  1. Things are getting closer and closer, exhaust is almost finished, hopefully by the end of next week it will all be fully welded and ready to go, then the mock up has finished and i will be able remove the engine for its final clean down and preperation. getting a little excited.

Mean while have started work on the rebuild of my wheels, have ordered all new bolts for them (need to convert them to take m7 hardware) and then can measure up and have all new step lips made for them.

Wheels came back from the painters yesterday afternoon, came out better than i had hoped.

  2. I have done this, if you dont want to run a plug n play dynavin unit, you will have to get a wiring extension to extend all the wiring from the amp in the boot to the unit in the dash, and then you will have to run a longer aerial cable aswell if you want the radio to work, can be an expensive process. may be easier to run one of the bluetooth adapter kits you can buy

  3. Has been a little slow progress lately as have been working out the fiddly parts of the build plus finding the time at the moment.

Have finally finished building & installing the new manifolds (still need a slight bit of modifying)

Bolted everything together gearbox, driveshaft, all suspension components to measure up all clearances and build the exhaust with out interference. So happy that the time spent measuring and checking heights that everything lined up perfectly and i dont have to go back and re-do things.

Fitted new SRS concept offset solid control arm bushes for more clearance. Very nice product.

Had another nice headache of the build turn up in the last few days, a nice DINAN lightweight dual mass flywheel. I decided to stick with the dual mass as i wasnt 100% sure on a solid flywheel and and a few people mentioned best to stick with the dual mass setup, it is also running a Sach's M5 performance clutch kit so will hold nicely but give a nice drive as well. I just need to reset the self adjusting pressure plate.

And i have finally began the process of refinishing my wheels, have been stripped and sanded and cleaned and are currently at the painters. Have ordered new bolts from america and working on correct specifications/sizes of the lips to order.

  4. I made the mistake of buying one of those cheap boss kits off trade me

My old mtech1 slots on and off nicely, but try to put the boss kit on and you've gotta force it! And I have to have a small spacer on the steering shaft or it won't move where as the mtech1 doesn't need a spacer

Am I being a retard or has anyone else come across this problem?

  5. Alot of people change for the ease of suspension upgrade instead of having to weld, and the option of bolt on either e46 330i or e36 m3 front brake setups. But if its just for wheel options you can get a spindle adapter to bolt 5 stud hubs on

  6. There are plenty around, they can be anywhere between 800-1500 then all the accessories and wiring.

Do some research on this as the oil pump is at the front of these motors it usually requires a external oil pump and custom sump for this motor to fit in the engine bay of the e36. Probably why most people use a 1uz or LS engine
