We're taking over.. Still yet to see another imola red 540.. I've only seen two e39's one was the 535i on TM for a year, only had 69,000 was asking over 20k And I think another in welly.

Only thing with retrofitting is the cost, the few thou you will spend couldve gone towards an e39 that has it already I'm sure if it doesn't have nav/screen you have to put in a new loom. Not sure what's needed with cruise control/steering wheel but might be better off finding one that has it already. If you do get it think about that new android based dynavin unit, looks pretty good. Will be on my list if I keep my e39. Check out the thread about the dynavin

As far as I know there isn't any difference mechanically, perhaps they used some local made Japanese parts though? The one thing that puts me off jap cars is the key fob is infra-red rather than the wireless "diamond" shape key. And now the multi-function wheel without functions.. Just weird.. Even in the auction listed above by tmase they say multi-function wheel, but no functions.

Pics weren't working for me so couldn't see it.. But isn't it a 530i motorsport? Can't be low spec. Pics are going now, it's an imported 1 owner with 95k so it'll be ex sing or jap.. Perhaps the airbag was deployed? as i'm sure the 01 came with the newer style steering wheel? But looks weird without the controls, maybe a replica wheel?

I'm sure it's warrant before rego? As you have to have a warrant to get a rego. I may be mistaken however, take a quick squiz on NZTA.

Has he told you it doesn't? I'm 99% sure it will have cruise control unless its been disconnected?

Yeah it's nice, a little expensive but could work him down.. He is the guy selling.. If not sold already the Lexus v8 e34, that was on trademe for ages.

Might be able to sneakily drive it somewhere close but I'm sure you'd have to get it on a trailer and tow it which would be the legit way.. Maybe someone on here could loan you one??

My foots a little heavy.. 15.5 l/100km, although I just put in a straight pipe so have been making it sing a little. Best was 13.5 when concentrating on it.

I actually think its a light metallic green colour, kinda hard to describe. But looks the same wheel wise however, it's usually parked out on the street, his x5 goes in the garage.

There is a really nice m635csi manual on Cleveland rd in Parnell, sounds wicked and has some nice deep dish bbs rims.

Yeah, there was that nice silver with the type 2 schnitzers on for 15 I think. It looks nice and Nz new too, just can't justify swapping mine for it though.

Exhaust = Straight Pipe instead of the muffler, leave the resonator and cats. Just did this on my e39 540, great note and not falcodore sound, or droney, just right. What tyres are you running? Also brakes, how do you mean not good? Maybe new brake lines could fix it?

It was on for 12,999...! Took it for a spin, extremely hard brake pedal, slight vibration at 90-100, so the control arms are on their way out. Looks like the original radiator? Had a BMW sticker on it that looked old/original. SLS has been removed, interior looked pretty good however. The owner of the yard seemed like a g.c though, owns a 02 530i msport. Has spent heaps on it, about 3k, new suspension, mags, tyres, engine mounts, tints getting done today, a few other bits and pieces. Poor bastard, is going to take a hit on it. Think he was trying to sell to the niche old school touring market. Was keen to do whatever I wanted to it to get me into it. Wanted a direct swap for mine though??
