  1. And if you surf, purukanui bay has some pretty amazing surf.. Make sure you keep the speed down between Fairlie and Tekapo, drove through this morning and between 9 and 915 I saw 4 patrol cars, 1 wagon and 2 undercovers, and 1 of those were following me. And all between Burkes Pass and Tekapo. Crazy.

    Anyone got any jokes?

That boxing fight on Saturday night.. Hope no one paid for it!
  3. Well.. Cromwell not much to see their really. Wanaka? Glenorchy Pretty much all these little towns on the link below are worth a visit and away from major touristy things to do. All are old school mining era towns, or left over towns from aroun the mid 1800's Macetown is cool, old stone huts etc, St Bathans is worth a look, Naseby etc. http://www.doc.govt.nz/conservation/histor...y-region/otago/ If you come up from Bluff i would suggest go through the catlins, stop of at Papatowai, through Owaka, stop off at Nugget Point, then up through Dunedin ways.. Moeraki, check out the Boulders.
  4. Impulse buy much? I just dropped 6k on my new MTB, even though i have another 2 sitting in the garage, and i am constantly justifying it to myself too.. You seem pretty set on it, hope it goes well and seems like a good deal.
  5. How would one beat rising insurance premiums with an appreciating car? Hope he had a lifetime quote from when he first got it..
  6. double post.. flood control stuffed something up, so please delete one.. The best part.. "BMW became well known for sound ergonmics. The only fly in the ointment was the organ-style gas pedal, that made one's ankle bend uncomfortably with small throttle openings. The solution was to drive faster (courtesy Christian Hartmann)." I really like the big pedal, i now find my foot slides off the bottom when using smaller pedals.
  7. The BMW 5 Series a lot of the good parts are not shown however, so someone has to buy it and share.. plus there are a few good ones under related books
  8. What car are you using? I used the 07 M5 Chassis weight reduction=stage 3 Window weight reduction Carbon bonnet: Fully customizable race transmission=top speed 320kmh Clutch: Twin plate Flywheel: Semi racing Adjustable LSD Carbon Drive-shaft Suspension: Fully Customizable Racing Hard Tires Aero Mod= Down-force: 00/20 Ride Height: -5 / -5 Spring Rate 10 / 8 Dampers (Extension): 6 / 5 Dampers (Compression): 6 / 5 Anti Roll Bars 4 / 5 Camber Angle 0.9 / 0.8 Toe Angle 0 / 0.03 And all driving aids off I always try and get in the top 3 within the first few corners, on the Nurburgring when you come to the first tight left hand corner you need to be ruthless as, coming in on the left side and slam into someone if you have to to get past as many cars as poss.. im always 3/4 after that corner.. if not i start again.. then all you need to worry about are the top 3, and only pass on the straights or out-brake someone on a tight corner.. but it is a hard track to pass on.
  9. Just bought this on tuesday from JB hifi on the cost plus gst night.. $94 only saved 5 bucks... Up to Level 10 with the RX7 RZ as my main car and some motul civic that i won which isnt bad plus all those other cars that get won on the way. Can you sell cars? im sure you used to able to?? will be online soon, just need to upskill myself and sit the I/C licence
  10. Also play BFBC2 heaps.. but havent done the 1.2gb update yet as im over my cap for the month.. so wont be on for a few weeks.. been hitting Medal of Honour which isnt bad.. Will add you when i do.. PSN - DEFnz Will be getting GT5 later.. maybe after summer
  11. Looks angry, it would scare a few people when the look in their rear view mirror.. It screams "IM GOING TO FU#KEN EAT YOU! MOVE!!!" Id definitely add it to the long list of bmw's i want to own.
  12. No they werent paying for the show.. I assume its a form of marketing, they would pay the production company $ 50,000 or whatever to be associated with it and give a car to the winner, and of course they wont get a high end one. Terry was always in a BMW when you saw him driving.. well, being driven around, that was the CEO's personal car.
