Got one in the garage. But, the baby sucked the paint off it.
-
That's a great pic! I don't think I'll be modifying this baby. They were great little cars in their day
My mum and I had one of those many years ago. A mate of mine Michael Ryan and Jimmy Richards (yes JR) we did our apprenticships at the same time, back when JR first started racing Escorts, they put a midget Ford V8 60 into one. I also had a 69 Ute running a 1300cc, cam, extractors and side draught. I wish I still owned that. Went on our honeymoon in it.
Iaquired it from the chap I am working for in Carterton with all the delicious cars in one of my other threads I started. He has given it to me as a token of thanks for all the work I have done over the last year or so.Cool photo Glenn, not himatangi is it? - long shot, time warp that RX2, morry ute and a Mk2 van,
Doogle that Morry looks nana spec, how did you aquire that?
Yup, Viva, one owner since new. Absolutely immaculate. You should see his one owner MK3 cortina and MK2 escort Ghia. Here's a test for Friday morning what is the brown car sitting next to that morry in post 1.
I say a HA viva?
Nothing on his Hudon/terraplanes or His mercury, buicks, Caddilac, Chryslers, plymoths.....I could go on =D
It's a VivaHillman Avenger ...square headlight, headlight surround, aerial in the right place, the mirror & the colour
I was hoping it would be a 4/90, but, no....

They are quite an amusing little toy. Should be fun taking it around the countryside...My mates mum used to have one. We could get it on two wheels in the paddock.
Funny little cars.

Something similar to that was done on Kiwibiker, buy a poster of a race bike and you go in the draw to buy the race bike for $1. As far as I am aware that was totally legit.Sell lollipops for $10 each.. you get a free ticket to go into the free M3 BMW draw. You would have to send the lollipops & ticket to the buyers to keep it legal though... check it out further ... I'm no lawyer

I have a feeling I'm going to like this project

Boss had one as a work ute. Crap interior, poor build quality. Shocking brakes and the rotors decided to give up almost instantly. My brothers E36 stopped better.
The boss' current AU 1 XR8 sedan rides, handles and stops better [butt ugly though].
Awesome motor, it's just a shame about the poorly built car. I want to love them, but, I can't
-
Ah yes I forgot that....One of the many advantages E30's have over E36's, is, no saggy headliners.
-
Could have been a special order head liner from factory or a replacement due to something odd, fire or sagging head lining? There are many explanations really that are a wee bit less extreme than a re-shell. Would be interesting to know thoughYea I did the dig as well. Right motor, right interior, right noises from carjam... Re shell? It has to be.

I shall post up what it is like when I go have a look.Wow never seen a bronzit in NZ before, in the flesh or on trademe! Priced a bit on the high side, it is surely flawless for that money
I would rock that! The good thing about the one I posted is it is rather local to me, which helps. This would be so much more fun.

I'm buying this if the Hyundai sells! Genuine 126km.

Have asked the owner if I can come view.
Anybody know of some finance I can get with the Nana car as security?
And what to look for when I view [not much experience with e30's]

The mazda, ford and hilux are all great utes. Have done quite a few km's in an 07 Ranger double cab 2x4. Was a very nice vehicle to drive. Went good for what it was too.
-
A mate of mine had an e34 with the m50b20 in it. Was all shiney and black with options galore. A beatiful car and I would happily own it for daily driving, just no good passing people up hills or carrying 5 people to a party....quite a lack or torque.I agree, it seemed to be the case with my E36.
Imagine a M50B20......
That is very impressive! I would assume for that kind of driving the 530i would be similar? That isn't too much more than the hyundai uses. If I travel to palmerston north I use around 8L/100km overall. That's flat 100km/h driving and 60kms of hills.I reguarly get 9.2l/100km on my daily 100km commute from paraparaumu/wellington/paraparaumu. This includes a bit of traffic. Have had it as low as 7.5l/100km on flat, traffic free motorway driving.
Treat it nicely, and the 540 is an economical car for a V8.
-
In my experience the m50b25 never really liked hills....or pulling in auto form. I borrowed an e36 from my brother and put around 10 thousand km on it. Great car, just lacked in torque for those spirited moments.
-
That is quite reasonable then. I must be too used to the country and economy of all my bikes....that is central city AK style,,where at 5 oclock it can take 9 cycles to get through a set of traffic lights and you go down the end of the street to the motorway and find that it is barely moving
-
Ouch! I don't think my e34's got near that much, mind you both were 525i's.when i got the car it was a central city dweller, the obc said 17 l 100 k
I think I would even go for another 525i at this rate.
-
You could try hock it off at gpforums?
theres more people there that might want just a cheap car.
Thanks mate, will do that
I'm working a deal on a Morriehaha U GOT A MORRIE???
edit: hmmm might ask my sis if she wants a hyundai... she dont like the 89 e30 320i ive been pressuring her to buy !! GRRR!!!
It's a beast.....with 46hp
Cheers mate.
-
That really isn't too bad for a decent size car! That's around the same as my boss' XR8, which is ugly and slow.
-
I see, that all makes sense. What kind of open road economy are you getting from the 535i?gearing and more modern design. The M 30 is OLD.The e34 was also relatively low geared to get the last bit of accelleration outa the old girl.My 535 is sits at about 2250 at 100 ks,whereas the 635 a mate had was about 1800 rpm
-
That is exceptional. I want!

Milkshake, boys and yard spring to my mind.and there is that factor: omg hes driving a hyundai...
