  1. I always thought a slightly worked m30 with a turbo would be awsome...probably to much trouble tho and not sure about gearbox either.
  2. I thought it was cool anyway and I'd probably do it again but not with twink lol now I just need another bike... :-D
  3. haha I did that to my zxr250 once (sportsbike) exept I was in high school and since I used to cross stuff out rather than use the twink...I had to use it on something! lasted ages to lol the picture shows it about half a year after it was done so...lasted well
  4. yeah I would be keen on making them, I'm just not sure where I can find one to start with. Had a look around bimmersport and trademe and nothing yet aye. I might look into getting one from overseas or something. I'm pretty keen on doing these. As for the rest of the kits: Mtech I: I'm supposed to be meeting up with a guy from this forum tomorow, who might be willing to let me use his to take a mould (front and back only). See how that goes. Mtech II: will wait for beginning of nov to get in touch with Antony Thats about it for now, also got some PMs with a couple of posible jobs Thanks for the support guys Andrei
  5. I could make them out of woven fibreglass cloth but there is really no point, doesn't really make them stronger or anything. On the repair side of things I actually prefer CSM as its easyer to spread and stuff....but thats me. All the boats and most fibreglass things are made of CSM. But whatever the customer wants in their own one I suppose. If I can get my hands on one, i would be more than happy to do it aye might be just about worth it to buy one probably one like this I imagine http://e30.bmwdiy.info/lip-spoiler/lip-spoiler-06.jpg Andrei
  6. well, making unique custom ones would be something short of an art, and you have to make an original plug. I'm no woodworker, and only thing I could have a go at is foam. I could give it a go, but knowing how hard it can be, I'm not to optimistic at this stage..I hanvn't got enough experience and i realise that. I could maybe try and make one for myself and see how that goes, but on the other hand I'm thinking of changing cars sometimes in the future, because the 525i is not exactley my dream car... I could be interested in custom work, but not exactly starting from scrach if posible. I do think there is a market for msport kits, not sure how big, but there is one. the detail is all taken up by the gelcoat. As for keeping them staight...will take measurments of the mounting points on the car, and using wood, mount the bumper on a jig so that the mounting holes are at the same distances, so therefore the body should be straight. When the mould is layed up, I will incorporate wood in it to make it more rigid, so the units don't come out bent out of the mould. I will make them the best way i know how: using gelcoat, and at least 2 layers of 450g/m2 of chopped strand matt and polyester resin, with the mounting points and areas that are more voulnarable to damaged even thicker. That would be my standard, but whatever way the customer wants it. Not sure what AGM is lol So if everything goes to plan, I will probably be starting to make a mould in early november... Once again, cheers Antony, you're a good guy Andrei
  7. mint :-D When...whenever you can mate, and how long...definatley no longer than a week. If i would pick them up onn one weekend, I'll bring them back the next. If this is to long, might be able to do it even quicker, i would just have to work very quickly. I have no problem driving to either Dunedin or Greymouth. You're a legend dude Andrei
  8. mate, I would be soooo thankfull. Seriously I thought that the biggest problem would be to find kits to take a mould of. I feel the same way about BMW's, need to have some nice looking ones around. There was one at the Autosalon in Chc this year...and not even close to my taste really. I wana make some pocket money, being a student, and help out people with the same interests as me :-) I will make sure to keep the price as good as I can. I will PM you shortly I knew there were going to be people who would think this way, and I completly understand you. I just want to make those kits more availabe for people, its not like every e30 out there will get one anyway. As for the side panels, will see what I can do :-) Thanks for the support guys Andrei
  9. ok, so what other cars would you guys like to see kits for? as in buy one at a good price lol
  10. thanks for the info mate. gues i would have to have a mould for both f/l and pre f/l. The only other cars I can think of that it would be worth making them other than the e30 for is e36 (there's lots of them). Doing it for the e46 would be pointless i reccon, mostly because there aren't that many around, most of them 318i that owners don't wana spend money on. I realised so far in life that sometimes its the rich people that are not willing to fork out money unless they have to, suppose thats why they got it lol jokes E34 and E39 might be an idea, but it would be hard to find a kit to make a mould of, and there's not that many around. And kits for jap cars are everywhere, besides I am a BMW nut :-D I will have a look around, try and sort something out, as I am pretty keen Andrei
