No, first one I have ever seen. I'm sure there are a few in the San Francisco or LA area, but none I would imagine in the Sacramento region (Sacramento is very much a cowtown that also happens to be the State Capitol).Last year, Tesla and Toyota entered into a big agreement, and are converting a Toyota factory not too far from me into a production plant for the Tesla sedan that will be coming out soon. In return Toyota will utilize Tesla's technology in their EVs As far as hybrids go, they are everywhere here. Every fifth car is a Prius, Insight or hybrid Camry etc. The Californian Government makes them as attractive as possible to own with huge tax rebates, the ability to drive in carpool lanes, priority parking etc. Also now that PHEV/EV's are becoming more popular, progressive cities like San Francisco are putting in place special parks where you can plug in your PHEV/EV to recharge while you are parked. The building I work in, has recharge stations built into the carpark (it is a new building with a huge focus on environmental friendliness), but I have yet to see a PHEV/EV using them, and the parks are always taken up by normal hybrids.

Alex, your sig pic is very cool.

There may be one less decent driver this year: http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/motorsport/46...njured-in-Italy A better article: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport...one/9388940.stm

They spoke about this on Top Gear either last week or the week beforehand

I think it was just the way the sun was angling on the front of the car, and the fact the the photo was taken with my cellphone.I'm also not sure what to make of the 'haha' at the start of your post, I think that the Tesla is a great car.

Tesla Roadster on the Embarcadero in San Francisco.
-
I think you have hit the nail on the head here
-
I too commend your post Henry.
-
Agreed
-
That's the impression I got as well.

And here's the problem if anyone dares start a thread about a serious topic, you get idiotic uneducated responses like this. Karl, you seem like a bright guy, try acting like it, and not a smart assed idiot.
-
Brian, this is an off topic section of the forum, which would in itself lend this area to discuss exactly this type of topic.I also think that providing people can contribute with respect of others, then this could be interesting. The off topic is useful for more than just recycled jokes.

If you need viagra on your Honeymoon, something is very wrong!

Very cool. Hope it all goes well, I'm sure it will.

I had a new starter motor and valve cover gasket installed on the Passat. It is amazing how much better a car that starts without the assistance of a hammer, or push starting it is. Also the benefit of no longer having the smell of burning oil wafting into the cabin is nice.

That is a beautifully presented car. Good luck with the sale.

The other driver I will follow with interest will be Kobyashi (spelling??), I think he is very talented and his aggressive style is great to watch. To me last year, any team that wasn't RBR, Ferrari or McLaren were a second tier. No driver or team outside of these three were ever going to win a race under normal circumstances. In saying that, Renault may be a force to be reckoned with this year. I guess that time will tell. As much as I like Massa, I think Ferrari need another first rate driver along with Alonso to challenge McLaren and RBR. Massa just doesn't have the mental fortitude to be a real challenge.
-
I agree, Kubica is the best driver in a second tier car. I also think Vettel will win the championship, he is the driver with the most potential, who will only mature with time. Webber blew his only chance last year, he will be a definite number 2 this year. I still think that the best driver at the moment without a doubt is Hamilton, and assuming his Mclaren is a step up from a lot of last year, he will be a Vettel's main rival.

Fantastic effort. It looks great.

I second that. Top effort.

From the same BBQ. I think that all three of these E30's are now BMW race series race cars (at least 2 of the three are), I'm not sure of Dave's old 320

Here is the BBQ trailer
-
I suspect that this is your car in the background in this photo from the Bimmersport BBQ at Long Bay, which was actually in 2004?
-
That BBQ at Long Bay was good fun. My fondest memory was the purpose built BBQ trailer that someone brought with them. I'll try and find some photos. Great looking car!
