Looks much different on your 17s & close up. So yes, sorry my bad yours is far lower..looks much more staunh. But if I put standard springs in mine, it would raise at least 2 1/2 - 3" from what it is now. How low is your sump, if your car sits that low? I would of assumed about 50mm by the tuck you got? Since mine is 105mm without tuck - could however be my broken engine shock as stated in a previous post. EDIT: are 318, 320 & 325 etc all different heights from factory? Is it possible the 318 is higher than the rest due to being lighter? Cos mine was extremely high when I got it...may have been why when I lowered it that I reckon it dropped "heaps" and others reckon its F all. Wish I got a photo of it at original height.

WHAT lighting? Havent put any a/m lights in yet...sorry shot down mate. Paint is 2 tone red/silver, if thats rice then nearly all showcars are. Wheel are chrome, chrome doesnt make you look fast. Engine is worked, turbo etc. Polished, chrome, no painting, all smoothed/deloomed. Thats a bay a lot of people wish their cars could have. But yeap, my car, your opinion...WHO does care? Not chromed mate. Polished...theres a difference! Chrome & Paintjobs dont make you look like wanna be fast car. Flames & stupid vinyls like F&F movies, make your look like a wanna be fast car. RICE

Ok Ashkan...but whats rice on it? Just saying its rice, but not being able to point out the rice/y parts is pretty sad. I dont mind if you hate it. Heaps of people probably do. But not everyone can please everyone...right?!

Im interested too know that also. But when I cut my rears, the only way they fell out or could, is if I jacked it up & pulled at the spring. I cut a good 3/4 coils off it...pretty much half of it left.

Chrome dipping or just painting alone & LEDs etc arent rice...IMO. Cause they are for "looks". I dont see how people would think having these would make their car fast or look fast? If they do, they need a good kick in the ass. But the exhaust tip leds are gay though...wtf do people do that for....dont look good at all. But Undercar & Interior neons/lights can look cool if done "properly" - eg only seeing the glow NOT the light itself. I wouldnt mind putting some on my Probe, but would only be used at night time while the car is OFF the road (would draw too much bad attention). But would never put any lights on my BMW...

I dont have the cuts in it now...lesson learnt dont worry! I regret it... I smashed my sump with the lowered springs AFTER I passed my Pinky WOF. I started a thread about it ages ago. And I know, low doesnt mean great handling, but being lower than it was when I got it, it does feel WAY better when cornering. I dont want it sitting on the ground though...I do want to be able to go up n down driveways

Its not rice, cos its classed as a performance car in its catergory (eg Honda) - but not all people would agree. I also notice it doesnt have a massive fartcan...thumbs up for that one

Heres my opinion on rice...remember its MY opinions RICE:- -Massive wing on a FWD car (lips are OK). -Massive fartcan that is overly noisy - if quiet or is proven to provide HP then its OK. -Bonnet scoops/vents on non-turbo engines (unless its to get more cold air to the air intake its ok). -Shopping List, decals of parts that dont exist on that car. -Performance Badges on non-performance model cars. -FAKE C/F eg the vinyl/decal crap. -C/F bonnets, wings, body panels - on standard non-performance vehicles that dont go on the tracks or drag strips. -Massive upgraded brakes on non-performance car. -Gauges that do not work cos you dont need them. And of course there is the stupid s--t like the photos posted on here but thats not rice (homemade cardboard or plastic, bodykits etc), thats stupidity at its greatest. But other stuff people class as rice, isnt neccessarily cos they are more "for looks" than to make them look "fast"... eg- bodykits, lights, wheels, etc... its about personal taste. I am putting a bodykit on my Probe, only because I like it, dont care if anyone else does - but I will be doing engine mods too so that cant be rice. Remember...this is MY opinion...

My sump is low. Thats why I got pinkyed cos the cop made me go to VTNZ (they were doing a taxi strike, so cop took it to his advantage) and when they went to drive it over the block the sump was touching so the jacked it up & found my cut springs lol. Put these new springs in, went to Hamilton WOF Centre and it passed, but the sump was JUST over 100mm before I took it in. I smashed my sump (you saw the mess I made lol) so I try very hard to avoid gas stations with massive raised tank pump things and other crap like that. Not a good experience lol

You beat me lol Yes I know with the sump, my 100mm block only just fits under it...I think it may be because of my engine mount shock? Its a bit broken haha going to buy one asap once $ allows. Would that affect it, which I suppose it would. As for suspension, I wouldnt want to upgrade it until I know I am finished with the engine, as with the extra weight, I wouldnt wanna be having the front end on the ground cos I done the suspension first & the front now weighs more etc etc...unless that is NOT factor? And yes Im a n00b & I admit it...only learn one way edit, spelling

Yeah I understand I need to upgrade suspension when I do Performance stuff, but would prefer to do the engine before forking out that much out for suspension.

