9k. Getting pricey. .

I understand. Just meaning that if people have managed to turbo charge big block v8s then it shouldn't be an issue on a straight 6
-
Make some room in the engine bay by repositioning various items and maybe moving the battery etc if it's in there. If you low mount the turbo below return sump line you may need to go dry sump. There have been a lot of USA based turbo conversions on american muscle who actually mount the turbo at the rear near the exhaust. Requires oil pump mods etc but despite the distance of the charge pipes, they do get surprisingly good results. That is because they really can't fit anything else in the engine bay with an alloy v8 in there.

M50 block 2.8l turbo project questions
handgrenade replied to ntaylor90's topic in Forced Induction & Performance Tuning
Is this a cast iron block? If so don't worry too much about a rebore. If you decide to clean up the bore then you may need oversize pistons and rings to suit. Most aftermarket piston and ring manufactures hold stock of slightly larger pistons etc because most rebuilds do include a bore hone. -
Fuel Injectors
handgrenade replied to _ethrty-Andy_'s topic in Forced Induction & Performance Tuning
The computer will have a set map. For the air detected coming in through the air flow meter the ECU will fuel to suit. If you turbo or FI without tuning then it is likely that the factory ECUs will not understand a flow rate higher than atmo and flip directly to a safe mode. If you install larger injectors you will most likely over fuel according to the amount of increase in the injector size. The signal to the injectors will be to open x time per air intake. If your injector is larger the same signal is sent but due to the larger injector more fuel will go in. Not the best situation. -
Removing cat on E36 M3 3.0 ?
handgrenade replied to Beeker2's topic in Forced Induction & Performance Tuning
If you are running a targa car I would suggest a standalone computer and tune. And then you would be able to remove the cat and tune to suit. -
18 button OBC + indicator stalk to match
handgrenade replied to handgrenade's topic in Electrical system
Do the 10 button ones have the wiring to the left indicator stalk button to change between the modes? -
The pedals are too close together! Perhaps I'm too used to my skyline but my left foot keeps snagging on the side of the footrest. I can tell it's not just me because the carpet is almost worn through on that particular corner! I haven't pulled the carpet up yet to see if I can remove it or make it smaller .. Anyone done that before?

18 button OBC + indicator stalk to match
handgrenade replied to handgrenade's topic in Electrical system
sorry, it is for an e36. The indicator stalk has all the wiring however i dont know if the obc has the req wiring. -
I have an 18 button OBC along with the indicator stalk with the connections which allow you to access the OBC from the stalk. how much is something like this worth? I know that the 10 button ones go for 40-50$ and that the 18 button ones are more expensive, but not sure how much, especially with the special indicator stalk as well? Thanks

New Zealand New BMW E36 M3 Evo Sedans
handgrenade replied to Golfboy666GTI's topic in General Discussion
True story: 3rd owner was a woman who purchased the car for her eccentric older Italian husband. They had money. The husband decided he absolutely hated the technoviolet colour (WHYY?~?~) and put down $5,000 to repaint the car. It took 6 months and everything was repainted apart from the engine bay which would have cost another 1k to drop the engine etc. everything else was painted, all glass, lights, interior etc were removed for the respray.
