There's a dead give-away in the background Nice car Dylan, I was lucky enough to be taken for a spin a week or so ago. Very impressive. I think you need to track down the owner of Gerry Hodges old yellow M Coupe and buy those super hot staggered schnitzer rims off him.

That's quite hot. Tempting as a daily driver.
-
Nice photo, a lot of photoshop involved there though, so not just the 'new camera' right?

I had some chips repaired by Smith and Smith's main Penrose, Auckland branch and the results were terrible. I've since used a chap from Novus and the results were almost flawless.

are the e30 coupe and e30 sedan bonnets the same?
Hi-Tek replied to E30AFFIAR's topic in General Discussion
As said, all bonnets are the same across the the E30 range. It's the only body panel the E30 M3 shares with 'normal' E30s *typo -
That dude needs to do his homework.
-
Thanks Doug and same to you. I'll own another one one day, buying a house with my partner so the car has to go for now

Hi Brent, yes I think I would mate. I'll let the auction run and see if I can sell the rims and tyres as one as this will be easier and less hassel for me.

Hi guys, Selling my spare rims. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-256990908.htm 2 x BBS RS 061 , 16x8" Et 20 2 x BBS RS 022 , 16x9" Et 24 Stud pattern is 5x120 4x Toyo Proxes R888 , 225/45ZR16 with only a few laps in the pouring rain at Taupo race track (so virtually no wear on the tyres) The rims have 4 x brand new BBS centre caps, part number 09.23.221 that I imported from the U.K The rims are straight with no curbing, they could certainly do with a repaint though, more photos available on request. Only selling these as my car is for sale also (1989 BMW E30 M3 Left hand drive) The rims can be view in either Ponsonby or Henderson, Auckland. Call to view 021-535-955.

I'm not a fan of the E28 or E34. I love the E60 M5 but the E39 is porno too
-
I hope you're not serious Chris? For $25,000 I'd be letting that go in a heartbeat.
-
Very nice, no surprises on it having BBS LMs too
-
Hi Dave and welcome. You're also on s14.net aren't you mate?

Just had this response from an acquaintance of mine from an E30 M3 board (he owns an E30 M3) He's talking about the two GT-Rs that I have linked in previous posts (the ones we went down to test drive)

Does anyone know what the best official laptimes the Open class cars have done around Pukekohe and Taupo?

Just trying to figure out which would make the fastest track car if equal amounts were spent. The S54 conversion would certainly be a lot more of a project, and would it end up being quicker than the GT-R I have my doubts. Buying E30 M3 Buying S54 Engine Stand alone ECU (Motec, Auctronic) Fitting the Engine, gearbox, fabrication etc etc Rollcage, seats, Brakes Suspension With the GT-R we would be basically buying a slightly modified car 450HP at the wheels (we'd never see that with the S54 not even close). Rollcage, seats, harnesses Brakes Suspension. We had allowed for an initial outlay of $30,000 (not really factoring in brakes or suspension) I think that's achievable with the GT-R but not even anywhere close with the S54. We could sell the S14 that we would pull out of the E30 M3 to make back some $$$$ though.
-
Ohh woe is me, Now were looking at going down the path of putting an S54 engine (E46 M3) into an E30 M3. Still very keen on an Nissan R32 GTR but taking our time and trying to figure out which would make the quickest overall track car for realitive money spent.

He's chucked up some photos of the car. Not too shabby apart from a few bling bling bits.
-
I was all booked in for tomorrow, but have canceled. Brent, that Playday on track sold out over 2 months ago. (it was $150 for the day)
-
Cheers Cam, I've read the brakes on the R32 GTR are sh*t even with stock Horsepower. We'll certainly be after some semis or full slicks too As for trailer, not yet I'm afraid, I can get a hirepool trailer for $40 per day which is pretty cheap I think, considering we'll probably only get the car on the track once a month.

I've been out and had a chat to Racefx about cages. Roughtly $3,300 for steel or approximately $6,000 for chromolly cage (front turret bracing etc) We can certainly do without intercom amp, headsets, touring headsets etc for quite some time. Fire extinguisher is a must, I have one with a bracket with would be a good start. Well aware that neither of those cars are road legal. The grey 'road' car has all the dereg papers so certainly has the potential of being SIV'd one day. We were looking at some Sparco seats and sabelt harnesses.

We flew down from Auckland to Christchurch on Wednesday and drove two R32 GTR Skylines. One was single turbo http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=250277525 The other car a race car was twin. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=250734035 We're pretty sold on the GTR thing now I think We just need to figure out which route to take. Do we want to buy something that is ready to go or do we want a bit of a project with the $10,000 we'd have if we purchased the road car over the race car. I think we could certainly have a nice roll cage, 2 x seats and 2 x harnesses for $10,000.
