  1. I'll try measure them in the next day or so and check, first glance tonight suggested they were both the same size but will confirm and can go from there, the discs themselves are probably best being scrapped so you may be able to fit larger discs if the caliper carriers are right - I'll have a good look when I can. I'm based in Invercargill so freight may be a pain - do know a courier though who's usually pretty good and heads from here to Auckland about once a fortnight.
  2. Ok turns out both are disc brake rears, if you're after one or both, let me know what components you need and I'll grab them for you.
  3. Hey sorry, I should've said both are auto, I'll amend the main posting now. Will see if either rear end is disc brake, and will check the diff ratio in the 320i when I move that one in next.
  4. Once again, not so much up for sale, having a clear out and am wondering if there's any parts off this a member may want/need (or know of someone that does) anything that's left of these two? For all parts, cost of freight only, and if you're feeing generous, the cost of a box of beer ($30) would be appreciated, or a token amount will be just as acceptable. Both are facelift E30's, the white one is an auto 318i with an M40 if anyone is interested in the engine, sump or arms - not sure if the engine even turns over but will start removing it this afternoon. Front suspension and mags are mine, only sitting in it to get it moving. Sadly this one has succumbed to cancer, so I have no qualms cutting it up - I'll be taking the rear drivers lower guard for my own E30. The rest is up for grabs, including the 1990's sex spec rear seat if that floats anyone's boat. The grey E30 is an auto 320i, the M20B20 engine is designated to go to a friend in town here. Everything else is up for grabs, this one appears to be mostly rust free so will look at selling the rest as a rolling shell if anyone wants it - probably best as a track/race/rally/drift car than a full blown restoration. If you're after the shell, I'd be open to realistic offers. As per my E3 post, these will only be here for maybe another week, so get in fast - if no one wants anything then it'll all be going to scrap. Update: Both rear disc brake conversions are taken, will update with other parts as they go.
  5. Hey, so I had a go at getting them out today, no joy - rusted solid sorry. Gave up after 2 hours fighting snapped bolts to get not even halfway. Will still send you the E9 struts once I've picked them up, the subframes are at a friends house atm. Those should come out easier I hope.
  6. No worries, if you're not in a rush I've got an E9 front and rear subframe to pick up from a friends place, if memory serves me correctly the front still has the struts attached, so can send both sets at once if that works for you?
  7. I'll pop them out tomorrow, no idea what state they are on or if they are any good to be honest. Yours for the cost of freight.

    1997 E39 535i

Having a clear out of things I haven't got time to sort (as may have to move again unfortunately). This one is a 1997 E39 535i, with a trans issue. Bought it a while back with a known trans issue, found and bought a "known good" trans (read: worse than the original) and got wof and reg on it, only to have that second trans develop issues shortly after with cavitation and signs of water throughout it, so it got parked up. Was quite comfortable to cruise in, and the V8 does have a nice note without droning. Reg is on hold, last wof passed with no issues, just a comment that the tyres were getting low or on their way out. The bad: Trans issue (a 5HP24 to replace this one will be supplied with the car, this one was removed by a friend and has been stored undercover since removal about 2 weeks ago). Needs heater controls (I should be able to source and supply this). Missing one patch lead from the headlights. Clear coat is flaking badly from being parked up outside. Needs a damn good clean inside and out. Asking $1,400 ONO for members on here and will be listed on FB shortly for a bit more, I can help with delivery up to a reasonable distance.
  9. Not so much up for sale, having a clear out and am wondering if there's any parts off this a member may want/need (or know of someone that does) anything that's left of this old girl. For all parts, cost of freight only, and if you're feeing generous, the cost of a box of beer would be appreciated! Not a lot left unfortunately, I'll be taking the glass, roof lining, ashtray from the dashboard, and the intake manifold and carby. Dash and door cards are in pretty tidy shape considering the age, all running gear is still there. Still has the engine (pre-EFI version), trans and all the running gear if anyone needs an M30B25. Any other parts are up for grabs, I do also have a tiny few other random parts (E9 front and rear subframe, can supply a set of seats from an E3 3.0) so ask away if you're looking for anything in particular. Grille is there with one tiny dent, these fetch big $$$ when immaculate - that would probably be the only part I would want a reasonable offer for. Tail lights and chrome surround are up for grabs, but be warned - they will come with a section of the rear guards and floor still attached (some muppet used construction adhesive to "reinstall" these, and I wouldn't want to risk damaging them so will cut the whole rear panel out). The rest though? Have at it, if you want it first in first served. Car will only be here for maybe another week before it either rusts to pieces or goes to the graveyard (AKA Sims).
  10. Na no worries, easy done. They were on an E32 when I picked it up, will have a look too as I suspect I may have a 5th on there as well for a spare. Not in any major rush but the sooner it can be arranged, the better - you've got first option, I haven't advertised anywhere else or anything so definitely yours. Just keep in contact, flick me a text or a message on here and we can sort it out closer to the time. Hope the injury wasn't too bad, and the recovery doesn't take long - I know first hand it sucks getting older and having constant injuries!
  11. Have manged to grab some photos, not perfect condition but I think they would clean up pretty easily, can't see any major damage or gutter rash. And size is actually 17" X 8" all round. Tyres are probably no good for a wof but that's just my opinion from a quick glance. Centre caps are there, though I can't say for certain they are the right ones - appear to be, but I'm pretty sure there's quite a few different versions of them. Let me know if you're interested and we can work something out easy enough. Got your text too man, appreciate it - I'll be in contact when I've got a bit more time.
  12. 17" X 7" BBS RC009 2 piece rims? Will get a pic later, part number is 1 181 887, quick Google search with the part number says they are E31 - look the same as these: https://www.wheelcollision.com/store/H59200-59200XXXX-840I-850I.htm Will try get a pic later of the actual rims if you're interested.
  13. That I do, hence why this would look awesome parked next to it 😎 Na you haven't, sadly it got very rundown - parked it up at a friends place while I was busy sorting a workshop out, they made the mistake of leaving it outside with the sheep, so it needs a lot of TLC now. Have been busy moving house and sorting out life and the new shed that's a lot smaller. It's currently in dry storage and I'm talking to a friend of mine who's a panelbeater, plan is to get him to go right over the body, I'll handle the mechanical and get another guy I know (and, most importantly, trust) to try and sort the battery drain issue that's plagued it from day one. Then she'll be back. I'll be updating with progress when I get onto it, it's taken a bit of a back seat atm while getting this new place sorted out.
  14. Trying to talk my partner into buying this, it would look good sitting next to the B11 here!
  15. Yeah I'm hearing you, quick question though which may help others - are you after a cable one or an e throttle one, as there's two different types. And I'll talk to my daughter (as it's her car) and, if we've got the right one, see if we can pull it out sooner if needed.
  16. Can probably get you one if you're not in a super rush, got an E46 coming to bits slowly here and we won't need the pedal. If you find something quicker and more local go for it, we're probably a couple of weeks away from getting back to stripping this thing.
  17. https://www.schmiedmann.com/en/bmw-E28/14547-new?product=11121730226 not sure if that's the correct one though, for an M535i.
  18. I'd say you may be, got to remember that manufacturers changed gasket designs over the years to change water or oil flow properties. Sometimes they restricted flow to help the head keep an even temp or warm up faster or slower, or to get more (or less) oil to certain galleries, after discovering minor issues. As long as the perimeter is sealed up, and the gasket is the right size and seals, those are the main things. Had the same issue many years ago with an old Datsun L series, and got to the stage I was on the phone to the company that made the head gasket, and they explained that exact thing to me. Bolted the changed design gasket up and never had an issue.
  19. Or you can try this for a complete kit: https://www.wallothnesch.com/en/engine-gasket-set-complete-incl-all-gaskets-for-m-5-all-years-of-manufacturing-please-order-head-bolts-also-11-00-00.html

