  1. Basically I am wanting my headlights modified by OSS designs

but it requires my headlights to be sent to the US, modified and then sent back

As i will need my car during that time - has anyone got any spare e92 headlights for my car- am willing to "buy" if can get a guarantee i can sell them back for the price i paid or pay some sort of deposit on the spare headlights i will use, and a guarantee or something to buy them outright if i damage them

    let me know

  2. Jealous of your set up. I really want to put some money aside to purchase one but need to focus on my car build.

Hoping to borrow a camera this week for the racing at Taupo this weekend. Is a Sony action cam.

    Car sounds good btw.

thanks, been a big fan of the GoPro's - but they get quite expensive once you add all the options ( eg batterypac, mic adapter etc)

bought it through http://www.rubbermonkey.co.nz/, with the savings on the options etc - bought a large case to carry all the stuff in and still was cheaper then buying it directly from the GoPro website

the external mic makes such a difference, with all the sound deadening stuff in the cabin, unless i have my window down - don't usually hear the snap & crackles from the exhaust

  3. Not sure what you mean Matt

Gavin@bmworkshop i believe installed the LSD in my car

only thing i remember is that certain models of the 335i had welded, others like mine was bolted so it was a easy swap, the welded ones you needed to get the whole pumpkin or something like that

  4. FFTEC In-line Low Pressure Fuel Pump has arrived, getting installed this week

    http://www.procedetuning.com/BMW/n54/styled-21/styled-22/index.html

Will be able to run straight e85 without having to blend with 98, can't wait to test it out @hampton downs this weekend

Waiting on the following paint to arrive:

got the idea from this: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=763648&highlight=stoptech

  5. I want to get an OFT for my stock 335i and will be running it on 98... do you find OTS stage 1 (or stage 2 map given you're FBO) run fine with that fuel? I will end up getting DCI, DPs and upgraded IC, planning to run the stage 2 map with 98 so would be interesting to hear your thoughts!

    Hey

OFT stage 1 and OFT stage 2 maps ran fine on BP 98 - I am currently testing the gull force 10 on the stage2 map -

I am expecting less milage on gull force10 due to the ethanol content and i need to get it up on the dyno to see if there is a difference between the 2

anyone selling e85 fuel down in wellington? the e40 map stomps all over the stage2 map

  6. Ya was quite easy, did the order on the website, got a email back with final cost with shipping and payment details, did the bank transfer, emailed them to confirm transfer, then got email with tracking number, then tyres were at my door

    Ordered Mitchelin PSS

    2 X 285/25/20

    2 X 245/30/20

    Tyres: US $1426.00

    Shipping: US $287.82

Total Price inc shipping was : US $1,713.82 (back on the 6/6/13)

do remember that there will be customs charges when they arrive - mine was $363.42

Dealt with Charlie (charlie@tirerack.com), helpful and got everything sorted

  7. yeah I'm looking at the pretty much the same set for my car, the Michelin Pilot super sports .. with tire-rack how is the payment system?? I hear it's a bit difficult??

how did you go about your order, any tips mate? :)

Ya, for international orders they don't accept credit cards , only bank transfers - thankfully with ASB i could do this online without having to go into the bank

  8. I was quoted between $3-3.5K for the Michelin PSS locally. Bought for $1,093US online + shipping to get here. Probably land for less than $2K NZ.

Pretty much the same deal when i was looking to get some Mitchelin PSS on my Vossen CV3 wheels, bought them from tiretrack and was at my door in like 4days

  9. As regards the Gull force 10 is their not a percentage of ethanol in that mixture. Would be checking if it is save to be using it in a BMW just erring on the side of caution. As mentioned 98 is the fuel to go for but if not an occasional bit of 95 would not be to bad.

BMW cars after 1996 are supposedly fine with ethanol fuel

Ethanol is a great fuel product for turbo cars - lots of benefits

Are you talking about blending ethanol with BP Ultimate 98 to create some kind of custom fuel with (possibly) higher than 98 octane?

