    Recaro's

After 3x sets of fishnets which were all stuffed, I picked these up ages back out of an Evo 4 shape GSR.

One is mint, the other needs bolster repair.  I considered Evo4 SR's but they are usually grey / orange/maroon pattern which I didn't want.

In the meantime for mockup I took my Evo1 Recaro office chair apart and used that to figure out things

You can buy brackets from someone here in NZ that bolt direct to E30 rails, as those NZKW rails you will have to mount the seat belt buckles to the body as they are not certifiable being bolted to those frames.

Also still looks like you need A LOT of caster adjusted on your front suspension, definitely wont pass a cert like that. with a lot smaller Tyre those 66's would have fitted.

Looks like you are making great progress but would definitely look into SRS caster Lower control arm bushes

    5 Stud conversion

Using E36 318ti rear (complete arms, hubs, brakes) and E36 328i front hubs with E30 arms plus SRS / GreshM offset solid bushes.   I have most of these parts, but I'm sure you've all seen what hubs look like.

More on this post once I have started the actual work...

Expect to need more caster in the front. As I found when I did this swap with my car using srs brushes.

Either need to use m3 hubs or m3 control arms to correct it enough.

I first tried with m3 evo arms, e36 hubs and offset bushes and still no luck. Needed the srs bushes to get it to sit centered.

Yea to be honest I just want to have my car certified before Christmas so it looks like I'll have to deal with 4x100. I'm unsure on those SRS concept lollipops and I'm unsure how the machined hubs would go with our cert process. Definitely a compromise on brakes and wheel choice but ?‍♂️

I have used the SRS bushes and passed my cert, still need either m3 evo LCA & e36 hubs or m3 LCA & hub to center the wheels correctly

  4. Most large passenger SUV's are only rated to 2.0t because of the transmissions they use.

You want something with a traditional automatic gearbox. How long do you want the list?

    Hilux

    Fortuner

    Prado

    Colorado

    Trailblazer

    Navara

    Pathfinder (D40 shape)

    X5

    Q7

the list goes on....diesel is the best way to go for towing, gives you more pulling power, just depends on the budget you want to spend

  5. Well the time has finally come where i need to buy myself a daily driver again........dammit.

Now i know the more i spend the better im going to get but budget is limited with everything else i need to do.....i'm looking at spending 3-4k.

Have been looking around and have come across quite a few e46 318/320/325/330 ranging from 165-230km's ....now the decision is which way do i go?

people who have had experience with high km e46's, i would love to hear your experiences.

Im between a rock and a hard place as fuel consumption is a consideration as i already have a gas guzzler and will be mainly for commuting around auckland, but have heard some people say they get good economy from the larger engines

    Cheers Guys for your input
