  4. Am after a set of these alloys. If anyone has these or knows where to get them, let me know! Factory style BMW e65/e66 7 series alloys (2002 - 2008)
  5. I recently purchased a e65 7 series that had a non functioning 6 disc cd changer. After doing some research this problem seems to happen on almost every e65 7 series, most owners out of warranty never bothered to fix it. I managed to find the simple problem behind the cause for the cd changer to fail. After removing the cd changer from my car and inspecting the cd changer mechanisms closely. I noticed that a lot of the lubrication on the internal parts of the CD changer had worn out and was dirty. So i cleaned it up and applied some spray lubircant. Reassembled everything and voila, a perfect working CD changer. I just saved myself an expensive $1k+ trip to the dealer to have this replaced. I also scored myself 6 new CD's stuck in their from the previous owner yipee. If anyone needs any guidance on how to go about this repair, let me know!
  6. Hi can do that as i am based out in South Auckland myself, get him in contact with me and arrange something. The door cards aren't in the greatest condition, could do with a good clean (as with anything beige). They are bare as pictured, leather inserts removed etc.
  7. Hi, no it is not leather. Its standard vinyl.
  8. All being dumped this weekend so be quick whoevers interested!!
  9. Sitting around the house bugging me, come take them away if they are of any use to you. bits like door cards, dashboard, interior lights available etc.
  10. I would buy all of them available just to save the poor souls of fine German automobiles from being brutally raped and then murdered by the ghastly cheapness and tackiness of these products!! hehe
  11. Ive read that in doing this you will damage the cars clear coat and paint. Over time the clear-coat will flake off and the paint will crack due to the extreme temperature changes that occurs when doing this. Any damage to your paintwork?
  12. the lip looks soooo gay why dont you buy an m5 kit?
  13. thanks, nice 540 you have. im hoping to get a black 540 to put this interior into... my e39 is silver and well the interior is nice, it would look much nicer in a black e39!
  14. I plan on getting the 'bmw individual' door sills hehe
  15. Yeah the black interior looked nice, just a bit too boring and executive for me. I was trialling the storage bin being beige on the drivers door, the first bin where the leather trim meets the beige bin, I think it looks very striking so i changed all the doors to the beige storage bin.
  16. My ultimate driving machine is near completion! Recently i acquired interior parts from a 96 e39. I got the following for $200, an absolute steal!!! - Beige leather interior seats - Beige leather door cards - center console with all the good bits like leather parking stick, wood trim, cigarette lighter etc - entire lower dash - original HIGH radio display + 6 disc cd stacker Then i fitted it all into my e39 to create the ultimate driving environment =) First i'll show you pictures of the completed interior then followed with the process which took two days. Me having to remove the parts from the donor car and then cleaning the filthy interior and installing it (the door cards were a PITA). The interior is my replica of the champagne M5 individual interior, a very clean looking luxurious interior. I also have my previous all black leather interior up for grabs if anyone is interested. Have the front and rear seats, beige door cards. Center console, entire lower dash and armrest etc. The hardest part was separating the leather trim from the door cards. The rear door card leather trim pieces are glued to card, the glue is a very tough glue that pretty much marries anything it touches. The leather trim is backed onto a piece of fiber wood and will most likely break in several places (i managed to get one trim in one piece without breaking the wood lol) This involved carefully prying up the leather from in several places. [ This is the back of the door card, we want to remove the metal piece and melt or cut off the 5 black plastic pieces that help secure the arm rest. I used a soldering iron to melt the plastic pieces off that also help hold the arm rest on, no need to redo these as the metal piece holds the arm just as well. grasp the handle firmly and pull up hard. remove the beige leather piece from the donor door card, no need to be careful with this one as its rubbish anyways! Card completed: Beautiful Now for the front door cards, these are much simpler as they are not glued on at all. Instead they are held on in the same way as the arm rest so its just a matter of melting the plastic pieces off and pulling it off. I have my black leather interior as a spare now and will be selling them on trademe if anyone is interested. I saved the black leather door inserts too and those will go along with the black leather seats. The only flaw in this project is that the e39 i got these from was a pre-facelift base model that supprisingly had no door airbags. My car has front door airbags and i will keep an eye out for any beige door cards with airbags to address this issue. Until then the beige remains in place lol.
  17. Not a fan of the clip on...why not get a proper kit? wheels are OK.
  18. They should have saved money and bought 34 300C chryslers :L
  19. Remove the door cards, have the window fully in the down position. It takes a bit of force to remove the chrome trim. Remove the trim from each clip, do not try pulling up anywhere on the trim other than where the clips are as you are likely to bend it (easy to bend back into shape though lol). Then a little jif and one area at a time apply medium to light pressure with a straight forwards and backwards motion, literaly takes only 5 minutes or less per trim. Wipe the trim as you go with a clean damp cloth to see the trim, continue with the jif until the desired 'brushed' effect is achieved.
  20. The chrome trim around the windows in my e39 look dull, the shine is almost all gone and its heavily stained and just looks really ugly. So today i took to it with a few household items and converted it to brushed aluminum! I would say this would look so much better if someone had aluminum trim instead of the wood trim which is what i have. These are what i used, very little jif required Before: After:
  21. I am selling my black leather interior as i want to upgrade to beige leather interior. This would be a good opportunity for someone who doesn't have black leather and wants black leather interior. The seats are in good condition over all, sale does not include door cards. The door cards are negotiable with a trade for beige leather seats. The seats are both heated with drivers memory function, the switches for the seat heating will be included. Make me an offer, sensible offers only. Welcome to contact me Toby on 0211066137, text or call.
