  1. I cant remmeber what I paid for mine, but I think I paid $10 for it as I bought a few other items (cos it had damage on it - a piece right at the back was cracked off) hence my comment "compacted cardboard rubbish"
  2. I just got one off a person on Trademe. Didnt realise they were made of compacted cardboard rubbish!? Now I just need the clips...anbody got some clips they wanna sell me? I need all of them. By the sounds of it, these boards must be hard to find nowadays?
  3. I Noticed this is broken. As per photo 1, it sits inside the drivers front wheel arch. 2nd photo is of it removed. Mine is cracked, so I'm wanting one that is not cracked. I'm also needing the plastic cover that goes under the front of the engine (photo 3) as its got a peice broken off as you can see in the photo. Just wanting to replace broken & worn out bits of the car...I'm not going to add this to my WTB ad on Trademe or on here cause I dont know what they're called? So if you got either of these 2 items, how much you want for them/it? Would be good if you could include the clips & screws aswell thanks. Cheers Photo 1- Also, if you got the piece that you can see has 2 broken holes (its goes right around under the wheel arch) I'd be keen on that piece too.
  4. Yeah I understand the rear will sit higher. I just want to upgrade or at least replace, my current pads (from & back) mainly cos they just look like crap & be good to make the car look better. Will slowly replace things here n there until I decide its time to sell (I may talk my self out of it yet lol!) And Forrest, did you buy those exact pads? Did they fit good?
  5. Just saw these on Trademe. They are for the rear springs. Was thinking of buying some. Is that a good price, and are they ideal replacements? Cos if I remember rightly, the factory pads are different? Also heard, compressing, if not done right, can weaken the spring which in time will cause it to crack etc. A pretty technical procedure by the sounds of what I've heard - having to make sure each spring is heated & cooled correctly. Wouldnt be cheap either... Just tell the knob to go buy lowering springs.

  8. If I hadnt put mine on yet, Id go see what it looks like Would it work though? Cos the eyelids are made to go on the top, where as the bottom wouldnt line up correctly?
  9. hahah why compress when proper lowering springs are pretty cheap (probably cheaper than compressing) on Trademe? Arent Compressed springs just as dodgy as cutties?
  10. Doesnt look too bad - kind of matches the red part of the sticker on the rear. Would be interesting to know how they do it.

    Kaz. Same reply I gave OP. Jam it on Trademe, start bid $1000, say give offers. See what happens. With a plate like that, and the fact Plates.co.nz are running out of ideas SUPER FAST, Original plates likes BMWE30 & MY E30 will, become Unique & Wanted. Just takes time for the right person to show up - I'd just sit on it bro until that day - just keep relisting (its free).
  12. 2nd one looks good. Im not a fan of the colour Red, but Im sure I can get over that if it was very tidy (could always get it repainted anyways). Cheer Andrew, gives me an idea of what I to look for. And yeah, I dont mind buying another Auto & just doing a conversion on it...but that means I wouldnt pay much more than $4G though if its a Auto.

Was worst before I matt blacked it. trust me. the original paint was absolute **** with dents all over it & one big nasty gauge in the rear left door which was nicely bogged by my mate (you'd only notice it if I pointed it out). If the car wasnt constintly costing me $ keeping it running (leaks & noises just keep popping up one after the other - I think I get it all then another thing starts) I would repaint it & clear coat it...but nah...lost interest. AshR- I dunno. It will be standard apart from the paint & exhaust though. I will remove everything: springs, steering wheel & bosskit, sounds etc. I can get some photos tomorrow if its sunny... EDIT: Before I sell it, I will do the following, just so if someone is keen to buy they cant try drop the price due to these: powersteering flush (its all black), thermostat replaced, leak in trans will be fixed. And .... see my WTB for what I think needs replacing which I will do if I feel like it before I sell it.

  15. Thats what Im asking. As to what price range I would be looking at. So once I do sell my POS, and finish my other FIRST project, I know how much to save. So $4G would be lucky to get a semi mint 325?

No doubt, the dealer has put this car thru a spotless car clean (every nook 'n cranny haha).

  18. Well considering lets say just a random guess, 30% of this country is young people who love driving their cars...the PMs are gonna have to listen! If the laws do come in, just imagine the REAL protests that are going to happen - outside Parliament. The new Laws, I know for a fact, for just make matters worst - not neccesarily towards the driving side, but what else are people going to do if they cant go out "rolling"? Dont say "sleep" cos how many 16-25 year olds do you know, on a Friday night, will just go to bed after 10pm?
  19. Am thinking of selling my E30 and then later on maybe like early next year, buy me another nicer & more reliable E30 (one that only needs personal touches NOT major repairs etc). So, what kind of E30 prefer 325 or bigger (must be4door) & in what condition, do you think I could buy for say $3000-$4000? Preferably with a few small mods eg exhaust, CAI, suspension - whatever - may be standard for that price I guess? Is that just a joke or could I possibly find a very nice one for that price range? Have had a look on Trademe, but there is bugger all on there and the ones that are, are either 318i (what I already got) or are so standard & run down its stupid. Any suggestions? Oh, and what $ should I ask for my car? Im going to remove the springs, steering wheel + bosskit, eyelids & cd player. So be basically standard apart from the exhaust tip & paintjob. AND NO: I wont be chroming it up or welding the doors lol! I just want a nice E30 which I can be proud of...the one I got now, is just a joke now. Costing me more $ that is worth!
  20. Yep. Was a good turn out. Nothing stupid or bad happened. 47 odd warnings for breach of liquor ban (no doubt the outa towners - there is NO signs?) 1 DIC but they passed once they got to the station and 2 arrest (suspected to be 2 chicks that had a scrap). So for 600+ cars & 1500+ people - cant complain!?

    Yes. What someone in prepared to pay is correct. But if you hold on to it, knowning a few people have offered for it, someone is bound to come across a bit of cash one day & see this forsale & think hell, I want it & guess what you got 3 times the $400 offer. I'd put on Trademe for $1G start bid and say MAKE GENUINE OFFERS. And see what happens. Be more people on Trademe looking Plates than there is on here.

    Genuine Plate. Its gotta be worth heaps - just gotta wait for the right person tocome along. Theres only one way you can buy this plate without buying the original and thats putting an O instead of a 0 in E30 - which makes it a replica (copy). If I had the $ I'd pay up for it!
  24. Are 2.3L engine sump removal any different from the 1.8L sump removal? When I done mine, we just jacked the engine up as far as it would allow and had enough clearance - so didnt remove anything like I was told (on here) that we had too. Saved a good few hours. But I dont know how much different the 2.3 is, if any difference?
