  1. Yea i dont really care about the handling too much but what im trying to do is actually trying to improve the ride quality. I will go to SAS or STOCKS and see if they could sort me out with some suitable inserts.
  2. The car is quite low and is nearly on the bumpstops that have already been shortend a little bit. I dont want to go buy some shorter inserts that will cost $$$ as i was just seeing if i could get away with cutting down some of the orignal one but what you guys have said so far is that i cant shorten the shock body???
  3. I just pulled the shocks out of the front struts of my 318 e30 as i was planning to machine down the threaded collar about 50mm to gain some more travel. But i found out that the shock runs right down to the bottom of the strut and therefor contains no packers at the bottom. So the shock is way longer than i expected and this dosnt allow me to shorten my struts at all. My main question here is: Am i able to cut the bottom of the shock say 50mm or so? This is the only way i see shortening these struts could work as i know people have shorten them before. any help will be much appreciated. Cheers.
  4. Im selling my pre face lift '87 E30 320i which is not used any more and has been sitting in my carport unused for about 6 months. original cond 5 speed manual has done 224,000kms but still runs reasonably well silver/bluey coupe with a few minor rust bubbles in some places and the odd small dent. standard 14" alloys with pretty bad tyres from memory interior is ok for age but typically the drivers seat is in a bit of a state. also the dash has a few cracks. no wof or rego for a few months as it has been sitting unused like i said. would suit as a project. can be viewed in wellington. $2000
  5. New 18" Avanti flare chrome mags with New 215/35/18 Nangkang tyres Trade Me listing fitted on my E30 with like a 5mm spacer on the front, would look good on a low as E30
  6. man i would be pissed if i curbed one of those

i am also interested as what those wheels are they are very similar to Avanti Kroniks which i have...
  9. Don't be silly, the momo 350mm wheels are tits, and the fact you've got manual steering is all good - not to mention it prevents retarded pussy's from taking your car for a spin. my arms also would get a massive workout but i might just try and keep my car as original as possible and that means keeping the original wheel + they have grown on me

yea cheers Surge im highly considering color coding the bumpers, mirrors etc but for now driver seat repair (typical ) is at the top of the list.
  11. considering upgrading from my bus wheel but a smaller wheel will probably be too hard to work with given that i dont have power steering

i would much rather have a 323 or 325 but i wanted good fuel economy, and the 4cyls handle really well due to the fact there isnt a big lump of metal up front which makes them much nicer to drive.i accually prefer driving my 318 compared to the 320, the better diff ratio and more revvy engine makes up for the tiny loss in power and makes it just as fast in a straight line as well as round corners.

my 320 is just my old daily hack which ive had for over 18 months (now driven by my borther) i never bothered doing anything to it cause it aint in that great cond and kept looking around for a nice 318 which i could add wheels to etc, which i have am now doing.

yea depending on how low i go on the front ill probably just get the rear springs copressed a tiny bit.And as deftones said it isnt shadowlined, its just hard to tell on a white car i guess, and given that i did take the photos using my digi camcorder which dosent focus properly and provides very poor quality.

whats the camber like out back with the jamex's and super lows??? ive had a look at carls car and its sitting at a good height and not too much camber issues i have connections that can get me a band new full set of super low Dobsons (i think) for 250ish first off i will only drop the front down to match the rear which sits alot higher than the front as is. i can also get the standys compressed real cheap too, so i was lookin at geting another set for the front just to try out, and ill be happy with just that for the time being. a good alarm is needed first tho, so i dont come out and find my car sitting on blocks or not there at all

yea im having my doughts as to lowering the back too far or even at all cause i cant afford to replace the rear tyres every 6 months or less i might end up just lowering the front to match the lower back

the 40 profile tyres give the 17's a smaller diameter than the standy wheels. so it actually apears to be raised as the wheel dosent fill the guards as much. you can see this clearly in the 3rd pic
