Another before and after: And the borbets before they got a proper polish So far I've also bought a rear disc set up as this currently has hubs, and an m40b18 which I'm planning on whacking whatever turbo I find first onto the side of... Will probably get the new old trailing arms and discs fitted on Friday night. May do the rear subframe too if the bushes look shot. So rest of the list so far is Manual box Lsd Exhaust E36 rack conversion (standard one is leaking like a sieve) Turbo set up Bigger, better tires. Dumb dents fixed. Sold my big toys to buy a house but got bored and then got offered this for $400 from my little brothers mate who was going into the army. It's a 1990 316i automatic and is as poverty spec as possible; wind up windows, clock in the dash etc, but I'm in love with it. When I got it, it looked like this: I scored a set of superlows so they went in, and then with some unbelievably good luck, spied a set of 4x100 rims in a mates garage that had been plasticoated black and were almost unrecognisable. Apparently his old mx5 shell came with them as spares..Got them for a couple hundred thinking they'd be better than hubcaps until I found something better. Took them home, discovered that they're actually borbet type a's, peeled the plasticoat off and found that they were basically brand new - nice. They're also the perfect offset. Also painted the grills black, chucked some roof racks on and taped my full beams for shits and giggles. It now looks like this: More to come Sent from my D6653 using Tapatalk

Pretty sure the problem with those is that they don't have a flat lip that can be machined and drilled but could be wrong. The ones on that car were done by Jakob musk who's a polish drifter. This was his tow car. They were 19x9.5 and 19x12 from memory and 15" inside. Lips and dish's are on ebay. Sent from my D6653 using Tapatalk

Steelies are sold. Full set of 5x120 e38 Style 15 wheels with near new tires. They're a bit dirty from being in the garage but come up very tidy with a quick clean. All centre caps etc. Looking for $200 for the set. Located in Masterton but happy to deliver up to an hour away.

Thinking about selling/swapping my 750iL for something a bit smaller as we've moved house and now can't fit it in the garage. Body is reasonably straight but paint is a bit rough. Previous owner was a bit overzealous with the touch up paint. Engine and gearbox are in excellent shape and perform very well. Have receipts for a bunch of work on the gearbox from the previous owner. 170,000ks New 750cca battery H&R lowering springs Rear mufflers removed 20x10 and 20x9 Staggered Beyern Rapps New rubber all round New JVC DRVN 2 way speakers in factory boxes All electrics working. Would like $6500 for it or trade for a manual e30 or e36. Will get some better photos if anyone's potentially interested. Personalised plates aren't included.

BMW did make a swb e38 750 but to my knowledge it was only sold in Europe so it would be cool to replicate it. Pretty soon I'll have the space to do a long term project but i don't have the will or the skill to be cutting into transmission tunnels/firewalls etc. You're probably right if i was charging myself for the time it would take to swap everything over but i wouldn't be. On the other hand, i can't paint or certify rust repairs so all of that would be a cost, then there's the reasonably shabby mid 90's interior that all needs replacing/fixing up, whereas the 728s is mint. But i appreciate the input. Was just an option that was put in front of me so thought I'd explore the option a bit

I have a 96 750iL with a very average body and interior and have been offered a good condition, late model, short wheel base 728I. Would be very nice if I could grab it and swap my engine and running gear into the 728. Just wondering what the differences are in terms of engine mounting locations, suspension, transmission tunnel size etc. I'm assuming the engine bay is the same size so setting the engine mounts up can't be too difficult but the v12 tranny must be significantly bigger...has anyone done a similar swap that could shed some light on this?

I swear 90% of E36's on trademe are listed as "genuine M sport" Love that carbon fiber cold air box...drawing all that sweet, cold headlight air in.... Pretty sure that wing is a replica E36 M3 GT wing so at least they're sticking with BMW styling instead of turning it full tokyo drift spec
