  1. Yup - as soon as I get the 328i back, next step is to get Keith to sort me out with H&R's etc for it. I was impressed with the H&R's in my E30 when I had it, and Gus has been ever since he inherited them from me after I destroyed my E30. Cheers Grant

    Reborn E28 M535i

Very well done - nice work indeed. How many cars does that make it now?? Cheers Grant
  3. I subscribe to some, and just use the built in reader in IE7.

    Spy Photos

Yeah - I was thinking that something as earth shattering as this, and important to the BMW world, should be in fact in the news section, and be mandatory reading. Spy shots like this are a rare thing, I am staggered at how close you managed to get, without being caught as well as the great photos showing the car in all its detail. Nice work - you have missed your calling.
  5. I'm divided.....I quite like both, but ultimately, if it were my car, would keep it chrome (stock) - but then I'm pretty conservative. Cheers Grant
  6. It looks really good (I still think the wheels are too big....but enough about that), very nice work though - great looking car. Cheers Grant
  7. I'm inclined to agree. Although I am likely to vote Labour again, I won't be too disappointed either way...but then again I won't be living here during the majority of the next electoral term, so it won't matter to me too much. Cheers Grant

    Crack-Free E30 Dash

Well put. Just put a price on it and save a lot of hassle, you must know how much you want for it.
  9. you are still wrong. You can easily rev any normal E36 higher than 2000 rpm's from a cold start...manual or auto. Cheers Grant
  10. Guys, use PM's for this kind of banter, it clogs the forum, and 99% of other people aren't interested in it, nor does it have anything to do with BMW's.Cheers Grant
  11. This is contrary to what I have experienced with them. They have always been excellent, with both my old E30 and the E36 that they have had in a few times for bits and pieces. They have always been great with customer service, diagnosing problems, keeping me updated, and getting approval for other bits of work they find that need doing. I have my other E36 with Glenn at Botany Motor Worx at the moment - as he is a site sponsor, and deserves our support. If Glenn wasn't around, It would be at the BM Workshop in a shot. Also, I have had AA tests done on three cars I have bought in the past, with mixed results. One one E30 i bought, they diagnosed a number of problems....but when I went to get them fixed half of them weren't a problem and were miss-diagnosed (on the upside, i negotiated the price down on the basis of the AA report's perceived problems). Cheers Grant
  12. I'd say, that it would be worth 7 - 8k, if as good as it sounds
  13. Yup - small world. It is in having major surgery now. I think the list of stuff I am having done to it, is longer than my arm (but that is expected at that many km's). Cheers Grant
  14. We could have saved each other a lot of hassle. I very recently bought a 328 in Christchurch, and collected it and drove to Auckland. I should hsve just bought the Auckland one, and you the Christchurch one. Welcome Cheers Grant
  15. I agree, they aren't my cup of tea either.. to me they look a bit oversized, but then my opinion is just that, one opinion and I am in the minority by far. Enjoy. Cheers Grant
  16. Welcome, I've seen your car around the Newton area a fair bit (disctinctive number plate). Cheers Grant
  17. Please - it really hard to read.
  18. Good god.... Sorry to hear that Josh.
  19. Interestingly enough, three weekends ago, I filled up in Kaikoura (driving from Christchurch to Auckland), and then only needed to re-fuel again in Te Kuiti in my E36 328i. I thought that was pretty good going. The orange light had only just come on too when I got to Te Kuiti. I never reset the trip meter the first time, so not sure of the exact length of the trip. Cheers Grant
  20. We have both a Vodafone (mine) and Telecom (Brook's) phone. Both companies/phones as good (or bad) as each other. Both bills are within a few $$ of each other each month - but they are both "company" phones, so I don't really pay too much attention to the bills, just write a cheque out each month, and let my accountant worry about the rest. From memory the bill's are normally about $75 each per month. That doesn't seem too bad to me. But then again, we don't exactly have much usage outside of making/receiving calls, sending a few texts and sending a few photos. Both our phones have MP3 players, and mine has a 2MP camera (Brook's has a much more useless camera). We don't download music, as it is easy enough to transfer from a PC. However I have very rarely used the MP3 player, as I have an iPod for listening to music. We don't use mobile internet etc, so can't comment on that. Mine has 1GB of memory...but it is probably 95% empty still. My phone is 3G - but I turned it off the day I got the phone, as the battery lasts a lot longer with it off, never needed it on since.
