got a set of 17x8 BBS. like new rubber. 235/45/17. et10

so, it runs. lots of noise as i've no exhaust pipe, just the down pipe-which ends under my feet. have done a few 'laps' sedately round the local streets.not running many pounds of boost as we are keeping the revs down over the last few days.there are whistling noises from the turbo and LOUD farts from under the car.engine feel light, and responsive.think it does make a difference not having a interior/trim etc so a 100kg less overal. plugged in the computer that ran the e28 project with the programing for that engine.(42lb injectors) was rich in its settings then,so the thinking is that with the 55lb injectors now it will be very rich. planning is to get some K's on the clock and then take it to the dyno for tuning. wastegate is running a 6lb spring so things dont go wrong too soon. today, was alittle different.took it to the local mechanics to get the handbrake adjusted, brakes bled, check things over underneath.basically all loose ends tidied up so we can move onto the interior. the all important airhorns installed,cable-tide afew wires done. on the way home, followed by the mechanics lexus V8 MX5,i pushed it abit,/so was he apart from the large black cloud that eminated from under my car,6psi of boost was rather eye opening. not like the power switch the e28 had, more smooth power kick and the best part it started round 2500 rpm. stalls/coughs/shudders/backfires round the 4000-5000 in the rev range as it tryed to clear its lungs of fuel.(severe over fuelling) but apart from that,i cant wait to crank upto 12psi need to put the interior in; anyone keen to give me a hand?? want to swap out the dash etc to put in the tidyiest bits i have would be fine to muck around on saturday but me knee gave out/pain etc as i needed to lift a auto trans for Brent. cheers m

i have a couple of 86mm cranks with rods on the shelf. plus a couple of m90/93.4 bore blocks m
-
recheck 'em rod lengths, m30's are 135mm long, crank is 86mm. yes a 3.3 crank out of a e9, is 89mm from memory. havnt found one yet, but keen on it if someone has one. correct brent, m90 block with newwer m30 crank and rods. spend 300 odd $$ more and bore out the pots to 95mm.makes 3658cc. could bore out more but 5mm cylinder walls is thin enough i think especially when adding boost or stick to the older block with a short crank (80mm)+flash rods.makes round the 3.2L. I like his combo cause it has the makes for a high rev monster cheers m

i voted 235/45/17 all round, mainly price based and good all round performance. but what are you after? track, daily(comfort),looks or ,more importantly, respect from other BS members? couple of folks are raising the issue with the new project, rear wise. saying i need to stick 255+ on 'for traction etc'. phewwie i say m

selling tickets?? i want to see this

GM' bankruptcy was inevitable really. for years they made and offered vehicles that heavy on fuel and the finish for them was something left to be desired. it was easy for the japanise menufactures to come to the table with quality cars and when the cheap oil finally dried up (we all knew that had to happen at some point), they lost a lot of sales.most intelligent managers would/could have seen the future develope into the mess it is today but maybe that was the plan all along. smoke and mirrors i say one thing i do understand is that in these times wealth is not lost, just transvered to fewer hands
-
afew hours spent over the weekend with the soldering iron. not much more to do. main thing left is the fuel lines and hook up the pump.
-
when finished would like to have round the 450rwhp,early days yet

does my 'cooler look big in this??? managed to fit a 500x300x100 cheapie off trademe. didnt do the work my self.got REALLY tired of cold concrete on my ass. 2 days and its done.re did the top hoes off the termostate housing, alittle tight but it'll work. also maybe rework the bumper to allow more air over the 'cooler at some stage-not at the mo,its taken a year +. not long now till i also become a envirometal bandit cheers m

just a qiuck survey of BS members would be interested in V8 manual kits. possible csi v12,but short on supply could be going over that way later this year, if so, would'nt mind spending a bit of time picking up bits and pieces round the traps.i know i would like to keep one on the side,'just in case'. no time set as yet. Grandma's still 'hanging in there' dont ask $$,check ebay for pricing + freight +exchange rates +going to get it putting it out there m
-
think for a tidy finish,i'd cut the tubes flush and have 'em welded.20min job. plugs/caps would look to bulky, now that i see the problem m
-
Still gotta block off ICV and PCV holes in the throttlebody, Any ideas how ? Was thinking get them welded closed but maybe just block them off with hose somehow.. And need to mount m50 variable TPS to it. looking good are you using the standard intake boot? if so its rubber, and will happly take a bung of sum sort.their plastc and cheap i went to my local irrigation/plumbing shop.19mm from memory.very tidy finish. can post pic if required m

topcat replied to [email protected]'s topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
