    Summer Work

Hello Forum! I have a friend looking for summer work. She needs to cover a certain number of hours to complete her BE. She just finished her 2nd year in Electrical Eng. I think she is after general engineering hours. Any suggestions on where she might be able to get some work or if you know anyone looking for people? It would be much appreciated! Thanks.

    Entertainment books

From memory the Entertainment book makers are on New North Rd (right at the start of it in Eden Terrace). On the left when your going away from town. They should sell them there?
  5. I meant cost for buying unlocked phones from NZ
  6. Hi Andrew Looking at getting an iphone. The V1.12 phone i can find is 100$ more expensive than the V1.00 one. So thinking whether to get the V1.00 and update the firmware and attempt to unlock it myself. Cant be bothered to be honest, but it is a 100$ difference and any updates in the future i would have to unlock anyway. Where did you get the instructions to unlock it from? A web link would be awesome! And you need wireless internet at home to unlock it? Thanks.
  7. Hello Looking to buy an iphone. Andrew, where did you get yours from? Assume the unlock is pretty simple to do? Do you charge through the usb cradle or did you find a charger for it? Thanks!

    My Dilemma....

I think everyone is missing my problem, i dont despute that the damage needs to be repaid, just the fact that who should paid it? Everyone knows whose fault it was, the person has admitted to it as well. It was an accident and was not intentional. But since it was a group trip the owner and the person responsible feels it should be split between all of the people that went on the trip. I mean after giving transport + petrol i dont feel like paying anymore for something i wasn't responsible for... but then again since it was a group trip and if it was my fault, i would still appreciate it if others helped out with the payment.

    My Dilemma....

Hello All, Having a small dilemma…am interested to hear what you would do? Went on a trip on labour weekend and stayed at a friends place. Somehow by accident two 1cm holes were burned in the carpet in the lounge by 2 others. The person who rents the house has informed the landlord of the 2 burn marks and they are getting it appraised tonight. He reckons it may be up to $150 each (4 of us). Because he has informed the landlord, he reckons it has to be fixed according to the landlords requirements. I provided transport + petrol. It was supposed to be free accommodation, now it doesn’t look like it anymore! I don’t like feel like giving any money to be honest, since it wasn’t my fault. But then again if it was my fault, I would appreciate it if the others helped out. Anyone been in the same predicament?
  10. Anyone know where i can buy one? I did see the 1200$ one at paralle imported, but bit too much than what i want to pay for it..............
  11. Wow, thanks A LOT for that info! whole new way of looking at it. Thanks for your time!
  12. Hey, thanks for the info. Yes already got in touch with a mortgage broker & bank and have the loan etc sorted and in place. Now in the process of looking for the house. The broker and loan bit was straight forward, the next part seems a bit tricky :-) I.E. is it better to make an offer on a place that is going to go on auction or better to wait till the auction? Just stuff like that im not too certain on.... :-S THanks again. And yeah, apparently the average sale price of Auckland houses in the last 3 months was $594,000. Which is not looking good for me with my budget! And, the renting your house out and renting another persons house to live in....many people do that?
  13. Hello, Looking to buy my first home. Have been browsing around for a while and there aren't that many of the sort we are after for the amont we have got to spend. I guess this is always the case?! Looking for something around the mid to high 400 mark in the ellerslie/mt wellington area. Was wondering whether there was any tips of the buying process anyone would have, websites i could read, books etc....on things like how to tackle the real estate agent, the process of making an offer, the auction process etc etc.... Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks!

  15. Hello I was playing around with the network settings on my work laptop so that i can connect it to my home pc to copy some files over, i changed it from the domain group to a workgroup named WORKGROUP. It asked for a restart and now i cant log into the laptop with my usual password. After a quick look online, it looks like i have royally stuffed it up. According to link below: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/317049/ Would anyone know a work around to i can log in somehow and set the settings back to as they were??? Thanks!

    IP Address

The reason i asked was i change IP address regularly on my work laptop cos i connect to controllers on different subnets etc so would be handy to know which IP address ive got my laptop configured to just by looking at my desktop rather than going into network properties all the time. Thanks ill have to try out the last link and see what that gives me. Thanks for the replies.

    IP Address

Hi Does anyone use or know of a program that i can download to show my current IP address on my desktop? Thanks.
  19. Yeah i dont think anyone will give 2 cents. I just had it in my head that the time i spend running cable from the battery would be a waste since its not really my car. We dont have insurance, apparently its cheaper to be self insured if you have a large number of cars. I found this out recently when i cracked my windscreen, just ended up putting the bill on my expense card. Yeah im not too fussed about the sounds being covered by insurance as the plan is on a cheapy anyway. Thanks.
  20. Hi guys I wanted to stay away from the cable from the battery cos its a company car, not because it scares me. Just wanted a small sub in the back to boost the sounds a bit. Since it looks like I HAVE to run the cable, im back to the dilemma of should i or shouldn't I... Thanks for the replies guys. Much appreciated.
  21. Hello The car is a 06 mitsi lancer. I want to hook up a small 10 inch sub to the factory headunit. I dont want to run cables from the battery to the boot. I do have a cig adapter in the boot. Was wondering whether there was any problem in using that and what sort of cable set-up should i use to run things properly? Thanks
