well my loom melted itself the other day, leading to a long tow home anyway, i THINK its the starter motor...anyone had experience with the terminals loosening and shorting? thats my hypothesis...have not had time to have a looksie yet. fix or new loom? if i fix will prob replace the wire and rewrap with that rigid plastic stuff to make it more of an open loom...not that i am anticipating future problems of course

thought so again, just seems strangely inconveniant but to me sounds about right sounds like my old one did before it died, but mine was not quite so noisy...the brushes ?? inside gay

pre FL's are lighter but are generally rusty, and there is a minimum weight anyway so im not sure if it matters too much 318FL or 320 is the big question..much remains to be seen 2/4door i imagine is neglible...2doors a bit lighter but again, minimum weights apply...the possible stiffness benefit of 4 door likely to be negated by cage 2 doors look better but 4 doors more common..easier to pick up a decent car?

bmw manifolds are surprisingly good....i gained power (bum dyno, maybe not power but it feels better/faster) moving from headers/2.5" to stock manifold (facelift 2.5) /2.25" too big piping reduces the heat in the exhaust and therefore gas velocity... advice....leave most of piping, maybe change rear muffler for look/sound and if needed rear half....leave the front half alone

problems...seriously being harsh, dude its a 520, no matter what you doing to it, it's going to be gutless easiest swap would be a 2.5 however would still be slow...a 3.5 would be decent, but hard to find in 5 spd spending $$ on doing little sh*t will prob just make your fuel consumption worse....kinda like pissing it away, but drinking is more fun

ABS light? the pedal feel is marginal....it does make it a little shorter being non ABS, but its still no Left hand driver....always gonna be funny with that many linkages in the system the abs sensors should be on the hubs...discs and calipers are normally interchangeable how does it f**k out? check all the sensor connectors..engine bay and under rear seats? the e30 system is pretty reliable again, going off e30 stuff so if its different let me know
-
post some pics...the pre Facelift have higher rear arches so if you are comparing to facelifts it may seem higher give it a week or two to settle, as it may right itself
-
gutted man did the dude say WHY? i hate people not giving decent reasons, as to me it seems a relatively good idea...although on the other hand a 2.5 or bigger bolts straight in and would be better overall...take the bigger struts and everything else though so tempted..but what on earth would i do with one! price all uP? but yeah better to kill it now than halfway through!

just finished a manual swap....after much pain in ass only one more problem the starter makes a really high pitched squeal when starting...sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesnt seem to engage thoughts? highly doubt its something that i have done, but does seem like an extremely inconveniant time for it to die? solenoid not engaging the starter properly?

on behalf zhp22?? is that what it is? anyway 6cylinder auto, non switchable 140k $200

yeah, but the 750 is 25mm....i dont know how big the 735 one is but i imagine its the same size as the e28...doubt its 25mm otherwise the 25mm would be a lot easier to find
-
prob same size...check on realoem etk what new brakes? why lose the ABS? seems silly to me... ABS normally have 2 outputs, non ABS 3..thats for e30s but i imagine the 80's braking principles are prob pretty similar

we would prob have to sort these out on an individual basis, as we have no set plans to make any.however we can find out how much it will cost and sort out something

its funny how coffee branding plays such a huge part of its success....its otherwise relatively hard to differentiate the product. Personal fav brand Jungle coffee (obvious reasons) but theres heaps, illys, karajoz, roasted addiqtion (used to deliver bags of beans down into town). what you thinking of doing? its a pretty full market, would have to do something different. i buy coffee out, far too young to own the means to make a decent one at home

i may save attempted suicide with this one make sure both the threaded receivers on the pedal boxes are the same...if they are not swap them over...might save you an hour or two on top of having to take the pedal box out again sure is oddball, but it cant just be the one also, make sure you dont get the clutch line mixed up and throw away all your old "brake lines". has anyone got a full list of parts needed? ill make one up if requested
-
good on ya my projects sucking hard right now...current manual swap on anothers car stalled due to a different threaded receiver on the brake bar...pedal box back out again! effin ridiculous and had to tow mine back from Mt Welligton with a melted wiring loom!
-
need it - i gave mine away...hook a brutha up
-
front window? we will very shortly be doing rear window ones (you can stick em anywhere i suppose). look back here in a week or so

Grant is dead right. new ideas are always good...if they are not the greatest and not implemented, so be it....but from new ideas other ideas can happen. amazing, innit

at least he is coming up with ideas to improve our site fullas..

not having fogs in is good..but i like having lights on during the day as my car is black...for some reason people often just dont see sh*t...id rather dazzle a few and be seen than not be seen at all

The iS would handle better having less weight, be a fun (read long and hard) project to do. one prob is you wouldnt gain resale that the iS's normally have. (also does it have an LSD?? use that) easier for you, would be a 2.5 swap. it would virtually be swap in and change ecu (or just chip). a fair bit more power and torque (however not heaps, as in its not something to aspire to..maybe 2.5 turbo) basically, if i was in your shoes, i would build a 318iS, but i would still want the M325i for at least a little power. having said that the cars that i have most fun in are normally other peoples scum cars....so many laughs (Ruby and Snot, you know who you are)
