  1. You're probably wasting your time in regards to a credit check if they have no real assets, as you can't chase anything. Can you get a guarantee from parents/relatives/business associates? Have you had a look on the companies office to see if they have been involved in any previously failed or struck off companies? Increase the deposit, 6 months? Bank guarantee? Statement of position from accountant? There are plenty of ways to sort this without much bother.

  2. Would anyone be interested in a set of these? Def BBS, stamped CH004 on the rim. 19's (forgot to check width), with tyres. ET35. Have tyres with reasonable tread. Currently on an E36, but think you would want rolled guards. Part swap with standard coupe/E36 wheels possible. What are they worth?

  3. A well maintained 328i will do a sub 6sec 0-100, since when is that not performance car territory?

    Bollocks. A 3 litre M3 was tested at 5.4 to 60, not 62 and you're claiming a 328 is .5 of a second or less slower?

I say again, bollocks, as Andrew said, closer to 7 and there's a yawning gap between a sub 6 car and a 7 sec car.

  4. haha re the lexus, um why didn't you just not bother with the catalactic converter ?

Love to get rid of it, but that communist in Wellington is about to introduce emissions testing, remember?

Soarer? Doesn't make any difference, it's still a Lexus part and still a 1800% mark up on US retail.

    Any other bright ideas genius?

  5. Try a Bushranger Exhaust- Jack. Basically a blow up tub that starts out flat but blows up when contected to the exhaust. Bought it when car wheel fell thru rotten boards on a car pit. Have since used it on trailers, 4x4 trips etc. Great investment that folds up into a special bag.

Cheers, maybe that's better than the wood, as I've had a think and with a flat tyre, a piece of 4x2 ain't gonna cut it. The trouble I had Sunday was with properly inflated tyres.

  6. Strangely, I don't drive around with a piece of 4x2 in the boot on the off chance I need to use the jack. Plus, I only discovered the existing one won't work on Sunday and there was no wood handy, (luckily there was a garage lip to drive on, but I can't count on those either), so a decent solution is needed.

Scissor jack or Garys trolley if I can find one that small.

    Cheers.

  7. After hitting a rock on Sunday (see Wanted to buy), I decided to jack the car up and check for damage. Then I discovered that I can't actually get the jack (standard) under the car as it's lowered.

So the question is, what are other owners of lowered E30's using for a jack? I normally use the car for longish trips, so don't fancy being stuck in the middle of nowhere.

    Cheers.

  8. I had a quote for this sort of thing yesterday, for an E36 coupe. Strip bonnet, fix both bumpers, numerous parking rashes and dents, repaint boot etc etc. $2500 +GST. Whole respray $4k.

Also had a quote from Evans European for the M325i, $5k + for a complete respray.

Quality of work wise, I'd probably go with the first guy, as he does a lot of resto work and a lot of euro stuff.

    My 2 cents.
