no one, and i mean no one slows down (to the correct speed) at road works. having worked in the 'industry' (lol at myself) i can tell you stone chips are pretty much unavoidable. although i would slow down if your ever driving through road works on the coast (south island), my boss once threw a hammer thru someones windscreen.

hey. I'm about to do (or get done, still undecided) a manual conversion, and am probably going to put a short shifter in it at the same time. i was just wondering what one do you have, whats it like, and was any modification required to make it fit/work properly. cheers antony.

wrong offset (assumed cause they're for fwd) and only 5 1/2 inchs wide i prefer not to look at oversea's e30's a. it's just torture.

haha, i park next to nice/new cars becuase the owners will have insurance, and generally would take more care with opening/closing doors and trolleys.

i think it really depends on what you plan on using it for, and how you plan on driving it. i would get anything bigger than a 3 series, but thats just because it suits me. and im not a fan of big cars.
