not a bad day at the office. not great weather for a dyno queen, but realistic. 10psi spring only,no boost extra controls could be alittle leaner,would/did net a 5-8kw more. should be a good when the 12 pound spring goes in.( )maybe higher ed,more details

Cheers guys, did manage a skip or two, but that was cause the boat ramp was/is rather slippery out at kawakawa bay . had an awesome day out sailing on the trimaran. first time out too, since buying the thing 3 months back anyways, cheers all and its dyno time thurs, friday next week marty

Got a e32 3.5L motor. ran fine, and started easy. did a compression check the other day for someone else who was keen on it-didnt hear back. numbers came up to 155-160psi across all six. test was done cold,so should show better number hot. can sell loom and ecu cheers marty
-
great numbers so far..... just a thought, did you adjust the cams back to TDC after sliping in such a thick gasket? a few dergree's out will make quite a big difference with lag and off boost driving. advance or retarded cams will favour the top or bottem of the rev range. cheers m
-
yes, the dyno will be interesting.driving round is interesting with the lightened crank and flywheeldont really feel the 'torque kick' but is crying out for upping the rev limit to7k. i think their just stuck on,not sure.bought the car with kit.might one day bondo the flares into part of the body, giving a wide body look. yep, go get 'em.no hating here, buy 'em i say.and yes, i can build you something. cheers mate,it has been along time in the making.finishing takes me twice as long as starting-funny that any ideas on wheels yet??
-
as promised,an update on my project. not to upstaging anyone's turbo project i hope bit of cosmetic stuff to get done-eventually the body kit looks good from a distance,up close its not 100% interior is a light grey/almost white leather from a late 540.charcoal carpets, hoodlining and black trim where possible.two tone seat belts off a 740. engine will dyno'd after the intake is welded up(again).small vaccum leak is reather annoying. As for wheels, they need to be sent off for a cleanup etc. need what finish should i go for?silver paint/silver paint with polsihed lip/silver,bronze combo/chrome-?? m

intake pic, proof of the big bang

All good, just back from another run down to the waikato and back. runs ok,not tuned yet. still running the e28's fuel map with a 2.5bar regulator. not really any different engine bay wise, maybe tidier. at 6psi it doesnt set any new speed records, but lights the rears in second,so its a start. that, and still does twice the open road speed limit with ease builds boost from 2k and i estimate 3.5 is full, hard to tell,as i still have a small leak in the intake manifold that wasnt fixed last time it was off looking for sum more intake gaskets as the ones on it now have been recycled ones already with the last problem.dont think they'll do the job a third time round. interior is basicly done, looks good. lots of vibrations coming thru the car/seats. dont think the wheels are 100% round. might ask for votes on how i should have them refurbished-but thats another thread i'll post pics later m -
I had the sameproblem with my e28. autolighn couldnt find anything at the time that would drop and inch or so and stiffen it up alittle. and nothing else would fit. ended up using a set of m-tech's and cut a coil or two off each one.then measuring/balance them so they were even with each other.worked well. droped 'bout 30mm and added 25% stiffer spring rate and still captive. cheap mod

i like the idea, have followed a few guys in the states with clapped out e28's etc. heaps of fun.i'm sure i could resurect a pile of s**t or two. for the sake of a simple license,i've no issue with that. its not that abigger deal, most folks can blow that sort of $$'s in a night on the town. lets not bury this idea just yet m

Did you install studs? if you did,it should have handled.then again bolts are also pretty good. the e28 project had a 9.0-1 CR and ran 15lbs boost-with bolts(used),no dramas I'd be comfortable with 10-12psi at 9.6CR. (where im headed) if everything is optimal,MSL,studs and both faces have been machined etc,i'd (carefully) tune it up to 14psi could be realized.it wouldnt be the first 10-1 with 15lb's of boost motor on the track/streets either way,it sucks eggs.m

all three have 8mm of tread.no shoulder wear. came off my e28.fourth tire damaged/nail through side wall. sell 'em for 150 each. currently qouted 220-240 each new.can courier to where ever not using them as i've switched to 17" ed; size would be helpfull,225/50/16 cheers marty
-
free to a home. tidy, cleaned and need to go soon.pick up is prefered but can send by truck. didnt end-up using 'em in my project. cheers marty
-
now thats a good sized boat. 40/45 ft? +? waiting on much to get it rigged up etc? just bought a trimaran not long ago myself, althought i aint that big . cheers m

Hi all, to finish the interior on the 537, i need to fit a light grey/almost white leather with wood trim. these came off the latter models, usually the individual packages. so,if youve got something, speak up.love to hear from you cheers marty