  13. And this V8 E46 Hartge H50 with the s62 supercharged.. Performance Peak Power: 493 bhp @ 6300 rpmPeak Torque: 502 lb-ft @ 4000 rpm0-62 mph: 4.2 sec.Top Speed: 193 mph
  14. with the S62 from the E39 M5.. F@#ken awesome..
  15. I think thats the producers rather than BMW themselves.. Who complains about free stuff anyway?
  16. As far as "company cars" go its alright, how many of you that have a company car get a choice of what the company gives you to drive and what spec it comes in? not many i bet.. Would be better than getting a mazda 3 hatch or a smart ka.. Imagine if Great Wall or Geely sponsored the show! haha He didnt have to drive it, he couldve just left it in the garage..
  17. The Sultan of Brunei's Big Real Estate Deal by Deidre Woollard (RSS feed) Jul 29th 2005 at 6:14PM sultan When a sultan sells, it's big news. The Sultan of Brunei has sold all 11 of his houses in Herne Bay, Auckland in one fell swoop for almost $35 million (New Zealand Dollars). It's New Zealand's single biggest real estate hit ever. The sale itself took over a year to close. For the Sultan, one of the world's richest men, the deal represents a small increase to his massive fortune. The sultan bought his first mansion in Auckland ten years ago but overall he didn't spend much time in his homes. Some of them were rented but the sultan preferred to spend time in a hotel when he travelled to New Zealand. A New Zealand investor bought all the properties but any news of what he plans to do with them is yet to be forthcoming.
  18. I think he must have some sort of relationship with NZ to be bringing them over here? last place id try and sell these sort of cars, i used to know two ex kiwi SAS guys from my surf club that were his personal bodyguards.. Same as the King of Jordan.. he had a team of ex kiwi SAS guys as his bodyguards, i suppose they have a good rep
  19. When applying for credit cards etc, they will decline you if youve been at a certain address for less than 6 months.. I really dont see why its relevant? i was turned down once and was informed it was this reason.. So I always use my parents address for things like that, 20 years at the same address looks good i suppose, despite it looks like i still live at home, i actually moved out 11 years ago..
  20. You should see if you can get an overdraft, should be sweet as you are a student.. just have it at whatever the douchebags rent is, rent will go out and it wont be your banking history thatll be getting screwed plus that way youll save the o/d fees.. Hope the power isnt in your name too?
  21. Worst protest ever.. Man burns BMW in protest over gas Saw this in the NZHerald today.. Angry BMW owner takes an employee hostage *edit* shouldve read the news first...
  22. National Bank.. Iphone app is real good, can do all my banking from it, transfers, one off payments etc etc I really like the fact your account is managed by one person rather than everyone, so whenever i need something i.e visa, travel insurance, loan etc, i only need to talk to him and he has all my details so things only take a matter of minutes.. managed to get an overdraft while in oz and was done straight away over the phone. It helps if they are a good c#nt too, he was and ive been getting hooked up since i joined.. And now its even better as my account manager is now the manager of my bank. Has sorted me a pre approved mortgage of 350,000 if i want it with no deposit.. To be honest if you get a good rapport with someone it doesnt really matter what bank you go with.. Heres my lowdown. Kiwibank.. Cheap rates etc, but very impersonal plus you have to go to the post office which is always busy and have to line up, the ATM's are crappy and most are loud and make noises when you push buttons.. its almost saying "come mug me in getting money out!" Phone banking was crap Asb.. trying too hard, and i hate their deposit slips and funky systems, and the receipts are that heat printed eftpos type paper, thank god those goldstein ads have finished. Have heard they are good for trusts etc. Not a fan of their phone banking. Anz.. ok, similar to National but dont have that personal touch, was with them from when i was 12 until 18.. Good phone banking.. Some of those smaller "Banks" such as TSB and SBS etc are supposed to be good too..
