    oil filter

BTW, you can do special orders of those HUGE sockets from the likes of Repco. They are not cheap though... Ask them at the counter.

    oil filter

large adjustable wrench (like the ones used by plumbers) don't over-tighten when doing it back up though...
  3. You'll need an SRS reset tool or visit an auto electrician that does have BMW computers or a dealer for an reset. Are you sure it's not an co-incidence of the seat sensors? They are known to fail after a few years.
  4. soak a towel wth iso or myth and put that on the eggs for a few minutes will help it the eggs gets off a bit easier. Remember to re-wax the area because eggs are acidic (amino acid).

    DUI Stop

nice dance~ You only see these with the Americans....
  6. Agreed. 150kay is probably bad enough, let alone 250kay.Save that for the tracks.
  7. I believe all M1s are made left hand drive. So it won't be NZ-new for sure.
  8. looks like a tank with 7-series headlight. That's a piece-o-sh*t
  9. I got mine from Paul Money few months ago. (4 maybe 5 months) Just out of curiosity... Which headunit have you got?

    Clutch broke

I would never question about a discount. Who know, maybe this time the big boss is listening and will chop that discount from everyone in future.

    Clutch broke

Did you go to the main one at Takapuna or the small one near Wairau (Silverfield I think...)??I service mine at the Wairau one and they are really nice. Good price on parts and labour too~ Best of all, they seem to know what they are talking about BTW, Team McMillan tried to quoted me 3 hours worth of labour for changing 1 front wheel bearing. (@$108 per hour +GST) Finally got that done at JC for under 1 hour at a cheaper rate too! (Parts and labour total under $350 incl GST) Blacklist McMillan!!! Edited for typo.
  12. that look much like a mini 645ci
  13. Not bad... smaller rear window, slightly lower roof and a bit longer bonnet would be nice maybe drop an inch at the suepension too~
  14. Honda seem to respond well to high octane petrol especially those DOHC VTEC ones. I guess they are meant for Jap fuel (100 octane)

    How low???

Bumper and Exhaust don't count. It's 100mm from lower point of chassic to ground without going thru LVV Certs. Not too sure about those tie-rods and steering stuff count as chassic.
  16. point taken... but if he's gonna keep his car for a while, start going to somewhere reputable is not a bad idea. I would say 3-4 years worth of receipts is as good as a Full history since new as far as resale value goes. As long as everything that suppose to be changed is changed for its time/milage.
  17. So far I am quite lucky, bought my e36 without pre-purchase check, no service history and freshly imported into the country for 6 weeks (from Jap) and it quite nicely (except for a cr*pped out wheel bearing which all e36s do sooner or later). Did a full service on it and still quite a bit cheaper than same model of equivalent age and miles. When you talk to the seller, you will get a sense of how good the person treats his/her car and I bank on that.

    Crinkle Paint

I guess anything that's specifically says heat resistant. Probably Repco and SuperCheap(not sure about their prices) Placemakers, Bunnings, Mitre10 should have them too~
  19. I was looking for being "indifferent" for the old and new as I thought they are just marketing hype for changing colour but keep the branding. I have to say I was plesantly surprised.
  20. as topic, I just had a tank of that in. Compare to the old Ultima (Gold gun), it's so different. The gold gun 98 feels like other's 96. This Blue gun 98 is definitely an improvement over 96. Seems to use less fuel too (the fuel usage meter thing below the rev meter is showing higher for the same throttle and speed) Just a point though, I heard that the ECU adopt to new fuel pretty quickly but do a a couple of full rev acceleration will help the ECU do it quicker. Myth or Fact, don't really care. But it seemed to work.
  21. I heard that the stock ECU have some ability to adopt to mods like exhaust, intake and cams. If that's true, then what are those chips does that the stock ECU don't?
  22. If there's complusory insurance, the insurance rate should drop because there's more people buying it. The tosspots will still have premium so high, if they can't afford it they can drive something unregistered or walk. Any economist here??
  23. as topic, anyone bought anything from those guys? Are they good (service and support)? They didn't say whether the lights are for left hand drive or right hand drive. (Left drive have higher beam pattern towards the right side and vice versa) I presume they sell the ones for left drives being an American site, but are the light output be easily adjustable? (projector/ellipsoid lights) Thanks!
  24. If you have pretty deep pockets, you could probably ask the dealer to fit the 2002/3 e39 headlight assemblies. Not only you get the angel eyes, you will get proper HID lights too. Will cost a few grand though... Someone correct me if they don't fit due to model year differences.
  25. Is it Bellars or Burgers? (or are they the same one??) There's a Burgers Motor Works that do BMWs & Mercs on the shore as well...