I dont "hate" Hondas, just not a fan of them. Kind of regret buyin my Inspire though. Been a big problem since (not the car, the transporter...not going to go into detail). But once I get it, Im gonna be selling it. Only thing I hate with Hondas is the knobs who rice them out & the Vtec sound...Oh I hate that so much I'd rather a meaty V8 sound over that noise any day. CamB- I dont see any Rice on that?

Im sure they would? i know that, the P/F/L tail lights & head lights & bumpers are different & WONT fit a F/L. But Im still a BMW n00b so there may be a few other bits that wont that I dont know of.

Damn it. Today went so fast! Went for a trip to Tauranga with my brother to pick up a part for his boat, got home, changed my wheels for photos as per my other thread and its already ticking over near 630. Crap...didnt even get a chance to look at my parcel tray. Oh well, maybe during the week. But Cheers though guys, much appreciated - saved me possibly breaking s--t.

By chance its a Harley? I find it funny how the Govt has banned/illegalised noisy exhausts on Imports but allows these POS bikes to hoon around with mufflers that FAR exceed the legal limit for a car. Whats the cars legal DB limit? 96 or something? Harleys = close to 115 or more? Please feel free correct me I LOVE IT!

Yeah i know. But I've grown to love this POS (not love, but close) - once you start doing sh-t you cant stop, thats how a lot of Quality cars are built today (when the Modifing Bug Bites!?) And have a few big plans for it once I sell my Inspire. Am looking at a repower & full body respray etc...pretty much make this a ground up rebuild. I will start a project thread, WHEN I start the rebuild (probably early next year). Anybody got any clue as to how much a set of Adjustables would cost?

Heres what mine looks like with NO passengers. 17s on driverside & 14s on passengerside. I need to take it for a drive to settle it all again as I just jacked it up to put the 17s on - done this just 10mins ago (I dont use the 17s cos the tyres are bald) so after a small drive, it will all drop probably another half inch on all corners. Cant drive atm cos my headlights have been removed to do the "smoked" mod. The 17's About half inch from arch About 1 & half inch from arch The 14's About half inch from arch About 1 & half inch from arch So the bigger rim doesnt make much difference in height. QUESTION:- I think I may get shorter shocks? Would that make it sit any lower? Or what could I do rather than replacing the springs, to make it lower...if any other way? The Sump is 105mm approx off the ground, it just cleared the measuring block when I went for my Pinky WOF, so I understand I will need to cert the height, most probably, if I go Lower. That doesnt worry me, will probably need to cert a few other things I am thinking of doing With at least 2 people in the back, the 14s are tucked, but not sure about the 17s cos I dont use them as stated above... Any comments or opinions or answers to my Questions are welcome. But please, nothing stupid. (STARTED THIS THREAD COS I DIDNT WANNA THREAD JACK "CHRIS00"s THREAD)

My E30 sits very close to that with no one in it. I think it may be about a CM or 2 higher in the rear. Car is in garage atm with a flatty so cant really take a photo of it until the tyre is repaired (its got a gangsta lean going on) Is that photo of your E30 before you rebuilt it? EDIT: take the front lip off & make the rims black and thats almost identical to mine...only mine is not as shiny lol EDIT: started my own thread with photos of mine. saves me jacking this thread.

Guess it shows all brands are different then? Cos when I bought mine (2nd hand) the guy reckons it was a 30mm drop but when I put them in, all captive (sweet) but the rear 14s are almost tucked (no passengers) and 1" below the guards (with passengers) and the front always the same....almost tucked. When I get my 17s on, it be good Will try get some photos soon with the 14s.

Hahah that would SUCK! Taking a dump, and suddenly you see yourself & everyone outside sees You. Oh man, would hate to be in that situation I assume thats what you mean And the smokers roof, that one would only work if you smoked inside?!
