Top effort all round, I admire your attitude. Good luck getting it all sorted.

He got off very lightly (from the Sac Bee)"Sacramento Kings guard Tyreke Evans pleaded no contest Friday to reckless driving. Evans, 20, was ordered to serve three years' informal probation and 80 hours of alternative sentencing, Sacramento County District Attorney Jan Scully said in a written announcement. His driver's license also was suspended for 30 days, and he was ordered to participate in two California Highway Patrol Start Smart Driving programs, educational programs targeting teenage drivers."

Yeah I always saw cars weaving in and out of traffic at 210 km/h (130mph) on Auckland's motorways I guess it is pretty safe, as all the other traffic on the freeway knew to expect two cars to be racing up behind/beside them, at twice the speed of normal traffic and not to change lanes.

The CHP released this video today, it is of Tyreke Evans, the NBA Rookie of the Year who plays for my local NBA Team on the freeway here on Memorial Day. http://blogs.sacbee.com/crime/archives/201...eleases-vi.html What an idiot!

That is a very nice looking car! I'm pretty partial to a white E36 with dark wheels.

You know the US and its media sensationalism. Anywhere that has its leading story for three days straight being Lindsay Lohan going to jail, and that Chelsea Clinton's toilets for her wedding are costing $15,000 should be taken with a grain of salt. All I'm saying is that the limited experience I have had with the actual product in hand is contrary to what is widely reported by the media. I'm also not saying that it is not an issue, just I believe nowhere near as bigger issue as people are lead to believe. I even tried hard to replicate the reception problem, with no luck. The caveat to that is that I have only played with the phone in Sacramento, and we have very good reception here. It may be more of an issue in areas like San Francisco or New York where the more crowded networks impact reception (although I understand AT&T are spending a fortune in both areas improving the network)

No-one outside of you in this thread said anything about "premium"You can kill a brand of any repute by doing something contrary to one of the brand's core values (real or perceived). The same would appply to Walmart if they suddenly started selling Gucci handbags and other luxury good at full price. I like to think that it enhances the brand, but I guess time will tell.

I know stacks of people with iPhone 4s. None of them are having issues with reception or dropped calls. The majority of them are using the phone without any case on it.I was meant to pick mine up two weeks ago, but I have held off to make sure that the issue is a storm in a tea cup. I'm now convinced that it is the exception to the rule so if I am near the Apple Store or an AT&T outlet will pick one up one this weekend. I agree that Apple's handing of the situation has been poor, but also think that the whole thing is blown way out of proportion.

Found this in 30 seconds on using a Google search (from an Australian news site): "Things appear to be going less swimmingly in New Zealand, which is two hours ahead of Sydney. According to local reports, Apple's deal with Vodafone has been canceled in that country as all mentions of the device disappeared from the carrier's site yesterday and no launch plans had been announced. We also received word that Vodafone has posted signs in its stores this morning stating that the launch will not be taking place today. The change would appear to leave customers scrambling, with unlocked iPhone 4 models at unsubsidized prices set to be available through Apple's online site as their only option in that country, although rumors also suggested the device might be available through other retailers there."

I laughed when I saw the price tag. At first I thought it was a mistake, and then I remembered that there is a sucker born every minute. Nice little car though, irrespective of the price. Of course, that is just my opinion.

Contact the librarian of the BMW Club of NZ. They have footage of some of the races on VHS if I remember correctly.

I appreciate the fact that the M1 is very rare, and think that it is worth the price because of its exclusivity, however I always think of the M1 and being a mongrel, and just thrown together so that they could meet the homologation rules for its real racing purpose. I could think of cars that if I wanted to spend that kind of cash, I would much prefer.

I can understand the anger about this, but agree with Bravo on this matter and in this instance. If the guy had shown none or very little remorse then I would be a lot more angry.
-
On that point we can agree.I like the fact that any one of three teams can win any of the races, not the usual one or occasional two horse races.

The good thing is that the All Blacks are at their best when counter attacking, and therefore playing on instinct rather than relying on set moves. I'm pretty sure, without looking into it, that the vast majority of the All Blacks tries this year have come from broken play, or opposition mistakes. If these were in fact set plays of the All Blacks, they will have plenty more, and that this is no big deal, and just media sensationalism and trying to make a big deal out of nothing.

Yeah, but they have limited, if any testing prior to racing. Also in the three years Schumacher has been out of racing the evolution of the F1 cars has been huge. For the drivers who have competed over those three years the evolution is incremental, for someone who has been out of racing the evolution is massive.I would expect him to make "mistakes all over the show", as you put it. You throw the word rookie in to describe Rosberg. Do you know what that means? Rosberg is far from a rookie, he is in 5th year of F1, and has competed in 82 F1 races. His car is not faster than most in the top 10, far from it. Which of the McLaren's, Ferrari's, RBR's or Renault's is the Mercedes f1 car faster than? I appreciate your trying to make an argument, but at least make it factual, and use semi-rational reasoning.

I agree wholeheartedly with this. I put it down to the whole 'never speak ill of the dead' mentality. In saying that though, I think that Senna was the best there ever was, even if many of his tactics i.e. blocking are not permitted today. I think after Schumacher croaks, he will only br remembered for the good things, and the not so good things will be forgotten.

What impressed my the most about the Veyron SS was the lap on the TG track. When watching it, I at first thought that the Stig was just taking it easy as he wasn't allowed to push the car near it's limits. It was just looked as though he was going for a Sunday drive. However the lap time proved otherwise. If I were a very rich person, I would not hesitate to buy one of these.

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport was staggering!
-
Haha, thats the same with my Passat. I don't think it has an unscratched or undented panel on it.My aim when I bought it was to buy something that I could park anywhere and not worry about it being broken into or stolen, and if by some small miracle it got broken into or stolen I wouldn't be too annoyed.

John, I'm not a moderator. I gave that up some time ago.I do agree though that the editing of posts is a little inconsistant. None of mine have been edited, yet by far mine used the most offensive and direct language.

I have a couple of sets of Skull Candy in ear headphones I use with my ipod and iphone. I think they are Smokin' Buds, but can't remember exactly. They are cheap as chips and a big improvement over the apple buds, both in terms of comfort and sound. However, I'm certainly no audiophile, so can't give any scientific justification, I just know they sound better and I can wear them for extended periods of time.

Wow - what a great transformation! Great work.
