  1. Thanks, really appreciate the early feedback, in light of this discussion any one selling a good 530i or 535i e39? 🤣😁🙈
  2. I need help and an opinion on a project car, bought a 2000 e39 528i two years ago and spent some time and money on it but realised it is the wrong car to start out with due to a power aspect, what would you do? How much would you envision would be for a 540 base and transfer the necessary parts from my factory manual 528i (not msport and was looking at centres caps also for $200 something), see below for reference. I saw this listing you may be interested in: 2000 BMW 540i E39 https://www.trademe.co.nz/4651519748 Do you think it would be worth it?

    528i E39 Parts

Good day all, Still interested in this. Does any one have a msport donor car minus the engine? Want suspension, seats, lights, bumpers etc... If you have the other parts in the list as well I would be keen. I look forward to hearing from you.
  4. Any guesses what it may go for? I saw this listing you may be interested in: 2002 BMW M3 M3 Coupe https://www.trademe.co.nz/4658330104
  5. Additionally, there is a 2001 530d msport donor I want to buy and transfer parts.
  6. Thanks everyone, @jasera94 and @EagleI appreciate you being honest. @jasera94 I know how you feel, I am the same but with older models. The e39 has been a pain for me, however I knew this from @eagle and online research. Thinking of throwing in the towel with mine, being nic picky trying to get it to 100%. I am at a cross roads though because the potential, engine, performance, sound, etc... has me in love 😪. Would like to start getting involve personally with my build but not sure where to start. P.s. There is a parked E36 at my job I am eyeing 🤣, hoping it is an older resident with parts and maintenance up to date.
  7. Thanks for the update, appreciate the help
  8. Does this seem too good to be true or just a really good deal? E.g., Can I have your thoughts and expertise, do you think overpriced or reasonable? I saw this listing you may be interested in: 2008 BMW 135i https://www.trademe.co.nz/4605740129 Current owner had it for 6 years, has all service paper history, no accidents, factory manual and supposedly no known issues . Any one knows about this car or driver?
  9. Has this build been certified? Also, any more 135i projects coming up soon?
  10. Has this been dismantled or still up for grabs?
  11. I definitely read about the money pit part of this before buying one, I thought I was an exception but it is coming back to bite me in the butt :(. However, I have a vision and plan to make it an investment / long term car.

    528i E39 Parts

Hi Kiwi, Sweet update, thanks for this. I potentially want the spoiler. However, regarding the m sport exhaust which one is it, just the standard m sport or m performance? Asking all these questions because from my understanding if it is just the m sport it is the same as my current stock one except different tips right? Please correct me if I am wrong... Still new to the BMW world. I look forward to hearing from you, let me know if you have any questions.

    Bbs RG/RZ centre caps

    What models will they fit?
  21. Btw, I was wondering your opinions on an idea - a group, car meet with a learning experience / brotherhood type of setting I ask this because like cars but don't have the facility, space, tools yet and want to work on my car but some of the jobs can seem kind of daunting (fear of what could go wrong). So I was thinking of a car meet with a little more, see below: 1. BBQ/food included or on the premises (brings ppl together), 2. At the meet there would be a show and tell, e.g if someone is changing brakes others can come around and watch the process or help. This can also be monetized e.g. People can say what they need done before the meet, brakes, shocks, radio installation etc... if you are good with your hands you could offer to do it on site or for them at the meet for some quick cash. 3. You have you have a house or garage with a hoist or tools you can host a small meet there if you don't mind, even if you want to charge a little something for electricity etc.. 4. Networking opportunities - if you have a mobile business for tires, car wash, details you can operate get client jobs on site. I guess I am trying to build a community, friend group while helping others. It is always good when you can talk to others about more then just cars you never know what someone is going through but also build awesome car projects. Sorry for the rant but that is kind of a run down not full detail but you get the gist. Knowledge is meant to be shared. Feel free to critique the crazy idea.
  22. Thanks YTD, it seems all of the advice so far lines ups... Taking it this Friday to BM workshop for a check up :)... I will see what they say and what parts they offer. Noted about the strut bar, thanks not looking for performance just want to build my dream car and make sure she handles well, will looking in to the suspension and bushing as recommended.
  23. Very detailed thanks for this Eagle, I definitely had a look at your post a good couple of times (I have been eyeing this and other forums for sometime before buying). Yes a full suspension over haul will be loading :). Also I appreciate you and Miles taking the time out to speak and help me. As requested pics now attached :). Not shown here but cup holders unbroken, but other parts like radio and climate control buttons (some) unsticking haha we have a love hate more love tho
  24. Hi Everyone, I recently became a member with this beauty of a 2000 528i e39 (factory manual). Drove her up over the weekend from Christ Church to Auckland what an experience. Let's just say fun, but also some temper tantrums along the way. However, I wouldn't have it any other way. I am just wondering if any one was scrapping similar projects, had old parts they wanted to get rid of, or sell etc... I am not looking to build a race car but just improve her a little bit e.g. strut bar, exhaust (something low key), improve the suspension, improve the gear stick and some of the parts, headlights and potentially a body kit(still hesitant on this one). I know Rome wasn't built in a day and it will be a process but any help and advice I would appreciate. I have been doing my research but so much options and most of the 528i post in this forums are kind of old seems like they are forgotten about or every one go straight to the big brother the 540i. I look forward to hearing from you soon Cheers
