thats just brilliant! a mate of mine swore by having his sub facing forwad - one day i grabbed his keys, went out to his car and turned it around. He has never gone back.
-
man thats the hardest way to put an engine in - however its the easiest way to get the engine out...
-
who needs traction control? Id have it turned off the whole time!!! Its more fun going sideways and bringing it back under control yourself rather than just letting the traction control control it!Very nice M5 by the way man!
-
haha thats gross.... but some people will buy anything with a BMW badge on it.... so I suppose there would be a bit of a market for it....
-
Except of course if you buy the car already modified - and buy a warranty yourself - like if it came with a bigger exhaust and a set of 17s and what not, if you buy a warranty with the car already done, then those cars are covered... But I find, that what they dont know wont hurt them!!!
-
good sh*t - who care what sort of car shes posing on... I wasnt paying much attention to the car - who would??? Tim, thats an awsome picture!!!
-
does your 5 have that much bodyroll??? BOT: nice one making the front page - done that a few times lately, but nothing I would want to own up too..... I have a funny feeling that he will get a driving charge out of it - probably careless use of a motorvehicle.
-
best thing you could say, i might have one for ya I actually think he was taking a dig at me - you see, the other week he was saying that he was selling his rare bmw touring for a run of the mill vtec boggers DA... I just gave him a bit of grief - if he wanted to have big mags, do it on the touring!!!
-
and which orifice would you like to extract the money from son? haha I know - tick tick tick!!!! :mosh:Seriously, dont sell it man - its as rare as hens teeth!!! Keep it, mod it, love it.... Simple? Simple!
-
wow - thats a beatin administered... How the heck did he get out of that un harmed? If he does a buy back (assuming it was insured) Im sure he would have no trouble selling parts to make his money back. (leather, manual, 325...)

haha I think its one of those cars that you have to drive like you stole it!! I have one - its great - owning a rear wheel drive toyota wagon that looks like it shouldnt be on the road, and being able to bash thru this river on the road into the hotsprings... I could never do it in my BMW - even before I lowered it... I guess you need to own one to appreciate it... Anyway, I do know the kind of people you mean, and they are irritating... out of control... Seriously, I thought that BMW had some sort of mind -> Indicator telepathic interface?
-
how on earth can you see his what his steering wheel is?? Man, thats out of it!!! I can only see a big round thing!!! Im with everyone else on this evan, cut n polish, lowered with some 17s... be the fruit son! :mosh:

yeah its a rangi drifter at the moment - but just wait until its complete!! it will be the sh*t - we started prep work for the paint job last night - such a boring ass job... mmm spots off the roof.... It will be up in auckland sometime soon to get the wiring completed and dyno tuned (that sort of $$ tied up in the engine he would be stupid to just get it bunged together...) So when we come to pick it up, Ill let you know - it'll have to be run in first, but jason wants to do 2000km in it in the first week - and since he hasnt got a license at the moment (incident with a big curb and his mums AUIII XR8) I will get alot of the honours - I can put 1000 on it just by driving to and from work for a week!
-
I agree - eagle boys was the sh*t!EDIT: Ill actually remember to add my quote this time... haha this ones brilliant - come across sounding really stoned... The sadest part is, we did that when I was last in Wellington - except I wasnt playing!! Rang this place, me: "hey, are you guys open?" pizza guy: "yeah" me: "sweet, we'll be there soon then man" pizza guy: "do you want to order somthing first?" me: "ah.... yeah... ah (talking to mate) what do you want man?... ah we'll call you back ok man?..." Haha its funny to hear their reactions....
-
yeah its just piddley 2.5 inch... I think it needs more, but Jason seems happy... I think he should at least match the exhaust - Thats a 3 inch straight pipe... I think that he should use that for his intercooler piping a!!Ahh... A31, I might have to look into that - do you have a contact number for them? The RB20DE will make it easier for a turbo conversion - means I dont have to change the loom.
-
f**k Me!You could build an S50B32 Turbo dropping 500hp for that! Is that figure correct? Why the hell was an RB26 bored to 2.8 not considered for that sort of coin? Yip thats the right figure - the guy who did it was building it for his R32. I dont know why he chose the RB25, maybe it has somthing to do with the RB26DETT has the places for front CVs to attach to (they got somthing different about them anyway...) Im not sure. Maybe it was an availablity thing at the time?the previous owner has had it for about 5 years... And he has had his share of issues with it - blow a factory item because something else he had replaced was putting too much strain on the other factory equipment... All I know is that its going to be one INSANE engine!!!
-
and finally the left hand side... We got a lot of work to go, the prep work is about to begin tonight... Oh boy, i cant wait!!!
-
this is the external and the turbo - we're not actually too sure how big the turbo is, its been hybrid'd
-
front shot - massive front mount intercooler a!

Hey, finally got around to taking pictures of my mates drift laurel today - We cut the factory springs because it was too high (it doesnt matter though it will never be on the road on them - getting coilovers put in it before it goes for certing!) People were laughing at how high it was, so we layed into it with the 9 inch cutting discs... and got it to sit about 50mm off the ground or so.... heres a few pics of it - the details are: RB25DET conversion - he has $37,000 worth of engine receipts (things like heat treated bottom end, lightened flywheel, after market cams, ported, polished, bored out to 2600cc and the list goes on there...) Monster garette turbo 45mm external waste gate Skyline rear subframe/diff/running gear S15 front hubs CUT SPRINGS!!! D1 spec bodykit (need to get the Laurel front bumper - cefiro one doesnt fit) and the list goes on - its been a hard conversion because we had to change the fuel tank and fuel lines, because this laurel was originally a diesel! I think it looks awsome on the standard R32 Skyline wheels - just somthing about them on a laurel... We have a lot more work to go on it - have to put a lot of work into getting the engine finished - because it hasnt been started since the engine work was done, it needs to have everything put back in. Its going to be one mean drift machine when it finally gets on the road!!! (it will be that new BA falcon Blood Orange)
-
yeah, thats a sign of not being wasted enough!!!!Hope it was a good night man...
-
thats alright - its only his insurance, if he had to pay for it its a different story, however with insurance, get it done properly!! Even if it means paying top dollar... I mean, thats what you pay the premiums each year for isnt it?I dont think that price was too bad considering that they have used new parts and not just second hand ones (like most repairers seem to use...) So whens the beast making its return? still on track for monday? thats quite a quick repair!
-
nope just older, thats all. and unfortunatly, that makes a big difference when it comes to dealing with the automotive industry - if your a woman or a young person, they'll give you outrageous prices, if however you are a balding middle aged man, they usually give fair and reasonable prices... (sorry if i have offended anyone, but i got a quote for parts, then dad went in (middle aged, bald) and got a quote for the same parts for a considerably lower sum...)
