E30's are just pure quality all round. All you E36'ers should upgrade to an E30 when you get the chance.(right, that should spark a few angry replies )

just check, it is a piece of cake and will take you less than 1 minute. Get a torch, lie on your back and look at the diff. There will be a tag on it that will tell you your ratio. Cheers

The fact that they are much better than the stock ones. Either the Bilstein Sports or the Koni Sports seem to be the way to go, especially if you are going to change the stock springs to stiffer ones.Decent shocks and stiffer springs will greatly enhance the handling of your Bimmer (but make the ride a bit firmer). Sam is bang on the button. I had a 4.10 diff in my car when the manual conversion was done. It was a pig on the open road.I even found the 3.91 ratio to be a bit the same. I am much happier with the 3.72 (or 3.73...can't remember off hand) that is in there now. I may not win any 1/4 mile sprints, but so be it. Cheers

Have you checked your spark plugs? Also, how new is your air filter? Is it possible that this is really badly clogged. Also, check all of your intake components, and made sure that there are no leaks (i.e. check that the hoses are all connected securely). One more thing, is your oil dipstick in properly?
