Idle does surge under slight acceleration, anything under about 1800 revs or so? Not a jap import so that cant be the common denominator? I'll have a chat to bmw about the DME programming thisafternoon and see what anyone comes up with.Cheers, good to know it myt not be quite as serious as i keep thinking it is! Ever since I bought my car there has been a small problem- in neutral the car idles perfectly, but when it is either stationary or at very low revs in drive or reverse, the idle surges and causes intermittent shuddering. My car is a 316i E36, M40 engine. Obviously Auto. Does anyone has any suggestions as to cause and/or solution? Oh yes~ and where is the transmission oil filler?? Been wondering on this one for a while.. Cheers guys!

Natthaaan and Grahhaaam~ where to send this guy? Russell is kinda cool in a touristy way, if you go up past Long beach or whatever it's called. Mad veiws of the bay. Kawakawa toilets? The town is uber-scummy, but the bathrooms are kind of cool. If your into that sort of thing.. You gotta beach it though, as your keen on heading way up north anyway, you might as well stop off at some of the really nice beaches, Tauranga Bay, Taupo Bay and Matauri Bay. All pretty nice. The Monganui Fish and Chip place is pretty iconic of northland too so if your hungry, like actually, apparently servings arnt that small.. you have to stop there. Hmmmm. Like Cain said, Tane Mahuta if you want to see a freakn big tree, teh Stone Store in Keri, our yachts sometimes moored just off there, and theres a quite nice restaurant just over the road too so its not too bad at all. Kemp house is next door. old collonial style place etc. But yea thats a few places. Good old northland.. hive of activity and all that.. Other suggestions Bay people?

Ok so heres the deal, My e36 Compacts front brakes have been getting madly hot for the last few days, and even got to the point of smoking on saterday. They seem to be locking on to some degree, not to the extent of bieng stuck on at full brake, but enough to hold the car back a bit. On closer inspection, i.e. wheel off etc, we can't see anything blatantly obvious, other than perhaps the disks need working as theres a slight rim around the outside. Theres been a lot of brake dust on the wheels and skirts since the problem started and it smells quite bad sometimes. So before I rush off and spend several hundred on labour and parts can anyone shine some light? Maybe someone out there has had similar problems or has suggestions as to what could be causing this? Its under warrant at JC, and is insured so anything big will be covered but I dont want to claim agianst either yet. Cheeeeeers!
