Yeah the J gate is a bit saddening. Also that J-gate set up on them IMO is a non event nothing like the steppy in the 39, nothing like it, it does nothing really no manual mode at all.
That maroon one is a 92 Kiwi, 4.0L, I just don't think that shape will grow into money, not that it matters really.
I'm not too worried as I'm not keeping it for too long. I really do like the 3.6 motor for some reason though, which may well be what I will buy.
-
Have found a nice one up in Hamilton in dark blue without the retarded metric wheels. No rust and a good interior, no known mechanical issues. Might buy it when the cheque from the BMW clears
-
Hope all goes well dude. 24V ftw
-
Sorry would only buy a 3.5 I've had two 525i's now.I'm selling my E34 525i if you're keen, trade me listing here $2500 and its yours
That's what I'm after. Do you know the car personally? I'll send them an email =DTheres and XJ40 in Palmy dirty that is quite tidy, haven't attached TM lisitng not hard to find about the only 1 for sale, the maroon one for $3800.
The square and twin headlights are interchangeable, just no-one does it, just an option at new which headlight package you wanted, Rodney rover spares should have a few wrecks for headlight change outs.
They also snap manifold studs as well, so be carefull if that gasket needs changing and the ABS faults are just about throw away the car problems, that's what kills them, if the rust already hasn't.
Still plenty of lucas electronics in them as well, good luck you are a keen man.

That's a great deal! I wish I could spare the money for something like thatthink it was 6
cheapest factory manual e36 328 i've seen
I didn't like the interior at all to start with but it has grown on me
Forgot to add the best bits about the car. No traction control, no cruise control, no head unit and no obc
-
I'll PM youhave a black short wheelbase 750i with tobacco leather interior . sits low ,
had a alot of money spent on suspension and gasgets etc . owned by same family since new ,
grand father brought it new , then father then the son
$3500
Have thought about them, but I'd rather a Jag. I have a few mates with them and they have never really impressed me much. What about a Toyota Soarer? A V8 one of course. they are grunty comfortable and cheap these days.
Do great skids though

I can't afford a decent tech 2.5.....Wouldn't own a "normal" e30.E30.
-
I'd do that, excpet mine has been re-upholstered and sold. Sick of it falling apart.
-
I thought I was a nonce on my old 650......M5 sounded rather tasty!
-
I don't think I'll get another e36 unless I go spend some real coin on a very speccy 2.8 coupe. I can deal with rust, I am a morris owner and a panel beater =PThose XJ jags are rust buckets, I've had one of those, rust around the rear screen like earlier models.
Saying that if that stacks up and the price is right go for it, not as big of a following like BMW and Merc in this country though. The X300 is the model of that range but out of your budget. No doubt you will kepp us informed, an e36 with bigger engine might be the go, or even an E38.
I want big and comfy. Without buying a lexus. Plus if all goes to plan I will be selling it at the end of the year anyway.
Might have a quick browse at the e38's
-
How much did you pay for that? I'm loving the red interior
-
I'd have a 535i if it had full leather for the price. But, I want something big.Nice E34?
And I've had two e34's already.

I'm now on the hunt for a new car, as usual I can't make up my mind.
I have started to go off the mx5 idea for the time being as I only want to spend 3-3.5k at the moment.
I've got a few beasties in mind,
e32 7 series
XJ40 Jag, have a massive soft spot for them
What else is worth looking at in that category? Don't want a fairlane ltd, too ugly and beige, same with a statesman.
-
So, if I sold my Bmw and Morris collection......Hmmmm. Cold shower time
-
I've driven the 5sgt, 5egt and quattro coupe, but not a Quattro turbo sadly. The 5cyl noise is to die for. A mate had an 85 5e in silver and we made a straight through with just a cooper muffler for it. Sounded amazing! I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a decent one, couldn't care less if it was a 5e or a 5s either. Although the 5e are nicer.Ditto!! The best sounding by far! Still miss the car I had -even though non turbo

This is quite interesting!

As below =PNot sure what you mean?
Yes, wear sunnies if that is the case and watch for the third orange to fade, then away you go. Our driver does this each time, if you freeze frame some of his videos you see the butterflies on top of the blower opening just before the light =D It helps that he has a low stall converter too.Orange Orange Orange Green.
Go on the third orange if you're a noob, and you should get some pretty good reaction times.

80-100kg weight loss will usually give you 1/10th of a second, perfecting your launch and shifting is more likely to give you a result. Try being smooth off the line at first.
What type of light set up are you using?
Most of all have fun

Seems to be like the twit I sold the E12 to. He had a F/L E12 with a "3.0 CSI' motor with a "hot cam".
I had a peek, it was a dirty old manky rusty E12 [Mine was perfect in the body once I had finished] with a Carbied M30. Fail....
-
Yeah, I saw some of old mate Hoffs collection back when he had his yellow 246 dino. I almost fell over! You are right I guess it's how you read it Hoffman Ford is one of the only privately owned Ford dealers in NZ, but not owned by a Hoffman anymore, but yes the Hoffman family are well sorted.
-
X2.
They are a drivers car, people who drive cars based purely on what people think miss out on some bloody good cars
My question is how is an old automatic 320i any more manly?
Well, I agree completely. The E36 has a great chassis but doesn't have anywhere near the grin factor of an mx-5.I am ghetto.
Cars are for driving, when im blasting along on a back road and smiling ear to ear I could care less what the car looks like.
For the record I do like the look of it, as do most women, quality women.
MX-5 it is then, I shall aquire one when the oppoturnity arises

Almost zero I would say,
I am suprised that there is even one in New Zealand. I love these cars and definetly up there in the Top 3 Fords I would own. So much 80's coolness about it, god I love the tacky red steering wheel.
Weren't they selling a RS500 Ford not long ago? That thing was mint too, does Hoffman Ford own/owned these cars in a private collection that they have?
Neither of them are owned by Mr Hoffman as far as I have been told. Neil owns them from what he told me...and Trevor tells me too. Old mate Hoffman does however have quite an epic car collection, I went to school with his daughter [makes me nearly famous!]Very wealthy the Hoff family, yes they have a few cars including the Texaco RS500 Sierra with ridiculous low milage, 1 of the only privately owned Ford dealers in NZ.
He does have a neat GT.350 or two....

You are right, I'm looking for an na6 version. Not nb or nc. Not modified either$hundy says the car he's looking at doesn't look like that.
I would, but, I couldn't have a car that is that good looking and full of rotang puss. Fill it with a V8.get a batty! WAY cooler bigger version of the mx5
Not wanting a 1.8 really just an early 1.6 and I will have to check for the crankshaft problem....Tbh, they're fairly expensive for what they are. The cheapest 1.8 on t'me is 6k. There are manlier cars out there for <3k, and probably more value for money too...but not many cars this side of a lotus Elise offers this much rwd fun/$ IMHO.
NB I have only passengered in an Elise, so I'm not even sure my statement is valid
/current mx5 owner
Paint restorer.

I can vouch for this. It's great when selling an e36, which we all know like to throw their paint away at any oppoturnity.
Looked brilliant afterwards. Also used it to keep my last bike as immaculate as ever. Awesome stuff
