Not really, which means no I guess. I actually think it's a good buy and do want another car, but 3 Bimmers is probably too many, will stick with 2 and something else.
-
To think I offered $15k plus last year and he wouldn't even return a call.

Come on guys, give the dude some credit, he's managed to fit 6 cylinder pistons and cams to a four, must be some sort of genius.

I have had 3 e30's, i like the e36 because it is reasonably modern while the e30 is abit old hat plus the e30 hood is beyond replacing if it goes wrong
Why is the hood on the E30 "beyond replacing"?

I've seen the car. At least one or two wheels are toast, the suspension is stuffed, the body/chassis is bent. The reason it went off the road is that if you can't afford to make the repayments, you don't have the money for new tyres. Then you give it to your wife to drive in the rain and she stuffs it into a motorway barrier. Engine is probably good and the interior is nice, but that's about all. Also, it's been sitting for about 5-6 months. Still worth a punt at the right price though.

This happened to a mate at BP Dairy Flat on the m'way north. They sent a letter saying he'd driven off without paying $71 or so. He produced a receipt for $87 same day and time. I told him to ask for a refund, as they'd obviously overcharged.
Show them the bank statement and tell them to get lost.

There's at least one black one here already, saw it in Parnell on D plates 2 weeks ago. Unofficial import at a guess.

There is a second hand specialist, Maurice Thompson?? I think motors, or The Italian Job I think does parts, or always on TM.

From what I've heard from a client, 280 km is normal for a tank. I thought 21km/100 was bad.Ok. You guys are going to love this figure ....
E60 M5 with the V10 motor.
Just finished my 1st tank of gas and have been "learning" how to drive it ...
70 liitre tank and I got 230km out of it =
30.4 litres per 100km
And it was worth every cent

Maybe I'll take it somewhere. To be honest, it doesn't seem that loud, doesn't distort, just cuts out like a cd does when it skips. Maybe I'm jst too used to the Lexus stereo and expecting too much.

We have a completely standard Bm stereo in our M325i, 88, NZ New. It has an amp to power the rear speakers, and two ways in the front, with the separate tweeters in the door pods.
Problem. Turn it up and when it gets loud, it cuts out, just for a second or so, then straight back in. Turn it down a notch or so, no problem. Any ideas?

From memory, $735 +GST from McMillans.

Looks stunning. He says Anthracite silver, but in those photos it looks the same as ours, Delphin Grey. Sure he has it right, so must be the photos.
-
Good point. Ours left a few drops on the floor each night and I think he mentioned it loses more in "hard" driving.

Frost plugs?

Yep, the red one. I'm sure it was on the club web site for sale, but checked and it was gone?? Beautiful condition, hard to believe the speedo (186kms?). Might be the inspiration to spend some money on ours.
-
It's ours Greg. We still have it and I would have come good on my promise to contact you if we were selling it, which is still a possibility, but on a time frame that suits us. Chances are, that or the convertible will have to go this year. Or maybe not. Good luck with the M3, saw one at the concours that was superb.

Bravo has a good point about people without sufficient knowledge and wof issues. Our completely standard '88 M325i was failed a wof for a front spoiler hanging too low (admittedley the girlfriend had clipped a couple of driveways and it was hanging maybe 15mm lower than norm). I pointed out that it wasn't structural/suspension/steering etc and he wouldn't let it go. Gave me a quote for $916 +GST to set the car right for that and various other items. Took it to Bellars MW, got everything done for $440 incl GST. Civic Auto in Parnell for the loss. I am 100% convinced this is because I let my partner take the car in.
I support the tyre rule by the way, low tread and wet = BANG!
I don't believe there will be mobile car crushers BTW, Helengrad would lose too many votes from her base.
-
I'm pretty sure they are the ones I have on my convertible (E30), which were originally off a M325i race car. No idea what drop they were, but they are firm and the chassis rail sits about 105mm off the road. Drop is different on a coupe apparently due to different ride heights, Will can probably clarify the diff. They work fine.

Nice buy. That's the one from Ohakune or thereabouts isn't it? Was wondering when someone would figure out what it was, even with a few issues, was a cheap car from memory. Congrats!
-
Go the Supra. Says stock 360hp, about right and smooth enough for a good fanging. $20k for a good one versus??? Hands up all on here who have the $$ for the M3. Don't knock a car because of it's origin.

There goes the neighbourhood.

That's pretty funny considering nearly every "successful" residential agent in Akld has an E36 or 318 E46. Should be a good upgrade for them.I disagree. It will be purchased by estate agents.

Yes, the same way your car looks like a 1903 Hupmobile. 4 wheels and a body. Otherwise, not at all.
Clipping?

Thanks Jochen, I'll try that.
