yes, the track.... Shouldnt be speeding to begin with on the open road - however, i know full well that i do speed - its often not even deliberate - just cruising and the speedo creeps up...But there is a reason for having speed limits - some dumb asses cant even handle 100km/h without being aloud to go faster. Definitly!!! I love to drive in the country and go around corners! down this way there are some awsome roads that dont get much police attention. But "i dont speed on the road" haha honest!I have a talking uniden and ive had it for years, and i havnt been caught. i got done in my diesel for 134 coming home from work, but i didnt have my radar. and i deserved the ticket! but in my bmw (or my pulsar before that) I havnt been done - I just choose the time and the place... My 2c.

i tell you whats better and even more predictable - mini spool a.k.a LOCKED DIFF!!! man, my mates VL is insane with that.... so its going to be slammed on its ass and alpinas?
-
nice - have you got any more pictures of it? welcome aboard and do us a hearty skid!
-
very nice looking man, i hope you are very happy with it!! Hmmm LSD - maybe you'll be able to hold onto it better whist sideways on the taupo track! I just need to get manual styles - its a pain in the ass when it changes gear whilst in a opposite lock slide - on whatever surface you are on! On the topic or sideways - does it? I hope to see it at the mega meet at the start of feburary. :thumb:

AHHH I know the one you mean, yes they are hideous - they look like they have standard e30 doors (with the window frames etc) and almost a roof... i would not hit that!
-
6500 in my opinion is probably too cheap for a convertible E30 325 - everywhere else that i have seen them they go for a lot more - even those early 90s toyota celicas go for more than 10g, so for 6500 there are probably a few things that need a lot of work - like a soft top that needs replacing or the mechanisims that make it all work could be a bit tierd etc... and rust - a few people here have been stung by buying a car to find rust, i personally dont own an e30 and never have so ill leave the rust and where it hides to someone who knows what they are talking about. I would take that car for a VERY thorough pre-purchase inspection and then go over it personally with a fine tooth comb lifting carpets and the like... because if you buy cheap, it usually ends up costing a lot. Just my 2 cents, and as for guys in convertibles, i dont have an opinion, all I can say is that when i finally roll my e36 ill be glad that its hard top! and as shadow ninja said, we dont get enough nice weather to justifiy a convertable!

24 inch chrome spinners. and while your at it, gte "bling bling" or some sh*t across your window and some neons underneath and a GT wing mounted on your roof - just like that Nissan Avenir around here somewhere (and dont try telling me you aint seen it bro! it stands out a mile!) :puke: Seriously evan, you know my opinion - low with subtle white wheels. And a bloody good cut and polish job bro - you nearly got pink paint with that fade going on!
-
haha yeah, very 70s indeed - I got my older brother some for a joke last christmas for his 1974 Datsun 1200 - they suit the old school cars, not sure about hanging them in a 90s BMW tho...
-
for a WOF, if the vehicle has an indicator or a light fitted, it has to work. So for example, if you add a wing (WHY!!!) with a high stop light, but dont hook the light up, you will fail your WOF.IMO, wings are not the go. There are of course exceptions - like cars that actually need them, (like race cars etc) but honestly, adding a spoiler is just a bit of a waste - its not going to do anything for you!

ill take his tail lights....
-
thats about it too - somebody wants to do somthing and the government and government departments and local bodies and any group that can wreck someone elses sh*t by protesting gets involved just to bust your buzz... Damn, its change - let him do it! just make him build it big enough for a few (read heaps) of bimmers....
-
try Tau Net They have heaps of sh*t on there - they had an alpina e39 on there a while ago but it was pretty f**ked. I also saw an E46 SMG M3 on there a while ago - they wanted about 8g NZ for it (add on approx 2500 for importing costs) but like the Alpina it was ROOTED! (actually it was worse - there wasnt a single straight panel left on it.... They dont have too many bmws on there usually - I saw an E30 325i sedan that worked out to be $200NZ but add on $2500 (plus compliancing) and its expensive (this was just before they changed the rules....)
-
5 of them just were!! well thats a start i spose, but not like that a... This is the sort of sh*t that seems to only happen in america - its a shame the guy couldnt be taken alive - then they could have prolonged his death and made it hurt...
-
instead of the regular boy racers racing round in their evos and wrxs and civics etc?Yeah i really hope it happens - it would be awsome hearing the sound of the v8s echoed by all the tall buildings!!!
-
well what about the XR8s and SS/HSVs - they are pretty bloody loud to start with - aparently some of the XR8s came from the factory exceeding the 90dB limit... what about cars that have to have a large exhaust system? This guy probably drives a little Dihatsu Charade with an exhaust pipe no bigger than this: O I dont believe its fair, but if the government puts this bill thru, then I think every one affected (and its not just boy racers - what about the 4x4 nuts who get them modified and the like) should put the bill in to the government for the cost of putting it right. Or maybe they will make it like the import frontal impact laws - if it was done before a certain date then it cant be touched etc... Very unfair anyway...
-
or you could just drop a lexus quad cam V8 into it - Theres one in last months NZ perfomace car magazine. Thinking seriously, that would be BAD!!! if and when I blow my 325s motor Im going to do that... Actually, I should do that to my Hilux as well....
-
were thinking of, but didnt... hehe joking man! IMHO I think that for 6 g you can get better than the car your looking at - If it has rust in 3 doors, where else is it silently rusting away... And 245000kms is pretty high - ive seen these a lot cheaper with a lot less ks on them. My advice would be to keep looking - there will be something a lot better somewhere for about the same $$$ - take your time and find a good one - you'll more than likely end up regretting it if you dont...

happy birthday dude.

bro, I got a Rangi car - my Diseaseal is the rangiest car i know of (that was legal - its wof just run out and needs a new windscreen to get a new one) and you are damn right - i was having a great laugh every time I drove it! Ive got a Hilux now, but it aint gunna become rangi! Im gunna make it mean. (white tarmac Evos and boned etc...) Anyway, heres the rangi-meister...
-
thats very nice looking - i bet he got the idea for that off top gear. I was planning on going to the drifting instead of auto salon this weekend - didnt do either - had a really expensive week - Ive got my BMW fixed and i bought a Hilux. (bit off topic I know, but I havnt gotten round to taking photos yet, so not worth starting a new thread... next weekend perhaps?)

I heard that on the rock about 3 - 4 weeks ago - thats really out of it, i thought the rock was just taking the piss, but apparently not?
-

The diesels are really shitty engines - they constantly run their big ends and they are just about not worth having... As for conversions, from experience, it is easier to start with a petrol one (they are around - just hard to come by) because we had to swap the fuel tanks (petrol ones need baffles etc in the tank) and fuel lines over to complete the conversion. Fortunatly we had the cefiro (to be the ute) to take the fuel tank an lines out of... All in all, it was a lot harder than it needed to be... As for $800, my mate got his for $200 - complete vehicle - just had a run big end....
