uS, ebay etc. They have them listed as e34 520, 525, 530, 535, 540 same shocks/struts across the range.. PS they's are Bilstiens. Also with the off set X5 to e34, I've got the details somwhere, buit I believe I ned to get them machined, the new rims have a pretty deep dish already, I'm thinking spacers would be more appropriate? $400 on eby 4 4 rims, used but unmarked...Thanks y'all.

I read this a few weeks ago... I haven't been able to eat or sleep ever since, has affected me profoundly, I wake up at night, when I do sleep screaming. Notice whoever posted this did not leave a name, good call.

I've got a spare e23! The thing also here, like what's happened to us, you can be convicted & suspended in your absence, up to the individual to notify the court of their current address. So you can be suspended from driving by a court & not know about it! There's no real way of finding out either. Maybe there's something dodgy about that, but lesson learnt, cant let anybody drive your car. Work vehicles etc are not safe, they can be impounded, don't let anyone road test your car either! Must go, gotta pay the price, pick my girl up from work... I'll work on fotos for the boys, know they got sum on face book! They still put kids in prisons here too, Juvies!
-
They did a hell job of doing their job, above & beyond the call of duty! The girl had been convicted in her absence for a minor DIC DUI whatever & the hearing had been conducted in her absence. fine notice & license suspension sent to one of her previous addresses. She's a bit of a ruffy this girl, but i did have words with her & she didn't deliberately decieve us. driving whilst suspended, she just din tknow! There's 3 ways to check, ring a number, ofice hours only. Get a printout of traffic convictions, about $30 Go to Planning & infradstructure website fill in license details. Police say unfortunately these may not be up to date, could potentially miss more recent additions. It's not like you can take this to court & appeal it, say it's harsh, as mentioned above... It's dealt with by the police themselves. Even the senior oficer admitted this was a casualty, (of war) an unintended consequence. The police certainly did their job with zeal & enthusiasm, treating the girls like dogs!
-
Yeah they hell Nazi's over here! Doesn't go to court, deal with the police directly!!! No grounds for appeal (to snr sgt) unless extreme hardship... Sounds unfair, should be able to take it to a judge for impartiality. Imagine if the Police got to make the laws as wellas enforce them.. They real easy on drink drivers, the guy that TBoned my daughters car, last year, was on bail for 1 already, got a fine. No impounding for drink drivers, this laws just for hoons. That's what I miss living here, Besides the fishing, and the women, civil liberties! Meanwhile we've got an old 7 in the shed... the staff car! Says on the plates it's an '86 BMW 7 series, both lots!

yeah it is me, my daughter!

Hi y'all. I've a sad story to tell, sad cos it's true. My daughter was out last night, she was a little upset so her friend drove home. Thats in Mandurah to anyone that's ever been here, 1/2 NZ i think.. One of the hot spots for 'hoons flouting the law'. Turns out her friend has her license suspended & didn't even know about it... We tend to believe her. So Adele gets her car taken off her for 28 days & has to pay $850 towing & storage fees. Left her at the side of the road, standing in the rain! I know I cant utter profanities on this forum, so I will leave it to your imaginatin what I currently think of the state of the local cops. I rang the senior sgt at the cop shop, there's nothing he can do about it, it's all in house, doesn't go to court, therefore you cannot appeal it. I'm buying up shares in ka toa's & storage yards, one of the ka toa's made $1800 in an hour! Who benefits from this hasty piece of legislation? Not us, we're gunner have to ferry 'del to work & back for the next fedw weeks & she's gunner have to find $850 from her job at super cheap (even though she gets the best part of $500 a week) That's an adult wage in NZ! So I asked, how do you know if sum1 has their license, esp if they dont even know? There's a website DPI planning & infrastructure, you can fill in a form, pay your $25 & get the equivilant of a traffic police clearance. But no guarantees it's up to date. You can enter your own license number & birthdate, so it's at the individuals integrity... There's also a Fines Enforcement registry number you can call, Monday to friday, office hours!!! I asked how my daughter was to know at 10.30 on a saturday night? The answer "bad luck". This was a hasty bit of regulation pushed thru by pollies on the bandwagon, everywhere I've read it's been good luck to the cops, down with those terrible hoons, they deserve everything they get! The cops were absolute anuses, they had adele crying her eyes out in the back of a police car, they wouldn't let them use the toilet, they had to pee on the roadside... The official story, they can impound your car if the driver: is disqualified, due to a court suspension, it's an individuals responsibility to ensure contact details are up to date... It's just bad luck if you don't know about them... Also demerit point suspension, obviously disqualified, as opposed to suspended. Or if a license has bean cancelled. Don't apply to fine suspensions. Apparently they copied a bit of NZ legislation when drafting this law?/ At least back home we have a bill of rights, not here. It's okay here, thousands of Kiwi's here, weather's great, plenty of jobs. But the average ozzy is sum kind of back wood red neck, a olt of them anyway. This state's got more rules & regulations than anywhere in the world. There's heaps bent cops & politicians here too. We need more Kiwi's to come over here, we can make this place our own! Like I tell them, it's the next generation, your kids'r gonna end up working for our kids! While they can't be bothered getting out of bed, their nice cushy union sanctioned jobs, who's doing the real work??? it's no hardship to us. the easier yopu make it, the softer they get, the less work they want to do... Excuse me, I rant!!! Adele wanted to be a Police officer, I made her promise me on all the contraband!!! But she's gone right off that now!! This is bovine Excreta, they're lucky I wasn't there, treat my girl like that, then it wood be me spending another night in jail Just beware anyone over here, don't let anybody drive your car, even with an up to date traffic police clearance. Can't ring the hotline on a saturday night!!! Copulating Anuses!!!

