Sorry, bringing back from the dead. Im bored and been looking thru VERY OLD threads haha! Just my 2Cents. I smashed my sump at a servo on the round things they refill the tanks with (ages ago now - thats what my first thread on here was!). My sump was exactly 105mm as it passed a WOF to get my off a Pinky. So, that means the servo wasnt breaking any laws? As you say 150mm is maximum height for objects on the road etc? Wasnt on the road but was definitely alot of vehicles that drive over it daily. Just I happened to slam into it square on with my sump - not a nice aftermath. But all good now, no long term damage - just my bank balance!

I didnt mean it that way, but ok whatever. Was meaning take everything from firewall to the front etc. Thats what I was told by Mosen!!! To do a good conversion, easier buying a front cut or a complete written-off car...I dunno ffs.

Its $210 each? And are they made to clip straight on or do we have to make our own clips? Have you got a photo of the lip that shows how they clip on? Not sure if I'd have $210 by that date, as I need $ to buy other things that are more important but if I manage to sell some crap before that date & save the $ I'd definitely buy one. How much would freight cost though? That would also be a big deal for me.

Im keen on one. How many you bringing over? And what you reckon it will cost to freight to Hamilton? What are they made of? ABS, Plastic, Rubber...?? Oh, and if you dont have enough of this type, would any of your others (if you have any) fit the '88 E30?

Looks like a stretched coupe. Will save that photo & go talk to some welders & my mate - see what they can do, get prices then ponder it for a few months. As I said in Post1, I may just forget about it by the time I have the money... Just wanted opinions on the legal side of things

Thats a Honda! Im simply looking at welding the rear doors. Not a full on rescultpering the entire exterior body shape.

Everyones open to their opinions. But yeah, my main question was if it would need a Cert or anything like that, cos it wont be un-strenghtening the car...

Hmmm. Is there anyone on here thats good at PS? If so, can do it for me? I wont be just removing the handles, he doors will be joined up the rear quarters. So would look longer than a coupe but have smaller doors. I could bet a few non-BMW owners wouldnt have a clue it was a 4dr.

You gotta admit though, it would look different. If I get it done really nicely and the body is all smooth like a coupe, park it up next a real coupe the only diff would be the shorter front doors? Which would be "different". Oh and the backseat & trim - yay .

I'd like to just simply remove rear door handles (inside & outside), remove the electric locking cos it wont open, weld up the rear doors (so no gaps whatsoever), and modify the interior trim so it looks like a plain trim (not a door). So yeah, simply making the rear doors worthless so its a 2dr. In otherwords, unreversable. Will have it all done properly so all welding is hidden. I might as well just ring the LTSA or whoever and ask what they think. If doesnt need to be done by certd welder I may be able to sus a mate out to do it (the welding that is).

My Probe is a coupe & I owned a Pulsar hatch before the E30. So yeah, I know how much of pain it is having passengers. But even with 4drs, the E30 still aint all that big - still got f'all leg room in the back.

I meant different as in, not been done before, or successfully done...dunno if any out there or not. Ya know, do something no one has done yet. Just for the hell of it.
