  1. f**kers.

    ^^

Valentine One. If they didn't have these "hits" it would be one less reason to buy one, and id probably get tickets for time to time as well instead of never.

For the last 10years , always had one installed in my cars - that has saved me thousands of dollars of potential fines and demerit points

  2. Right side hose just needed tightening up some more. During the install there was a bit of oil in the pipes, so think that bms oil catch can is on the cards

and the sound disappeared once it was tightened? - hmm if so may need to check mine

ya catch can is pretty good mod, saves you from having to get your intakes cleaned out which is a pain from what i hear

  3. Was out at bmworkshop yesterday afternoon getting some dyno results and logs from my normal 98 maps

e40 comparison versus my stock baseline

    u552.jpg

Stage1 versus Stage2 map - very underwhelming ( only thing we can note was it was about 10 degrees hotter when we were doing the stage2 pull yesterday versus when we did the stage1 pull)

logs from when car was up on the dyno

  4. So much happier with having a LSD installed, hampton downs was a lot of fun - you know its been a good day when you use a full tank of gas on the racetrack :D

Will need to look at getting another oil cooler for track days - in the afternoon had 2 sessions where it was running about 135 degrees

  5. Love the diff photos.

That car must go like hell!

Played around last night a bit, car definitely feels very different when launching and cornering feels alot more solid - backend used to twitch and in the wet it was worse - out at hampton downs tomorrow - will know alot more soon :D

ya its quite fun running ethanol, car used to feel like a bit sluggish/torque wasn't as there at high rpm's on normal 98, with the ethanol maps car just pulls all the way to red and gives me a big smile at the moment :D

    Lol, I bet!

With the exception of those wheels (damn right I'm envious!) I like the fact you've kept everything subtle. Any plans on upgrading the turbo?

Its on my list - but not high priority - with the amount of time the car's been out of my hands with bits getting installed etc , need more time to enjoy the car

would be keen on the stage3 turbo upgrades as the stage 1 & 2 setups still use the factory turbo housing which is tiny and when dialing in that much power on them - issues with smoking/overheating

all the stage3 at the moment are for the LHD market, no RHD models yet

FFTEC have been running a big single turbo - not that keen on a single setup

Vargas Turbo are doing upgraded twin turbo setup - no plans for RHD models

CPE at sema came out with a very nice looking kit - no price yet (http://atmosphereturbo.com/)

  6. "Perky" ?!?!?!?!

Those are some nice figures for a daily! :)

    :D

I have a inline walbro pump on it's way so i can run e85 - will be quite interested to see the comparison - only worrying thing at the moment is the torque on the AT transmission ~ 640 Nm

    Edit******

Looks like around 550wtq is the so called "safe" limit on the alpina flashed AT , - which is about 745 Nm

  7. Got the final bits installed this week except the boost guage (its seems to be angled for LHD drivers - and they told me it wasn't

got it up on the dyno this arvo , was quite hot and humid when doing the runs -

  8. Not to sound too negative but I doubt you will have much luck, especially on the 01/01. I wouldn't want to be doing labour only on either of those two days, or if I was it would be at a pretty decent rate. You are effectively cutting them out of business by supplying your own tyres and brake pads and the double whammy is you are asking them to do it on almost a public holiday.

I am prepared to pay fair costs - not prepared to get ripped off - which some NZ business think they can get away with - few examples

    • When I was looking at getting Michelin PSS tyres for my Vossen wheels - quotes ranged from 3.2 - 3.5K

Bought them from tyretrack for less then 2K shipped into NZ.....

    • When i was looking to buy Vossen CV3 mags - got a fair quote from Platinum Wheels - paid my deposit and waited 8 weeks (supposed to be only 4-6 weeks) only to have the mag wheels fitted and them turn around and charge me more then what I could of got the wheels online
    • When I was looking at getting the BMW performance exhaust - had Ross get a quote from Jerry Clayton- they wanted to charge me $3600 ex Germany

I can buy the same exhaust online & shipped from the US for $1400

Wonder how you can justify the insane markup.

Sorry Tristan... but I need to add to this.

There are a number of people on here that I have helped and done all the hard work to check and make sure what they are ordering from overseas are the correct parts and of a reasonable standard / quality on the understanding I was going to do the work, having diagnosed and confirmed the faults or necessary repairs at no cost... only to be shiited on and these people getting there "mates" or other repairers to do the work.

That's not cool , after helping them etc - they should be getting you to do the work

  9. Hey, mind if I ask where you sourced the Arkym lip from?

    Bought them from JGmods :http://www.jgmods.com/index.php/arkym-aero-sport-front-lip-spoiler-for-e92-e93-m-sport.html

had them sent to kiwishipping ( need to tell them you're not a US citizen or residing in CA to avoid the CA tax) and that is a freight forwarder

i got them the lip for $760 US - may of been as i also ordered the side splitters from them - as it was black friday sales last week - may be cheaper then the web price

ask for Jay (orders@jgmods.com) - he was very easy to deal with and getting everything sorted

  10. thanks guys for the comments :D

its been a few exciting months getting it transformed from stock.

have a few future mods i am looking at to get done

    • Carbon Fiber trim to interior
    • CIC or NBT(if it comes available soon for the e9x) upgrade
    • Carbon Fiber hood and trunk
    • new tyres for my 19 oem wheels for track days

depending how the car goes on the track

    • BBK brakes
    • additional oil cooler

  11. Next week @bmworkshop the following will be installed (just in time for trackday on the 24th @hampton downs)

    Wavetrak LSD: http://www.limited-slip.com/acatalog/How_A_Wavetrac_LSD_Works.html

    DEFIV lockdown kit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFPCNkL6HPE

    ECS Boost Guage: http://www.ecstuning.com/ES2594189/Video310-HD/

    New Engine Cover: http://www.ecstuning.com/ES2542524/

Resonators being added to my exhaust setup (too raspy for my liking at the moment)

  12. When I was looking at coilovers for my E46 I had settled on KW V2s or V3s. Autoquip in Penrose has these for a VERY competitive price. Even cheaper than importing them from the US (by a fair amount).

These have a very good international following, and have been used by a number of board members here. In fact, one member has just put them on his E46 M3.

Yep - Chris@autoquip had very good prices - I bought KW V3 coilovers for my e92 and am loving them :D

  13. Will do , probably won't get around to installing until xmas. Definately not as big as your monster.

    Hows the diff?

Had a missing package from the USA to NZ - that took a couple of weeks to sort out (diff lockdown kit)

car's currently at GT refinishers getting the guards rolled and installing my new lip and side - next week @bmworkshop the LSD, lockdownkit, boost guage, new enginer cover will be done - just in time for sunday's track day at hampton downs

    Foo that's a thick one!

Cool to see the 335i's have fallen to a price point where tuning enthusiasts are starting to play with them a bit more, its great that the rest of the world have been doing it for 7 or so years so the development is done and the car is old enough that the parts have come way down in cost. Can see quite a few of these beasts being built over the next few years.

Definitely, its just a pity that all the stage3 turbo's are only for the LHD market at this stage

I have been playing around with a e40 map and i have just been so impressed how hard it pulls - i have a inline pump (for the lower fuel pressure pump) on its way so i can run straight e85 - will need to get it up on the dyno once done

  14. Generic Google imagine but it's like this:

    IMG_5250.jpg

This has been bugging me lately - i have the same issue on my car (was tinited at Car Folie in the city)

I opted for the carbon supreme when the car was tinted

Has anyone gone back to Car folie on resolving this issue? - that thread you linked Jeff was very informative on sorting out the issue
