PS booster came up mint. Any idea what product they used?
-
Will this apply to WOFs also Glenn??
-
Hey Josh read this and hurry up you have untill 1st May. Looks like I'm screwed. E: It's possible this may not apply to pre 1990 euros so best check with your certifier!!
-
Ours is on the right where the 330 badge normally is. meh

There are a couple of solid rumours around that there are new rules regarding minimum tyre widths for wheel widths. I cant find any official documents on it so details are sketchy, but it seems that certifiers at least have been issued with tables for minimum tyre width for any given wheel sizing. They are NOT generous and include possible sizes of: 195 for a 7" 205 for a 7.5" 215 for a 8" 245 for a 10" etc. If you are in the middle of a project check with your certifier!!! What you're doing may not pass

Are there not 2 tests that can be done on batterys?? One a charge and one a current draw or something like that?? I've bought a battery once that initially tested fine, but wouldn't draw enough amps to start a car.

It's a good move to wait for the right spec car. In the meantime go drive some including the 330. Get a handle for what they're like, the 3lt is a cracker.

Condolences. Jokes, well done fella.

Daym thats a nice car. But I needed some thing under 10 years and for the mech insurance under 150000k. And who wants to pay for 20" tyres all the time?
-
I'm kinda liking the grandpa spec ha.
-
Yup. Never could really get along with the whole wage-slavery thing. And the whole building industry suck balls at the moment.

Right.. sorry to post and run chaps. Things go from chill to manic in 5sec flat round 'ere. Some specs 2001 540 NZ new 123000ks. Comfort seats, OBC, pointless telly thing, rain sensing wipers, intensive wash, Xenons, phone, no DSP, blah blah blah. Things to do: clear coat on dish is peeling and the body has a few minor scuffs and rear seat needs re-dyeing. Odd thing to drive. Kinda like sitting in front of the telly in a lazy boy ha. Simon...My daily, E46 stays, Nikkis daily work hack.

It either looks reasonably easy or you're making it look reasonably easy. Either way i love it.

I remember when 15" was big ha.

Introducing the new BMW X6. It's the answer to the question nobody asked. And the Hamann looks like every other kitted car around atm. Seems the designers think that the only way to do something new is to get more and more outlandish.

Thats true. I remember polishing a set of rims weekly back in the day Ha. BTW the random orbit needs to be really grunty to work = expensive. Stick with the drill and use those flapper wheels like in start of that link for doing wheel rims. Depending on how bad the surface corrosion is you can start with 2000 grit wet'n'dry.

As far as I'm aware the car enters 'sleep mode' after a period of inactiveness (is that a word??) regardless of whether it's locked or not. If somethimg is draining the battery it's because something isn't allowing it to enter 'sleep mode'. Of course this is guessing and I have no idea whether this is your problem or not, but I'm curious.... You had BMW check the battery but didn't have them scan the car for faults?

You can also use an electric (power not battery) drill or even a random orbit sander ect with the Autosol, Brasso, even cutting compound for paint. Either a cheap backing attachment and pad for the drill or there are Velcro backed pads you can buy for the random orbit. Dont ever use an angle grinder, they spin way too fast. Polishing ally, polishing paint even polishing plastic such as tail lights ect it's all the same process.

I've never found anything better than Autosol.
