  2. Hi. Put this up on trade me as parts or complete car. Could be put back on the road with a re-vin and bit of work. Has had a crash at some stage in its life and has been repaired. I checked the chasis and it measured within a few mm. Can be driven although brakes will need a bleed.   8. Wonder what a 1987 left hand drive E30 316 carb with 5 speed box is worth. Very tidy inside and out and low k's. Rego is on hold and has no wof but would pass easy. White.
  9. I was hoping to swap the bell housing and it would fit. So the 530 will have a 4 bolt output flange? Could that be swapped.I have the good trans and can pick up the 530i for nicks
  10. This car as a faulty trans...probably bad clutch pack from what Ive read. Question is will a 4hp22 from a 1990 E30 325i fit? E30 trans has a 3 bolt output flange and a 2 pin plug on the side. Thanks
  11. Pretty much rust free and complete, runs ok. Starts first time. 4 speed manual. Selling due to changed circumstances. Inka orange and has sunroof. Comes with a spare E12 head. Interior is quite good and looking at the condition I would say it has 189000 on the clock as speedo says 89000. Has plates, but rego expired. Anyone interested please PM me for more details

The combo I used: 11:1 eta block 885 head stock cam ( needs to be at least a 272 but will be putting in a 288 for those upper RPMs) 19lb ford yellow injectors from ebay port matched stock manifolds 2.7 C2 alpina chip new rings, bearings etc M30 afm Goes well, needs the cam but the torque is great. The bad..only runs 98, old eta's collapse the skirts on the pistons and give you piston slap when cold...but I can live with it. Best advice to you is build a 2.8

  17. I know..I have a couple of power steering racks as well but its not the money its just you cannot get some bits now so we gotta keep em here. Its like 325i E30 heads..they are sending them all to Austrailia and are becoming rare for us kiwis..I say f..k em we need those bits here!

  20. Stripping out this weekend going to the mincer Monday. Any part you need let me know. Front grill, headlights, wheel hubs, rear brakes, motor, box, diff, drive shaft, front windscreen gone.
  21. Thats good reading. When I put the 2.7 together in my E21 I used original the 2 piece 3 branch manifold. I matched it to the 885 head exhaust ports best I could but the original downpipes are smaller diameter than stock 325 as is the rest of the exhaust. The engine makes excellent low to mid power and pulls to redline but there is no surge in power after 4500 like a stock 325 so I am thinking the exhaust is restrictive. I have a stock 325 manifold and down pipe and will get new exhaust made up to the rear and see what happens. Will be interesting to notice and difference. What are the best headers we can source here?
  22. I hear back pressure crop up all the time..what is the meaning. Race cars just have a big straight pipe with a minimal bends and no silencing there fore no back pressure and they are tuned for maximum Hp?
  23. I just removed a twin pipe system from an E30 325 and the weight is huge. Just using a single pipe will save weight and less weight=more hp. The standard BMW exhaust system is efficient. Using headers is not standard so 6 into 2 then into a large diameter single pipe to the rear should provide free flow with no restriction. I am about to investigate this for my E21. My friend has just had headers installed on his E21 and is 6 into 2 then single pipe to the rear cross member where it divides into 2 again with 2 small mufflers either side at the back. Sounds awesome and improved mid range.
  24. Hi Charles..did you buy that muffler of me about a month ago?Anyway my 2.7 is 11:1 with 885 head, 19lb injectors and M30 AFM. Will not run on 95 only 98 and I went to great lengths to get an eprom written for 2.7L to make it run without "pinging" It has 210 psi compression so with a 731 it will be higher and it will have to dyno tuned. I may be able to help with a correctly mapped for 2.7L eprom for your ECU if need be. Best bet is to use the 885 head, get it dyno tuned and hope for up to 120kW at the rears.
