Hi All I am getting more and more people asking if I can bring back Bilstein Sport Shocks from the USA when I am over there in September. This is a bit unrealistic due to weight restrictions, import duty etc, so I propose the following: I will investigate the importing of them into NZ (rather than me physically bringing them back), and see what kind of deal I can organise (including duty, freight etc). Who would be interested? Prices here are around $1,100 for them, I will try to get these here for around $800. Cheers

That is very funny, I might try them next week in the office. Cheers

If you can afford one, the last thing on your mind is the MPG.

Go back to bottlecaps, no worries about potholes or anything, just hit them full bore, if you bend one who cares, just get another one, they are cheap as dirt. Also you don't have to worry about some low life stealing them either. Cheers

How much is it?

It is simple, Porsche engineering pwns everything else. Always has, always will.

I see the Pinnacle Club tag on your key ring. Funny I live virtually next door, and still have not been there. I must call in for a beer there, It seems to be a cool place, a more old fashion drinking establishment. Cheers

Matt, you don't have a Motronic 325i ECU do you you want to get of do you? Cheers

yup, got the vid, it is awesome. Good to know that we will have one of those here in New Zealand. Colin Giltrap has one (as well as the new McLaren Mercedes SLR). However as it is LHD only, he has had to ship it to England for 6 months (to get around NZ's laws), then he can bring it back her and then register it. I went to see it when it was on display recently, it is just awesome. Better than the Ferrari Enzo in my opinion. Cheers

I like the green colour that Ryan's car is. It is pretty rare, I don't recall ever seeing an E30 the same colour. Cheers
-
I stand corrected. The more I think about it, the more I think it was an E36 too. Cheers

and call them mean names!!!

Ahhhh, The M3 pic has shown itself now. Very very nice. I do like a good E30 M3. Cheers
-
Gidday, and welcome to the site. Nice 323i, but where is the M3 photo, it never showed up. Nice wheels on the 323i too, love the Alpinas Cheers

I am pretty sure it was an E46 tooBut I could well be wrong Whatever it was, it was a modern car...more modern that an E30 anyway.

Sam, as Gus said, it was in a near new E46.

That is not true.A person experienced with 'manual' pulse braking will outbrake ABS. I have seen this shown in the flesh in a real trial. The newest versions of ABS are so non-obtrusive that most (even experienced) drivers do not even know it is there. A good example of this is the newest Lotus Elise. Even when driven on the track, an experienced racing test driver didn't think it had kicked in at all, but in actual fact the ABS system had kicked in on a number of occassions.

Oh yes, make that 2 sets of Bilstein Sports suspension.

Are you sure this is correct for an e30 318?, I''m using a 318 e30 inlet manifold on my 2002, it's only got one throttle body and the 318 head looks identical to a 2002 head - single cam 8 valves the E30 318is had a different engine to the non 'is' model. The 318is had a twin cam M42 engine, as opposed to the normal M10 or M40 318i engine. Cheers

My partner is American (from California), am going to meet her parents, and have a holiday. Oh and to bring back Bilstein Sports Suspension. Cheers

Absolutely, I couldn't agree more.

The next election in in November. The candidate against GWB is John Kerry, a Democrat. It will be interesting, to see what happens. I see the popular vote for GWB is ever decreasing. November is not too far away, so reversing the damage to GWB's credibility will be a monster task for his spin doctors. I will be there in September, so will have to endure the pre-election hype getting into gear. Cheers

correct me if I'm wrong,But all E30's have the 4 stud pattern, except the M3, which is 5 stud. Cheers

You must remember that a large proportion of the population in the USA consists of highly conservative, traditional, christian, lower-middle class, highly patriotic people, who feel that anything that goes against this way of life is bad (be it Muslim or Gay) and will blindly support and leader that looks like they are trying to retain their traditional values.GWB (and his advsiors) work very hard at saying that is what they are trying to do, and his support base genuinly believe that he is. That is how he gets votes, and why he is in power. Here in NZ we whould be thankful that we are a bit more open minded than that, and can take a much broader view of the world and can see what an idiot he is. GWB is no less dangerous, and a no less of a threat to world stability than any of the people he is trying to eliminate. Anyway, that is my take on it all. Cheers