    E9 Parts

Yeah I thought that's what you'd be more after lol. I will recommend a couple of places - Schmiedmann out of Denmark I think they are (https://www.schmiedmann.com/) and Wallothnesch out of Germany (https://www.wallothnesch.com/en/). Schmeidmann to me are far cheaper than buying from the US, and shipping is generally incredibly quick (usually around a week). Wallothnesch specialise in NOS for the classics - and their pricing is extremely realistic, though they are a bit hit and miss as to what they have in stock at the time. However, you can't beat around $40NZD for a front indicator lense that's NOS for an E3 3.0, when everyone else was asking $400 second hand. I get trade pricing out of Schmeidmann too, so if you get me a list of part numbers they've got that you need, I can see what sort of price I can get them for for you.

    E9 Parts

I've got an E3 here for parts that I shouldn't need suspension from, also think I may have both front and rear subframes with arms etc, plus maybe a steering column - can't remember if I kept the column. Subframes were removed complete, not sure of the state of the parts TBH so depends on what your plan is. Also hoping you aren't looking for these parts in a major hurry as getting to them is near impossible at the moment, it's a summertime job haha.
  22. Would you mind if I rang you or PM'd you with questions? Not sure which way I'm going with it just yet, and would really like to get some answers from someone who has done it before as to what combo works best.
  23. I'd be interested to to talk to you and hear your plans on this, as I've gotta rebuild the M20B25 in my E34 and looking at doing the same thing, curious as to which way you're going with it all and why. So much confusing/conflicting info online as to rod/piston combos and what's possible.
  24. No worries, let me know if you get stuck or what happens. May actually be cheaper to go through the dealer for these parts.
  25. Thanks for the part number, I assumed that was the part you were after. From Schmeidmann, a repo part will probably be just under $500 landed. Wallothnesch also have them, their pricing is $199 Euro (about $350ish) plus freight, I suspect theirs will be NOS - unfortunately I don't get trade pricing from them but some prices are amazing - NOS corner indicators for a 1973 E3 3.0 were $35 each plus freight compared to $350 each second hand. So I trust both those vendors. Schmeidmann are typically cheaper for freight but parts are dearer. Kapteijn Classic Parts is another option, though I can't vouch for them - I haven't bought anything from them yet but have been put onto them by someone restoring another E3, apparently they are quite good to deal with too. Let me know if you want me to try get firm pricing, though I suspect that may be more than you want to spend for a race car, but if not I'm happy to order on your behalf and get it sorted for ya.
