  1. Very interesting regarding the the whole speed camera thing. Last xmas eve, i received my first speed camera fine (108kph) for the ten years ive been hooning around. I have the german made euro plates and the thing that surprises me is that I have a zero which is supposed to have a line through it here but the euro font doesnt. The guy in the speed camera van must have first tried to search for my car with a "O" then tried a "zero" when it didnt come up with my car. Took photos with the original plates on the car and was gonna fight it but thats as far as i got.. it was only $30 at the end of the day. Also, people need to paint in the gaps/slashes that some of the characters (like on the zero) have so they arent so obvious. its a dead give away and can be seen from miles away.
  2. MP Autoparts in Upper Hutt skimmed mine down to 6.5kg from memory. The guy didn't want to take any more off even though its standard practice by all the yanks to take them down to 6kg safely. I could try and find the receipt if you want a rough idea of a price.
  3. Too right it's dry... I see people paying 9k for 318s and 320s :banghead:
  4. bump, surely somebody must want a super tidy 330i in black at a great price??? or am I missing something?
  5. $8800 ono make an offer this must sell
  6. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=652391608 2000 BMW 330i Sedan in black, click link for more details.
  7. The E30's have a poor steering ratio. Im doing an e36 rack swap as we speak and just dummy fitted it into the car last night. Pretty simple really with the hardest part being bending the p/s lines a bit to suit the E36 rack.
  8. Just registering my interest in two sets of plates when you do this next.
  9. Very nice! A shadowline will go down well.
  10. How much for the handbrake lever assembly and the lower dash cover under the steering column?
  11. Whats the quality/fitment like? Can you post a pic of one fitted?
  12. I bought a front one from Jeff Gray here in Wellington for $60odd + gst a few weeks ago..
  13. I saw that on the day it was listed on their website but haven't got around to getting up there. Will go grab some bits tomorrow in my lunch break.
  14. On E36's they are 92C but E30's are 80C. The genuine one i pulled out was 80C. If it is the temp sensor, then the gauge sensor would be faulty too as that seems to read well
  15. Mine are both 80degree ones. Can you actually get hotter thermostats?
  16. Nope but I tested it before I put it in and it seemed ok. Might not be a good fit so will be putting the genuine one back in and inspecting the housing while im at it.
  17. I replaced my thermostat the other weekend and it now seems to run even colder and takes longer to warm up Can the thermostat housings cause problems like this when they get old/corrode?
  18. Whats the quality like on the badges? Id be keen on the front one
  19. My PFL 325i E30 is a hell of a lot worse and usually does around 18l/100kms. Doesn't quite get up to half way on the temp gauge so im going to chuck in a new thermostat but i keep putting it off.
  20. So i guess these don't jam speed cameras but what about the lasers in the cop cars. They must be a lot better and harder to jam than hand hold lasers.
  21. Yes i realise this and will go off pics I have seen on the web to make mine as close to original as possible. I've read that some people just suffer from poor running only some of the time when the reference tab breaks off as the sensor can still sense where the tab must have been or because of the hole there. Its easy to see exactly where it should go and im willing to try it. If it works, I'll pull the flywheel back off and get it lightened, machined and balanced while im at it.
  22. Thanks, I'll make up and weld on a new one and see how we go.
  23. Looks like the timing reference tab has broken off my flywheel and smashed the crank sensor to bits in the process. I havnt pulled the box out yet, just that front lower bellhousing plate and it looks like the tab has been disintegrated as i cant see it sitting there. Theres just a whole lot of shredded crap from the tab and sensor. I painstakingly rotated the motor only to find a small hole where I assume the tab is supposed to be?? Im in the market for a new flywheel but also wanting to consider the option of getting a new tab welded onto my flywheel. How do i go about doing this? Is the tab magnetic?
  24. I'm in need of one of the bellhousing mounted crank sensors found on pre facelift 325i e30's. Also after a flywheel from the same car (must have the timing reference pin/tab around the outside).
  25. All non m3 racks are pretty much the same with the 3.2 ratio. If you can do without power steer, mods to the rack (incl. cutting extra teeth), rack spacers and machined down tie rods (as seen in bottom pic of link above) will give you plenty of lock without messing with the knuckles/geometry.