  11. ok, so it looks like I'm getting some decent feedback. Next thing for me would be to source a bodykit to take a mould of. I'll have a look around maybe someone would be willing to let me borow theirs (for some money acourse), failing that i would have to buy one first and i can sell that one later as well... and yes, I could modify a factory kit to suit your particular needs, will cost a bit extra tho :-) now, I'm not as familiar with E30's as i am with e34, and others. Will have to do a bit of research into what they came out with, the facelift model diferences...I will have a look see what I can find. If anyone could maybe give me a link to a good website for this, it would be much appreciated Will keep you guys up to date with my progress Andrei
  12. hey, I work in a fibreglass repair shop and have been doing some stuff at home as well like sub box, speaker spacers, soon doing some motorbike fairings and other repair jobs. Do some carparts like bodykits at work. I'm pretty keen on making stuff around the home and I was wondering if it would be worth having a look into making BMW kits for you guys (or other random parts you might want). Surely it would work out cheaper if i make them than to import them or something...I donno just a thought. If I was to make a mould (so I can start making them) i would need one to take a copy of first...after that its all go. So let me know if there is any interest Andrei
  13. If i can find someone to let me borrow theirs (maybe before its painted or something, so i don't have to be dead scared that I might scrach it). It might even be worth it investing in buying one aye bimmersport members will get a discount to ;-) lol See how much interest I get on this forum

    E34 530i

re1st post. if you feel that your gearbox is not very smooth get your oil changed asap. When I didn't bother doing that to much in my 525i e34 it ended up with an expensive fix. And don't put any aditives in your oil, waste of money and time. save that money and put good oil in the car :-D
  16. nice work man. If you were in christchurch i might have attempted to make your fibereglass parts :-). Oh well
  17. well, depends. Kits: Schnitzer, Wheels: Hamann and Alpina (some Mteck onse are nice to). Engine and stiff: Dinan and Hartge
  18. hey just thought i'd let you know whats happening. As expected bands are kinda buggered lol 1700 to fix or 3300 to rebuil. So its clear, I'm getting a second hand box. Since I'm not in a hurry I'll look around for a couple of days and get one. BTW does anyone know the name (eg the name of my engine is B25M50) of the gearbox
  19. hey, I'm in need of a auto gearbox for my 92 525i. So far I have an offer from Brent for $600 which is a pretty good price. Since I'm not in a hurry I thought I would give other people a chace to. So if you have a auto gearbox for the above car for sale, leave a message and a price (and where you are from so i can figure out shipping) Cheers guys Andrei
  20. i seriously have my doubts. My guess is that the computer does the same thing, exept bridging happens internally. Have a look around other websites and you will see that is what everyone does. Just triple check that you are connecting the right pins!!!
  21. hey I have also got an e34 and have done it. All you do is short out 2 pins (pin 19 and pin 7) on the plug(will attach picture) with the key out of the ignition. After the wire is in place, turn the ignition to on, wait 3-5 seconds, and turn the key back to of. remove the wire and next time you start the car/turn the key to on its filled back up. For a Service i or Service II its the same procedure exept you have to wait about 10 seconds insted of 5. You might not get it the first time because of the time you left the ker in the on position, (to much or to little) and you might have to try a couple of times. the plug is in the engine bay, on the left hand side when facing the front, closer to the firewall, and its got a screw top on it...(from memory) good luck
  22. just thought i would keep you guys up to date. Turns out it's not fixable without taking the gbox off. They looked in the filter....and there were bits that just arnt supposed to be in there lol. The guy was thinking it might be in the bands...andyway they are taking it off and getting back to me today. Depending on how much they want to fix it i might be looking for another slushbox. I'll keep u posted
  23. hey, took it to aceomatic today and will have it in to get it checked on wed. guy said there are a few things that could be wrong...but not exactly 100% until they do a check on it. He also said that he is positive that it can be fixed without taking the trany out...and the general cost will be around $600-800. so yeah...sounds alright to me. I;ll let you know what happens
  24. cheers mate, I will keep that in mind if its so ugly that i ever have to swap the box... Andrei
  25. hey guys I got a bit of a problem with my 92 525i. While in E mode it doesn't want to go into 2nd, just jumps straight to 3rd. If its in snow mode it will go into second and no lower (like its supposed to), once the car is warmed up. I have took it to a place and the guy told me what he thinks is wrong with it (couldn't really understand as it was over the phone), and that it would cost about 600-800 to fix, as it doesn't involve taking the gearbox off. Can anyone inform me a bit better on what's happening/anything else usefull.... cheers guys Andrei
