And you convinced me to buy two...

How about we compromise and just call us 'morons with taste'...

    I can go with that

Today I order two rear tyres for the x5. And it has decided to split a cv boot up front.

Checked it all over on the hoist and then gave it a vacuum, enjoyed the new gear knob, the old one was a bit poo from someone's engagement ring

  2. Get a Ctek or similar, will on demand charge and not destroy the battery

Removed all the heinous wood trims from the x5 to get them painted piano black. Will have to do the shifter surround also as that's silver. I don't know why it had the wood in there and the silver sport pack stuff all mixed up.

    Black is good.

  3. Have myself a standard 16:9 nav unit now, but upon pulling the "chinavin" Chinese pile of junk out of the dash I have found my car was originally fitted with the basic system and has different plugs,

    Now the question,

Can I simply cut the original plug off mine and wire in the new unit? I am aware nav won't work but I want the OBC functions

  4. The IS250 has some issues but the IS350 is a great car.

The Mondeo is a nicer car to be in than most of the Japanese stuff by far and would be my second recommendation

As Driftit said, most of the reliable stuff has been neglected. So you find a lot of the 1st gen mazda 3s and 6s like to drink some oil, love a good cam chain rattle too.

Forgot the Accord, solid option, great car.

  5. Replaced a door handle because I own an e53. And fixed the loose window reg clip while i was in there, because I own an e53

Also got a e39 525 that runs and drives okay for $150. The owner said it didn't run but it ran pretty nice after I put some petrol in. And towed it home because I own an e53

I saw an article a while back about fixing the rattle by adjusting the front facing turbos actuator rod by giving it a few turns to tighten and for the turbo facing back add a washer or two at the end of the actuator arm to tighten it all without taking the turbos out?

Only a very short term fix and will make a much bigger mess when time to fix it correctly