As supplied, the BP Ultimate 98 does not contain ethanol from the pump. Gull Force 10 has 10% ethanol in it.

When i am blending - i was putting 30L BP 98 and 30L Gull Force Pro

Currently testing using the Gull Force 10 & Gull Force Pro blending

useful tool on working out blending : http://www.intercepteft.com/calc.html

  10. I have been using BP 98 , but was recently advised I should use the gull force 10 -

Haven't tested it yet as it's been the hols and been running e50

It's is a bit of a issue sometimes finding a 98 fuel station - was forced a few months ago to fill up on some 95 fuel - pulled the logs and could see my car was not happy - timing being pulled by the ecu etc

Would be a lot more happy if they started selling e85 ;)

Driving to puke is bit of a hassle , but the performance of the fuel is worth it ;)

  11. What did you have it attached to the car with ? I dont think Ive ever seen the suction mount fail like that?

here is a vid I did with a ex DTM car which was fine mounted on the outside at 240kph on the striaghts.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKXYUv1x9Yg

    car looks quick btw :)

Was the suction mount - but i think i had loosened the other bolts on the mount when i was playing around with the setup and hence the moving around effect - will be alot tighter next time

Car looks very quick, Suresh. Looking forward to more footage!

thanks :D - will have my new go pro 3+ cam setup for the 11th Jan 2014 @ hampton downs - hopefully get alot more better footage

As a constructive feedback on your driving (if I may) ... you are missing a lot of corner apexes and braking points.

I timed a few of your laps and they were in the 1:22 mark.

Your car also seemed to understeer a lot in the flowing corners (2,3,4) which could be why you weren't hitting the corner apex). 2, 3 and 4 need to be driven as one flowing section rather than individual corners.

I did a good lesson with Mike Eady in this which is a standard 323i on road tyres and I was doing 1:20s in slight damp conditions with him in the car:

    Please do!

thanks for the feedback - will try to work on those points next time

2nd time on hampton downs, first car since my boy racer days that was fast & turbo'd - over 10years ago when i had my evo 6

I feel like i am still learning a lot more about my car's handling/what it can do and i really haven't yet pushed to the limits -

    • Worried about crashing my ride - its my daily driver
    • How would my car run with e40 tune - could the car sustain that tune all day and not go into limp mode
    • How was my oil temp for the sessions (after the first time at hampton downs, realised i would need to get a aftermarket oil cooler)
    • DSC completely off ( last time was driving with DTC on)
    • How far i can push my stock brakes
    • Doing track days on 20inch mags & tyres are not ideal at all and i sometimes worry how far i can push them (the sidewall is always on the back of my mind)

Would love to get some lessons or pointers while driving @ hampton downs

I am in the middle of sorting out a new BBK and 17 wheel and tyre setup to be ordered - still doing some research

E30 Series cars are doing 1:22 around Hampton.

A good teacher makes a huge difference. I was lucky enough to have Dan Gaunt teach me a few things.

If you are ever at Hampton and an E30 Series car is there. Jump in behind it and follow their lines. You should be able to match them through the corners for a couple of laps on road rubber. Then use that awesome straight line speed.

ya next time i'm gonna que up in the middle group, should be a better selection of drivers to follow and see their lines (the two times at hampton i have been in driving training group and then slow cars as a mate of mine came down as well- the groups i have been in)

  12. Car looked quick. But man you need to get that Go-Pro mounted properly. Was making me feel sick the way it was moving haha.

ya, next time gonna try a new position and definitely get it mounted better - trying to figure out how to get the exhaust sound - may need to run a external mic via the boot down to the license plate or something, will need to do some testing

  13. This car is sick. The LSD really makes it.

What car did you come from if you dont mind me asking?

Any e90 m3 boys tryin' to step?

    thanks alot :D

LSD has made a huge difference especially with the power change on the car

my previous car was a 2003 AC Schnitzer e46 325ci
