  1. The power in the 735i is actually quite surprisingly powerful, similar to the 745i. It is very very powerful compared to the 520i I just purchased. Come drive both my E65's (735 & 735Li) and see for yourself the 735i still packs a serious punch, yeah it's small displacement. But don't forget, the 7 series & especially the engine is a highly tuned precision engineered german masterpiece.
  2. I've been driving it since I purchased it on Thursday. I do miss the smooth power delivery of my E65's when I drive this E39... But I purchased the E39 to be used as a comfortable, economical & still stylish daily driver. It is very very smooth though, I have found that love again that I used to have for the E39 (my very first car was an E39) Checkout my other post on my old E39 here: http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=35545
  3. It's in immaculate condition, not a mark on the interior or exterior. now have a BMW e65 735i, BMW E65 745Li & a black E39 2001 BMW 520i which will be used as a new company/daily car. Retiring the 735i as my daily driver, unsure what I will do with this one now. Checkout the pics.. I've purchased these alloys and will put them on next week: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=539477999
  4. Those are incredibly tacky, are you sure your in the right forum?
  5. Sweet ride brah. My first bimmer was a E39. Awesome car, timeless design & great engineering. I notice that the headlights are a bit hazed, could do a diy for you on how to restore them if you like. Easy to do & will have your headlights looking like new again
  6. Oh and the term 'iL' (for long wheel base) was long discontinued, the E38 was the last to use that. It is now 'Li' for long wheel base.
  7. Haha, you know what I mean. When I say F01 i'm just referring to that particular BMW iteration (in this case 7er model year 2009 - current ). Not particularly the model designation,
  8. Those are issues that happened with the early E65's that were all ironed out under warranty. Absolutely no 2002 E65 on the market today will have any of those issues. In fact BMW issued two recalls this month on the E65 BMW's relating to software-related issues, amazing service from BMW giving free repairs to cars that are long since out of warranty. BMW are excellent when taking care of their customers, especially those who purchase a brand new 7 series. The 735i I have had for two years now is a 2002, and it has been absolutely faultless. I've done over 100,000 Km's in it and it has never skipped a beat. It has every receipt since new, including the massive repair bills when it was new & under warranty (about $30k+ worth of receipts ). Those issues are far a thing of the past, if you find a E65 with any of those issues. I would recommend that you take a look at it's full service records to track wether it has had any of the service recall items attended to, otherwise I recommend contacting BMW and I guarantee you they would cover the cost of those repairs under good will. BMW are known for that!
  9. No issues with both my E65's one has 242,000 k's on the clock, had it for two years with absolutely no issues! The proof is in the pudding My dad has a F01 730d, so I've driven both vehicles and still prefer the E65 interior. I am actually getting a F01 next year when I move to Australia, importing a 750Li F01 from the UK although I am torn between getting a 7er & a Maserati. In Utopia I would have both But still keeping both of my E65's the 745Li & my daily driver 735i that I will recondition & take with me to Australia when I move to Melbourne. There are my two E65's I have at the moment. You wouldn't even be able to guess which one has 242,000 Km's. Such a reliable vehicle! 2 years of faultless service.
  10. Genuine AC Schnitzer 3er coupe, the only red one in the country apparently. Worth repairing or scrap it for parts? http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/wrecked-ca...n-525451952.htm
  11. I disagree, you wouldn't truly until you own a E65. They are a superb vehicle! I prefer the exterior on the F01 (facelift), but the interior on an E65 seems far more substantial. And I like the pre-facelift front end on the E65 and E65 facelift rear end.
  12. Yes they can feel a bit boring to drive and very floaty. But that's what a 7 series is designed to do, it's classed as a limousine. So it's all about transporting people in absolute comfort, dampening road noise etc. I like the floating feeling, it feels safe & almost like your gliding on water everytime. The power delivery is nice, the car is so smooth the sound of the engine although quiet, still sounds amazing. On both the e65 & F01.
  13. E39 & E38 BMW's are great cars, but you'll need to upgrade eventually dont you think? I had a E38 eariler this year for a brief 3 months... You might have seen me advertise it for sale on here, I had gotten it into an absolute state. Poor thing, absolutely abused the hell out of it. But it was such a smooth ride I must say, the overall quality of the E38 is very good such classic BMW luxury. But in saying that the E38 is centuries behind the E65 & F01, as is the E39.
  14. I'd buy the 7er because its kind of like owning a very nice suit, or a fine bottle of aged red wine. I love the engineering & thought with attention to detail that goes into these cars. It's fun when you buy one and over time during ownership you notice all the little details that give you a very pleasant surprise. Like the shades of gold in the wood grain or the welcoming chime as you enter the vehicle. Im such a big 5 & 7er fan, iDrive era though... Although I see you drive a e39. Those are a nice vehicle, my very first BMW was a e39 525i. Great machine, didn't think i'd ever get rid of it. owell.
  15. Loving the re-design of the headlamp assembly. Looks rather nice indeed! Thoughts on the mid-generation facelift?
  16. A 750Li is upwards of $130,00+ for a 2009 model. In the UK a comparable model with loads more options is $60K+ upwards. I meant I would only buy a low-end spec 7 I would buy here in NZ as a last resort if I wasnt able to purchase a 750Li in the UK as a 730D F01 here are about $59K+ But hey, it's a 7 series and the standard spec is already very high compared to any car/BMW. (have owned many 7ers). So I'm fine with a standard spec 7 series, not fussed about $ or re-sale value. I never buy a vehicle with resale value in mind as I usually upgrade within a year.
  17. So I'm looking at buying the current shape F01 7 series... A 750Li to be exact and have found several examples on ebay.co.uk that I am keen on. The price of them over there is about half the price of a used one here, I was just wondering how do I get it into the country? Do I have to live and own the vehicle in the UK before I can ship it over? (I probably won't do this lol). If it's not possible then I'm just going to get a low-end spec 730D F01 7 series... any help/suggestions needed! especially if you have experience in this area as I have none! Cheers
  18. Yep from $328k to $52K. Total bargain! I almost bought a 645 but just couldn't justify it over a sedan in terms of practicality... But I may give in next year! hmmm
  19. Hardout. I think i'm in love haha... I'm a true BMW fan, keeping it oem all day, every day. The wheels shown are original BMW alloys style 95's first featured on the 7 series 2002. They look amaze balls in motion
  20. Mine would be two cars: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-516390166.htm & http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-534121837.htm What's your christmas wish list?
  21. Just thought i'd share some pics, im bored. But have a set of these for sale, style 95's OEM BMW staggered fitment. In need of repair though! Kurb damage.
  22. Mmk if anyone wants to buy my old ones, they'll be for sale! lol
  23. Does anyone knows who's vehicle this is? Am after the wheels, but the auction has closed and no way of contacting the seller... I have a set of these of one of my e65's but they are HEAVILY curbed with paint peeling on the rear ones and look nasty, I'm just curious would it be cheaper to have my current ones refurbished or buying the set off of this guy... http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-...n-517855339.htm