Excuse me for interrupting, dont you say 'bump' when you do that? Here in Western Australia; you buy a car as roadworthy & you need never ever again have it tested for roadworthiness. Thats right, no WOF required. But if you let your registration lapse. you have to put the vehicle over the pits... There are some rust buckets getting around, old falcons etc you could put a boot thru the rust holes. The cops may issue a yellow(?) sticker if they pull you up & conduct a cursory examination on the roadside, then you will need to put it over the pits... Pretty scary really! Imagine how many cars don't have brakes? Leaky exhausts etc...? They have a 3rd party insurance which is compulsory, paid for on your annual relicensing fee $500~ But as far as I can know, if your'e out of license, you're not covered. Think it's more of a health insurance, rather than vehicle... If you are involved in an accident with a drinking driver, their insurance will not pay, you have to pursue the driver thru civil courts... Funny place this, strange rules etc. can tell the poms have been here!!!

I was told there are 2 pumps also. It was the primary, in tank pump. They replaced it with an aftermarket unit. Now the fuel gauge aint working, I'm wondering if it had the right connectors on it? They spent 2 hours on the car, so it's running very nicely. This fuel tank has 2 ports in it, the one on the drivers side, has the pump & the slider for the fuel gauge, but whats the other device in the left hand side of the tank? looks like another fuel gauge??I coulda fixed this whole thing myself for $95, a 2nd hand pump. but I pulled the pump & it worked...
-
$300 here in WA!
-
As I suspected. it was the fuel ,pump all along. When I took it out & bench tested it, it worked... And again when I reinstalled it, but only for 5 minutes... It had spark all along, so I never went for the suggested wiring option. Ended up costing ME $500! All to a good cause. Thanks anyways for your advice, it never goes unheard, next time something else goes wrong i'll be better able to fix it myself, in true kiwi fashion. My daughter has joined up here, Bite My Wire!! All she wants is to put big mags on her car... Vaguely remember being that age! Thanks again. Over & out.

The latest: Nothing! Took the relays out, 1 is permanently open, tested okay, the other 2? dunno, ran out of time, again, gonna make some room in the garage so I can look at it after dark. The first thing I checked was spark, ok spark. No more time to be messing with it, gunner call in mobile mechanic diagnostic onnit. TYhaks, will update when it's hopefully going again..
-
Update... I took the petroll pump out, tested it on the bench & it works. Put it all back in & it fired up & ran. We turned it off, started it again a few times. all okay. Went to go for a drive & it wouldn't start... I'd still like to know where the fuel pump relay is? I rang up my mate from Beemer Motor Workshop, he sez theres 3 different fuel pumps for e30's. Also there's a 2nd fuel pump inline sumwhere?? Trouble is, by the time I get home from my way so cushy job on the council, I've only got about an hour before it's dark. Our diagnosis fell thru so square 1 again... Got sum build numbers if thats any help? WBAAD62050A625707 bUILD DATE 6/89
