Catless downpipes for 335i
arktis replied to jamesmcd's topic in Forced Induction & Performance Tuning
This is the most positive review of catless downpipes I've seen to date. I had sort of resolved not to remove my cats but I'm tempted again now. -
As with any downturn, great time to be sitting on cash. Terrible time to be sitting on toys you love and in need of cash. I didn’t realise the E92 M3 was a V8. If they did an E91 I’d probably call it my dream car. Could be a cool project one day.

Found this on an FB page if you’re interested: https://www.facebook.com/groups/792622097429141/permalink/6643124639045495/?sale_post_id=6643124639045495&mibextid=S66gvF

Makes sense. I reckon I’m gonna be patient for a good deal, seeing as they’re for a set of spare wheels. Hyper had a great deal on Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5’s, but they didn’t have a good size for the rears. I’m loathe to get tyres that are narrower than factory, because I reckon a car like the 6er is probably pretty carefully engineered for a balance of comfort and performance. Comfort is important!

I’ve read that part about the 5 wearing better somewhere. Might’ve been you. Is there any reason not to go for XL’s? Everything I’ve read just says they have stronger side wall.

I'm in need of some tires for a new set of wheels. I need to replace 2 fairly bald PS4's and I would like to get rid of the Arevo sitting on one of the rears. I'm really keen on these Continentals. They seem to review well and the price isn't bad. However, I see a lot of excitement around Michelin PS range. I read that the XL's can be noisy, is that true? My car currently wears Potenza runflats, so it's likely that whatever I get I'll be fairly happy with. Another contender is Falken's FK510, which I currently have sitting in my cart on Hyper Drive. I'd be keen with Advan 103's as well but can't seem to find them for a good price. I checked out Bridgestone, pretty disappointing price-wise over there. Tony's only seem to stock Bridgestone so they'll only price match Bridgestone. What do you guys reckon? Are Michelins really as good as people say they are?

I’ll have a look. Cheers Olaf.

I'm a keen DIYer so I'll give it a go myself. Beautiful car in your pic Treone.. 840ci? Does anyone have recommendations on exhaust options for the V8's?
-
Cheers Olaf. I haven’t heard of the sunroof drains being a problem, I’ll have a look into that. My to-do list is ever growing.. I’m always keen to spin some yarns over a beer.

Cheers! Here are some of my favourite ones. Kidney grills are begging to be re-dipped - it's on the list.. Today I'm gonna find out about fitment, and what sort of 19's I can run. Ever since I got the car I've wanted some wheels with more spokes. Mine have grown on me though.

Hi guys, I'm keen to either gut my cat or weld a straight pipe to the exhaust manifold in place of it. Any recommendations on an exhaust shop around Welly? I'm open to having a high flow cat made as well, but I don't know how feasible it is to have one fabricated. Goal is to unlock the sound a bit while adding a sliver of power before I get a tune done. I'm open to other recommendations, I've only just started learning about exhaust mods. Cheers.

What's up guys, I've had my E63 for a while now and I've spent quite a bit of time reading other forums such as m5board, Bimmerfest, and Bimmerpost. I mostly treated my E63 like I would any other car, until I came across Timm's YouTube channel, and his website on MeekNet. Since then, I've realised how worthwhile it is to give your car some proper TLC, and since then I've developed a real passion for my car. I've learned to use INPA and NCS Expert, and a whole bunch about scheduled and preventative maintenance. I was looking for a forum like this to get some regional know-how, as I'm keen to do some work to the exhaust. Americans make it sound so easy to get an Eisenmann exhaust bought and fitted - but not the case in NZ! I was massively into cars as a kid, but my E63 is the first car I've owned that I've felt any passion for. At the moment I'm keen to get a bit more power out of it without spending too much, and without deviating too much from factory. Aesthetically, the only thing I'm keen to do is to get 19's - my favourite look is the BBS LM look you used to see on a lot of E36's. Alpina B6 wheels are sweet too.

This has probably been mentioned a hundred times, but - people who market their car as M Sport package because they had three of the kidney grill fins painted red/blue/white and bought an M steering wheel.
