If Nick orders in anymore of these in the future, I highly recommend you buy a pair for your E30. They look pretty staunch. But, not sure how well they will go down for a WOF as they block your Parklights - unless the WOF guy aint fusy you should be good.

I learnt that the hard way. A local wrecker wanted $150 for the complete sump. And lucky I found this forum cos I got both parts for $85 all up (off 2 members on here - 1 bit of each person). So P#1- dont let that deal walk away...if I had the cash I'd buy it for a spare!

If engine is standard, it would just be more of a comestic modification?! Just like when people put in those colour & shaped powersteering, engine overflow/breather catch tanks etc. Just for looks, no gains in performance. But yeah, I wouldnt know. Glenn is very onto it so I'd say listen to him if your mate wants Performance.

By the end of this year, I will be entitled to approx 30days - as I hardly ever take days off (not even sick days - I have nearly 2weeks owing). My Boss told me he is going to give me a week, maye 2, off soon. As I do not need that many days for the Xmas/New Year breakup - I will still have about a week left next year to play with if I chose to. He isnt giving me the whole lot, just some - otherwise I wont have any for the Holiday break. He isnt forcing me either, he jst told me he'd like me to take it - which I said "hell yes". Just waiting for him to say when! But forcing you take the whole lot, sounds a bit unfair! Tell your boss, youre happy to take a week, and that will leave you with 20days - how long do you get for the Holiday break? We get 4 weeks (5days paid per week like normal as if we were working). But Im sure someone on here will know you complete rights. Maybe ring the Labour Dept?

Not atm. Maybe sometime early/mid next year after I sell my Honda Inspire to Fund my conversion, I will be removing the 1.8L. Are you wanting one as replacement or spare? I could keep in touch with you if you like if you need just as a spare?

Get prices for welding first as Should be someone on here with a sump to sell...just keep bumping. If welding isnt too expensive, then might aswell. My top half of my sump, the bit that broke off, I may get it fixed, depending on what it'll cost. If too much, I'll just scrap it.

Why not just ask if he'd allow a truck to pick it up? Heaps of transporting companies around that do the Whole of NZ. Minimum I think is a coupe hundy & maximum probably just over a grand to deliver a car (depends if it can be driven or not).

Not much in the way of "mods". Just the exhaust tip & steering wheel atm. And paintjob which is turning to crap. Will get back to you anways if I can decide on a dat that will suit. Otherwise if sold before, all good

Phew! here I am buying engine parts for an M40 lol man I would of been so peeved if it was M10. But all good! All sussed! But is M10 PFL? Just curious now..

M10? So someones been leading me astray? Whats an M40 then? Damnit! Someone told me my engine was an M40! But its M10? Whos the culprit! Ummm anyways, just need a towbar for trips to the dump (trailer wont be too heavy, just garden & lawn crap), so I dont have to rely on my brother, cos his Mrs uses his wagon with towbar & when i decide to tidy up my yard hes out fishing & using his other wagon...so if I have a towbar, no more relying on people EDIT: and I've seen a few 318s around with towbars? EDIT (again): isnt M10 a Prefacelift?

Both above: Yes I know. Thats what my plan was. To buy it all in one go & just do a complete swap - when I said "front cut" I didnt mean it literally. No way would I ever be silly enough to literally cut the front off and weld another front on...OK so it was a pretty stupid idea Me starting a thread about welding my back doors up (thats my decision, I am thinking if I want to do it in the future, whether or not anyone agrees with it) but no way would I EVER cut the front off

The bottom half was $25 (not sure if you charged me post?) from Forrest (he did have the top half but it was damaged so he preferred to sell me the bottom bit only). I bought the top half from SilverFox which was $60, if I remember rightly. Then the seals (top & bottom) were $37 all up from BMWarehouse. I was a lucky one, was looking at $150+ for both parts from a Wrecker. The 320i etc are easier to find, I think? But dont fit...was a told a 316i Sump fits though. How big is the crack & is it the bottom or top half? You may be able to get it welded if not too big - but price will depend whether easier to buy a new one or fix it. When I smashed mine, the bottom bit was destroyed and the top bit just had a bit broken off, which sucked so much cos it was such a small piece but still needed replacing.

Not easy to find & not cheap. Wish you luck! What did you do? Smash it? I smashed mine a while ago, not good.
