  1. Hi There!

I have a 2011 335i Touring which I am enjoying except for it's lack of Grip.

I was thinking it was about time I got an alignment, balance and possibly a rotation. Can I take this car anywhere (I am in Auckland Central) or should I be looking for a specific place? Do runflats require the same rotations etc that other tyres do ?

Also I had heard that it's possible that there are newer and better RFT's than the ones I have and that these are contributing to me constantly seeing my traction control lights lighting up.

Lastly In about 6 months I'll be looking to move this vehicle along and upgrade to something else, most likely the Audi S4 or an XDrive 335D since the 335i isn't offered as a touring here. My car is pristine and has about 25,000KM's on it, I am wondering it's value approximately?

As above from Steve - get a LSD for your 335i if you want to sort out the traction issues

Also the RFT's on mine were terrible, one of the best changes (esp for getting traction) was switching to the Michelin PSS

  2. I have been with AA for years - my 335i was initially with them - but then when informing them about the mods - they wouldn't cover me anymore (not surprised as they don't even insure you if you buy a M3)

Switched over to NAC and they seem to be fine with all the mods i have done etc - Tho am looking at maybe Prestigo or someone else as they offer track day cover

  3. I'm itching for another track day, but can't make anything in early April because of work.

I'm keen for something in the last half of April / early May though. Uncle's Club usually have one in the first week of each month.

    James

I am planning to go on the 19th April @Hampton Downs - let me know if you're keen

    **edit**

    sounds like fun

    hope you're coming on sat?

I'm 10 minutes up the road and while I don't have anything I'd want to put around the track, I'd like to come along and soak up the atmosphere.

I'm pretty good at changing wheels, too. :)

    :D

Def should come down, already convinced Josh (jfnz) to take his 335i out on the track , We might of convinced Matt today as well to take his 335i out as well today - so could be some fun with 3x 335i's on the track :D

  4. Youll most likely find your phone app will only work at 1hz .. youll need to look at 5 or 10hz (external GPS such as Qstarz 818xt.

While Dashware has intepolation with the numerical values, it suffers around resolution for moving map and corners.

Ya I was reading about how the smartphone's GPS wasn't accurate enough

Now I have the i-drive navigation/phone integration setup on my car - so I was assuming it would be using the car's shark fin and that would be more accurate then the iphone - but I haven't investigated it further yet

  5. I have had good results with dunlop formula r. Semi slicks

Though would pribably choose r888 toyos.

Have found toyo proxes 4 the best wet weather tyre just incase you are looking at more than one set.

Also try to stick with a standard size.

The compounds harden with age so an oddball size nay be much older when you buy it rather than a common size.
