  1. huh?? sedan or manual? Im lost! Im going to be the same when my bmw is back on the road - glass case, not driven! Nah, I wouldnt be able to help myself!!
  2. yeah, I had a similar experience - have you got a mechanical warranty? that sh*t gets EXPENSIVE!!! I was driving at (not going to say actual speed - going fooking hard at any rate) when there was a big bang... My lights dimmed, I lost power steering and the car started to pull left. hard. By the time I came to a stop, it was overheating... I didnt know what i had done, but i was shitting myself! What had happened was that one of my fan belt idlers had let go, and everything it hit on its way out, it f**ked... So that was my alternator, radiator, powersteering was hurt in someway, and there were a few other things... It cost my warranty company about 2g, and me $200 (new antifreeze and the 2 belts i had to replace - gotta love the no excess warranties a!!). I got it back on a friday afternoon, then the following day my mates and I booked out the little circuit track near hastings for a bit of a thrashing... I was out there in my first lap when all of a sudden BANG! i thought it had dropped the idler again, but when I came in I had blown the fan apart - it hadnt been put back on properly when they repaired the rest... So i took my car to my regular mechanic (who hadnt done the first repair - they were closed when I tried getting hold of them initally). They took it apart, and told me that the "viscous fan" hadnt been torsioned properly (or somthing like that) and that had caused it to blow. A new fan (warranty paying, Ill take brand new genuine parts please!!) cost $800 and was about $300 to install - i paid for nothing!!! Moral... Got a mechanical warranty? You might want one man!!!
  3. happy birthday man, have a great day, and I hope you are going to follow thru with universal tradition and do THE YARDY!!!! that sh*t is great!! Let us know how you do.... If you survive!
  4. I knew that it was your parents car - I drive my parnets cars all the time (pus bloody diesels), so i figured you would be able to get "access" to the car whenever....330s are bloody awsome a!
  5. Im pretty sure the E36s are in the back window... I dont use my stereo for getting radio stations anyway - Id rather chuck an mp3 disc in, put it on random and not have to hear the same sh*t 4 times in a 3 hour trip....
  6. haha it just means its "ready to go" whenever!!!Seriously, I think that the E36 overcame this problem rather nicely - by removing the aerial totally!!!
  7. thats quite random tim.... haha police 10-7 is on too late for me, but Motorway Patrol is on at the right time!! That was pretty funny last week how that beat up old mitsi sigma did the runners and lost the cops!!!

    Ferrari F430

I like the look of it, its just a shame ill never be able to afford one....
  9. is that where you hand over their license when you get pulled up for speeding? Or are we talking speed camera fines you get in a car registered to them?Got any more pics of the car? It looks pretty sweet.
  10. looked like a great day! If my 325 was on the road, I would have bowled up, but i somehow dont think it would have lookied right if I had been there in a diseaseale (diesel ) wagon... Although, you all have to admit it would have kaned ass.... (because people would have been trying to get out of the way!!!) It looks like there were some nice cars there - that M5!!! damn, nice!!!
  11. do it up!! Thats a sweet looking 5 man! And as grant said, I think you have an addiction!! But thats not a bad thing!!
  12. I was going to do that, but Im doin a bodykit since I wrecked it.... It wont need the sides painted silver as they will be covered by the new sideskirts... (which will be silver)

    bmwcc

Evan, there are BMWCC stickers on the back of both Tims and my 325s.... Im sure you asked about them that night I took your car for a skid.... JOIN UP!!! its worth it just for the Driver training and stuff that they do!!!
  14. cheers guys, but im holding out for the A31 or the C33 - They slide hard!!! and I have lots of parts for the A31 and can get lots of parts for the C33 - I want to biff an RB25DET in and work the tits out of it! Sam, Silvia sounds good, how well does it go sideways? Im really after a 4 door sedan - get the boys in the back on a trip to the drifting and sh*t you know!! Evan, bro dont be stupid!! your touring does slide, but having said that, so does my wagon... (which was nearly down the side of a huge drop on monday morning following a blow out at a fair speed - going sideways! - spun me right round and how i didnt go over the edge!!) Cam, I like AE86s, but the same reason for yours as with sams - I want big drifter!! I want Nissan, because they are easy to work on and the RB25DET (or maybe RB20DET to start with) bolts straight in and is easy to work with! cheers guys!
  15. M.I.L.F anyone? yeah man, ill take one of those!!!
  16. Yeah I love it!!That snow flake is exactly as you said - it also changes gear before it redlines.... In my 325 it gets to about 4500 - 5000rpm then changes gear etc... I didnt even need it when I was playing in the snow - I was on this windy as road in sport mode GOING HARD!!! lots of fun!!! As for the other switch, I dont think my 325 had it... But its definitly not hazard lights as someone said - that switch should be down just behind the transmission lever....
  17. Love it!!! I want to get one for the sole purpose of mud bashing!!! Question, does it do helis??? You know, round and round with 1 front wheel on the spot and the rest spinning around it Dads Bighorn does - but dont tell him that!!! !
  18. Hey guys, I know this isnt a BMW thing wanted, but I thought some one may know somthing... I need either an A31 Cefiro RWD C33 Laurel or similar Basically, i want a rolling body, that is still in the system (rego hold is fine) I would like it to be running, but have a RB20 lying around so i can get it going if need be. Minor panel damage is sweet - I have a shell at my mates place, so anything considered. Im holding out for the Cefiro because of the body parts I have access to, but I will happily take a laurel - the big gangster L on the bonnet etc... Whatever is availible, it needs to be petrol, as converting a diesel is too much work (ie fuel lines and fuel tank and ECU and loom etc) I want to spend up to about a grand for a decent body. As was said, the engine wont be in it for long, Ill be using it as a hack until my BMW is back on the road and then doing an RB25DET conversion and setting it up to compete in the drifting.... either post what youve found or pm me. Ill be away from the computer all week, so you can also get me on 021 423 947 after 3pm mon - fri Thanks heaps for any help...
  19. there are so many like that, like W.I.F.E.... need that one broken down? Dave, can I take a few of those "chill" pills..... mmmmmmmm Mellow out.... :mosh:
  20. when did it happen? like is a recent thing or did it happen a while ago?
  21. dont even know if ive saved it as the right sort of file... EDIT: nope... Ill try this one....
  22. id hit that!!!Seriously, they did awsome last night - smiling all the way.... Damn, awsome effort there!! :thumb: :thumb:
  23. wow.... thats pretty nutty!!! How many safety stars did it get? Not sure, but it dont come down to how many safety stars it got, it comes down to how fast was the driver going and what the hell did (s)he do wrong!!!

    Scum

i thought that they were rather comfortable myself.... (e36s - never tried sleeping in an e30) Ive slept in every one of my cars and found that the E36 was the best of the lot - except my ute when you put a matress on the back...Back on the topic - I dont think there is anything you can do, unless they actually come and do it. Otherwise you get all paranoid and worked up over a "what if" - the same applies to going out driving! "what if some idiot runs a red light and hits me..." you know what i mean? cant do anything about it, so its a risk you have to take. I think the only things you can do is make sure its alarmed and that you dont leave it in places that make it easier for the scum to do their thing.... (like never leave it out on a dark street that doesnt have much use at night - thats asking for trouble!)
  25. it does look good - they were on trademe a? I was thinking about doing it, but never got off my ass to do it - i think they look good, maybe ill try find some!
