Cause if you bore a 80mm to standard 83.98 you have basicly a new standard 2.5L block. I have a set of mint standard 11:1 eta pistons that I don't want to slap in an old block...

Can a 2 litre 80mm M20 block be bored out to standard size 83.98mm 2.5 litre?

I just modded a set of 4 door front seats to tilt forward for my E21. It can be done easily.

4 door motorsport seats can be easily modified to tilt forward like coupe seats. So if you see a set of 4 door seats like I did, and want to fit them in your 2 door, they have the same mechanism. All you have to do is use the bits from a shagged out set of coupe seats and fit them to the 4 door seats. All the holes are there - just a bit of tack weld or use rivets to fit the levers and cables etc and your done. They are the best seats. You can still buy new covers. They are completely modular - as in everything comes apart easily like primo German Engineering does AND they feel so good. Jump on them.

Its just like the ignition timing is too far advanced. More noticeable when flooring it say at 80ks in 5th and you hear the rattling noise that goes as the revs increase. I have a 173 ECU, 19lb injectors, stock cam, M30 AFM. It starts mint, idles spot on. I tried a 735i 179 ECU and it helped but did not eliminate it and had crap cold start and idle. ( maybe due to being from an auto ). The compression is high at 210psi. The head and block were not planed. I havn't tried 98 yet but would like to be able to use 95 and have it tuned for that.

Its a 2.7 with 11:1 eta block and 885 head. There is detonation. I did ring Gavin and he might be able to help with a copy of map for a similar engine. Failing that I am going Megasquirt.

I rang those guys and they don't do it. NZEFI recommended going Link G4. What is every one else running in there 2.7s?

Is there anyone in the South Island that can remap motronic ECUs for my 2.7? I have timing issues.

Thanks..didn't think of the 3L ECU..do you have any?. I tried a copy of an Alpina chip..helped but not eliminate the detonation..I know the ECU remap is the way to go..anyone in Chch do the motronic tune?

Suggestions on performance cam and where to get one or have one made. I have a 2.7i with 11:1CR eta pistons and 885 head. The compression is high 210psi and want to bleed of compression with a cam with overlap. There is a bit of detonation occuring...not too bad but with an agressive cam it will hopefully stop detonation a give it some extra power in the upper RPM.

Anyone have E21 front struts or trailing arms or just the wheel hubs..can trade for M20 or E30 parts or cash..??

Shelve it..forget about it, get on the piss, don't even look at it and come back to it after a few weeks. Then decide.

Um I tried that and got the same result. RealOEM doesn't cater for anything this old.The guys in the US reckon she's a '69 1600-2..definitley pre 71 but later than 66 cause its 12volt not 6 volt. Old stuff!!
