Just grab some bolts from Bunnings, she'll be right.
-
Accidental chopped spring joke? Haaaaa @OP there's various ways to do it without the actual tool - Google. Seems like your sorta thing.
-
Was gonna go up to about 220-230, could quite easily re-sell it for at least 400 to some poor soul :> If you were to save up a bit you could possibly consider a Manual trans swap at HellBM - drive in/drive out. Prices for the swaps are lower than you'd think
-
Just how many 6 speed 540i's are in the country? 2? 3? Good luck finding one (there was one on trademe the the price of an m5..) I'd advise to go with the 540i - BMW v8's are as nice as they come, a nice pure sound, and good grunt to go with it.

Have followed a couple of supercharged m52 build threads on e46fanatics.com - I'd advise against it. They're spending upwards of 10kUSD for full installation along with additional drivetrain parts to handle the power, and even then that doesn't guarantee reliability. If your 328CI isn't manual you'll also have a hard time with the slushbox with that amount of power. I'd advise against it, If you have the cash for a supercharger then you can save a little more, sell the 328ci and buy an M3.

I was going to buy that bonnet to immediately re-sell it for double the price, didn't wake up in time. My problem with it is the vents on the front slope downwards towards the engine bay - Don't really want too much water in the bay. Looking good so far, I for one can't stand the orange indicators (mine has smoked sides and clear fronts, which i need to change to smoked), as they look dated to me, but that's just my opinion. Some new shoes will be good, I'd also suggest plasti-dipping your front kidney grilles black to match your window trims etc.

It's not something to skimp out on, even in a car with a full cage. As a biker - Helmets definitely do save lives. I wouldn't recommend it be something that you cheap out on, but it isn't necessary to spend thousands. $600ish can generally get you a nice Arai, Shoei or Shark helmet with nice airflow, lightweight and very protective.

No rush to sell whatsoever, figured there's no harm in probing for interest as I'm looking at getting something more track-oriented in the near future. Most of you will know the car. NZ New, Factory Manual, 1999 323CI - Topaz blue. 161000km. Receipts for almost everything since 1999, still has original owners manual +documentation with master key etc. Serviced every 10,000km (has service logbook and receipts for these) at BM Workshop. Most recently in Grey lynn. Next service due at 168,000km. Mods list: Genuine Ac Schnitzer Type II Wheels, 18x8F, 18x9 Rear (Plastidipped white, could do with a re-dip at some stage) Adjustable Suspension (Certified), Alpina front lip M3 Side Skirts Motorsport rear bumper. CSL Duck Lip bootlid, HID Angel eyes M3 Mirrors Clear side indicators Clear brake lights ZHP shift knob. Professionally Rolled guards. Doesn't come with roof racks (sold). Comes with spare set of control arm bushings, can also come with stock bootlid + spoiler (perfect condition, also in Topaz Blue) + Stock skirts. Current VTNZ WOF + rego. Asking price $9500. Located in North Shore. If not sold then I'll continue to enjoy this amazing car, if sold, well I guess I'll be seeing you all at Hampton/Pukekohe/Taupo .

I went to high school with OP. Can confirm, isn't right in the head. Personal attacks aside this is too low to even look 1/10th decent. Coilovers will provide plenty of "low" whilst providing much better handling, they aren't going to bottom out and send both you and your very unfortunate girlfriend off a cliff. :/
-
I'm assuming you're the one who's looking at my Coupe Topaz side skirts on trademe - You're welcome to pop over (i'm in Auckland) any time to test fitment if so. I do doubt they'd fit on a compact.
-
To a forum member/ECC member? ;o Hope to continue seeing it at meets :>
-
The good ol' Pukekohe Car scene at it's finest :/ Jack the car back up, clean and restore it, and remove the ridiculous towbar and it'd be a decent looking car, as it is though it looks horrid, and incredibly unsafe.
-
Welcome and good choice in car. Nice color I'd suggest you also invest in clear top tail lights, side indicators and front indicators to give the car a more modern look. Also a pair of M3 mirrors (replicas are fine) help make the e46 look more modern. Definitely a nice start, nothing wrong with smaller engines or auto- if you're not racing around or need the power then there's no need for it.

Damn, so my "I don't speed officer, I just accelerate to the speed limit" excuse won't work.
-
Don't worry about it, just poking fun I think mine's one of the only NZ new factory manual coupes floating around.
-
'Scuse me? NZ new Factory manual thank you I'd value mine around 9-10k based on 160,000km with the mods done to it along with full service and ownership history (+ receipts) since 1999. Welcome, throw up a couple of photos of your e46 Standard mods are: Exhaust, angel eyes, Lowering springs/adjustable suspension, rims, clear tail lights, smoked/clear side indicators and smoked/clear front indicators. You'll see most modified e46's with the above. Hope to see you at the next meet
-
Pretty sure this guy asked the same question on the BMW parts nz facebook page. e46 330ci iirc For an auto with 150xxxkm ish you'll be looking at 7-8k if you're lucky and it's in good nick. Motorsport would be worth a bit more (9-10). There's a really nice motorsport one in perfect nick, with a full m3 interior swap - 120xxx km on trademe at the moment for 7.6 (8.5 reserve), and it's been there for months.
-
Next car likely won't be the same chassis so not too much point in keeping it. Either wanting an e92 M3 or a 135I
-
Welcome, nice e46. Take it to Ray @ HellBM and get a Manual conversion done. :> Hope to see you at the next meet (whenever that is).
-
Stock boot + spoiler from my e46 323CI. Won't fit the sedans. Topaz Blue color. Doesn't come with electronics or BMW badge, boot lid + spoiler only. Both boot lid and spoiler are in great condition, only 3x 1mm chips on the very back of the spoiler. (pictured) Asking $300. Pickup constellation drive/north shore. Also have stock coupe side skirts in good condition, same color - $180.
-
My wheels are plasti-dipped white, Has certainly lasted a long time but could do with a respray soon. It's as easy as ripping it all off (Just peels off with some persuasion) and re-spraying. Definitely worth doing for a durable, decent finish.
-
Thanks everyone CSL Bootlip, you're right Jonesey, my apologies. It's likely to be seen quite often in the near future, it's currently my daily until I get another road bike, not complaining though, absolutely love driving her. WIll be fairly active on these forums as I learn the ins & outs of these cars, and am certainly looking forward to any meets/dyno days etc. Unfortunately on call for work this weekend (Basically house arrest- I'm a network engineer), but will keep an eye on the meetings thread for any other events, I understand that Cars/Coffee is generally once a month? Will definitely make the next one
