Excellent, thanks heaps Glenn. Now I can check the part numbers of all these bits to see what parts I have (I have become obsessed with seeing why my HP curve peaks so early). I want to discount all of the easy things before I consider changing the cam. I am also pleased that they all use the same fuel pump, as checking that would be a pita (and I wouldn't bother). Cheers

Can someone please help me here. I am after the comparative part numbers for the following components for both the Motronic E30 320i and Motronic E30 325i's (maybe they are the same part numbers, if so I want to know that too) The parts are: 1) Injectors 2) Air Flow Meter 3) Throttle Body 4) Fuel pump If anyone has the ETK CD, your assistance would be great (I have the CD's, but for some reason they refuse to load onto my laptop. They worked fine on my old PC that I have since gotten rid of). Cheers

I am pretty sure that the manual box is the same for a 320i as it is for a 325i E30. But find out what model Getrag is is (as Greame suggested) first. Cheers

There was no real drama for me in the conversion. I dropped my car off on a Wednesday, drove away in a loner, returned Friday afternoon, and drove away in my new 5spd version of my car.It happened as though it was done by magic (which also magically lightened my wallet). Cheers

Nice car, looks like a great purchase. You won't regret the move to the bigger engine. Cheers

or failing that, borrow the chip from an E30 325i Motronic ECU (should someone have replaced their standard chip with an aftermarket one). I am aware that the 320i and 325i ECU's are exactly the same with the exception of the chip (but I am reasonably confident that the chip has been changed already in my existing 320i ECU). Cheers

I suspect that the Tacho is reading wrong, can you get it checked and callibrated anywhere? I'm pretty sure that your 316i should rev to a fair bit higher than 4,000 rpm's Cheers

Hello Does anyone have an E30 Motronic ECU lying around that I could borrow? I just want try swapping one in my car (that currently has a 320i ECU in it) and see if it makes any difference (I have read that it shouldn't make any difference), but I am interested to find out. A long shot I know, but if you don't ask, you don't get. Cheers

Is that a common problem with ABS? If so, it must hit people all of the time, as most people would never use their ABS (except in emergencies). Cheers
-
What about this one. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....?showtopic=1142 Spend another $1500 (or there abouts) converting it to 5 spd, and you will have one good 5spd E30 320i. Cheers

and make sure you wear helmets.

Aren't the E36 M3 seats known as 'Vaders'?
-
not that one anyway, she is bad news.
-
yes, ABS with those monsters could come in handy.

That is awesome, just like waterskiing, but without a boat, water (well anything more than surface water), however I fear that the landing may be a little less forgiving too should it all go wrong. Cheers

Sam, you truly are a wealth of knowledge .

Bentley must be wrong (I can almost hear the gasps of shock).Neither of the two facelift E30's (my old 320i was a 1990, and my current 325i is 1991) had, or ever had ABS. Real drivers don't need ABS (but I'm sure in an emergency situation, it could come in handy)!!!
-
both of the facelift E30's I have owned have not had it, it is more uncommon, than common.Cheers

They are standard in Gus's car. They are E30 Recaro's.

Looking good big fella, keep up the good work. Watch the whiplash, when punching that brake pedal. Cheers
