Hey man Well done mate, you've done a bloody awesome job and its all legal and legit just got to avoid the attention of the power trippn coppers that lurk around re: your wheels, dont get me wrong there are some gc coppers round but it seems they are getting few and far between. Anyways, back on topic, kudos mate, i'm extremely envious of your determination and persiverance (spelling?!!!) and the result looks a million bucks dude. I havent been on here for months because i couldnt be bothered with the bs that was going on but lets not stir that one again. Seeing this on here made it worth it. Cheers man, happy driving might catch you one day in Ham's or maybe even in tauranga if you ever venture that way lol. Pete.

heh nice one bout time someone cleared the air, let the moderators do their job if you dont like it, start your own forum and see just how easy it is to deal with the sh*t, everyone is entitled to their own opinon. Unless its constructive advice, support or suggestion, there is every chance it'll be deleted. IMO the point of this forum is to show off your car/project, and all things related. Am i wrong? more than likely but unless you want to have to read through pages and pages of bullshit just to find an answer that is helpful that a level headed person like (imo again) dave has written, then pull your heads in and keep it simple. my 2c's. good night. Chill out!

Ok so any recommendations on places to purchase rings bearings gaskets etc, any bad experiances with certain brands. Can PM me if you dont want to go dishing dirt for everyone to see! Cheers heaps, Pete.

Hey there Ive been searching all over the net for information on building m20b27 engines and have all bar a few facts i need. I have the following: 885 head complete M20b27 block complete(well until last night that is), it has the the casting no. [27 6E A]. Now I believe that there were two slightly different types of m20b27, and I am led to believe I have the higher compression one. The pistons have an approximately 1mm raised centre and I think the other ones have a dished piston? I am stuggling to find the info I need. I had a magazine i got off mark247 but im blowed if i can find it. It had all the info about the above and i think i saw someones scan of it on here but cant find it. It was a uk BMW mag perhaps? Can any one tell me what compression ratio this block/engine is? It came out of a german assembled 1986 525e and had the 200 head and motronic ignition, also was an auto. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers, Pete.

Water Pump had crapped itself, cheers mark247 for replacing that when you did the cambelt!!!!!! Anyways bygones be, rang Gavin and had a new Water Pump on My doorstep next morning for a very modest price, far cheaper than BMW. Cheers to Gavin and his straight up excellent fast service. oh and just to make things more fun got to mates place christmas eve and went to leave and coolant everywhere again, bloody front head frost plug below cam has sprung a leak so guess wat i spent boxing day doing, after creating some garden art for my mates mum for chistmas day lol!!!

Bloody grouse mate (pardon my french or sumthin), thats one slick looking e34. Very jealous indeed Keep up the good work man
-
also that probly includes cost of the tyres initially so theres 2-2,5k already and 7-8k for custom rims of that size is not unheard of.... just my 2c's haha

keep going soldier! Mate, if you think thats bad then your lucky, you should see whats left of my capri im attempting to rebuild, its a bloody headache tbh, but theyre worth too much and look way too cool to give up. Another thing i've found is that once you've fixed all this kinda crap you have the piece of mind that you now know the condition of the car inside and out and there is very little chance you will have any more problems with the body work. Keep it up man these things are worth fixing. Btw, this has to be one of the tidiest pfl e30's ive seen, chin up pal, your not alone!!!! haha cheers dude.

cheers will get onto them this week is it possible to buy a new intake/induction pipe also for m20b25
-
need one also haha anyone?

Probably just being a pain in the arse but im running a getrag 240 behind my m20b25, and then through a 3.45:1 lsd, not sure how accurate my speedo is but i'm doing 2500rpm at 100kph i'm running 195/60/r14s which the car had on it when i got it, but i have noticed that most run 195/65/r14s not sure how bigger difference this makes. Also with the m20b27 the rpm's will get even lower no doubt when i get it sorted and installed that is

Hey all havent said alot on hea will do a decent post when car is worthy of bimmersport recognition lol i bought secondhand h&r springs off good old tm was supposed to be 40mm rears 30mm fronts turns out i got 50mm fronts and 40mm rears had the mad rake goin on looked pretty cool but handled like shoit pardon me french so after having a wee woopsie in the wet and nosed into a ditch!!! whoops I had to pull front of the car apart So at the same time i machined the shoulder on my front shocks which the top hat sits on, down the shock 20mm and made up 50mm dia 20mm thick alloy spacers that go between the top hat and the top mount therefore giving me shorter travel and the stiffness of 50mm h&r spings yet it bottoms out 20mms earlier keeping my sump out of harms reach worked quite well if i say so myself lol also my car sits perfectly level now and handles bloody choice considering its just shitty replacement gas shocks in the front
